It's terrible, terrible. But if it was his time to go, then he died while doing what he loved.

I've been putting bulletons about this up in every message bored I belong to:
Yesterday, Steve Irwin, Crocodile Hunter and one of my greatest childhood heroes was killed when the poisonous barb of a stingray pierced his heart during a diving expedition. He was most likely killed instantly.
At the moment, his wife, Terri is hiking in Tasmania and does not know of her husband's death.
He is survived by his two children, his wife, Terri, and the thousands of people who looked up to and admired his work all over the world.
He was forty-four.
All through my childhood, Steve Irwin was one of my heroes. There are so many things I would have never done if it weren't for him, and I owe my current occupation to him. He was one of the few guiding lights in my life and I always looked forward to watching his show in the evenings. I count myself very lucky to have grown up with him and his family, and I really mean that. I can remember how old I was when his oldest daughter, Bindi was born, and it warms my heart to see today how like her father she is. Best wishes go out to Terri and the kids.

Oh, this is so sad to hear. I enjoyed watching him especially when my son was younger who was addicted to Animal Planet and Steve's shows. He was one of a kind and will be missed terribly.

This is terrible. How heartbreaking for his family. My little brother adored him when he was younger-he had the Steve Irwin doll, picked out khaki clothes, and grew his hair just like Steve's when he was younger. My thoughts are with his family and his fans.

Wow...I hadn't heard about this tragedy on the news yet...it's shocking. He was so young too. My daughter loves his shows...I'll have to let her know what happened. Thank you for posting this.

Animal Planet and Discovery have been running great tributes ot Steve here in Asia; I am sure they are doing so everywhere. My kids really enjoyed watching it yesterday, but were really really sad, too -- especially when the documentary featured Bindy talking about her Daddy. Heartbreaking.

Thanks for sharing your story Ayesa. It was really touching.
I myself can't believe he is gone. I watched his show when I was younger and I cried when I found out. He was a great guy and will be missed. Best wishes to his family who are in my thought and prayers.
