An InTREEging Cause for Earth Day

It’s no big secret that one of my favorite bands is the Lovehammers. So how happy am I to have a perfectly good reason to blog about them? VERY!!

April 22, 2008 is a pretty huge day for us Hammerheads. First off, the Lovehammers will perform a FREE concert that day at 1pm at Daley Plaza (50 W. Washington, downtown Chicago). Free is good.

Also, in conjunction with Earth Day 2008 the Lovehammers are planning a special dedication of their song, “Trees”. Every time someone downloads “Trees” by Lovehammers on April 22 only, 100% of the proceeds generated on that day will be donated to the Earth Day Network.

“Trees” will be available for download through iTunes (click here to download) and other music download sites on April 22, 2008. You can go to www.Lovehammers.com for the correct links to the downloads. That way you’re sure to get the correct version that will make a difference. Please note: make sure you download Trees by Lovehammers - type in “Trees, Lovehammers” in the search area - the artwork will be the pink t-shirt as seen on me here:

Lovehammers were on WGN-TV News this morning. They were supposed to talk about the InTREEging Campaign for Earth Day. However, I think most of their spot got shortened because of all the earthquake coverage. (Oh yeah, for those of you not from the area, there was a small earthquake in Southern Illinois that was felt as far away as Wisconson and Georgia!)

So the newsguy basically just announced them, said that money from the download of Trees was going to the Earth Day Fund and then they played Trees. But it was cut off before the entire song was played.

But they did flash a screen mentioning the Earth Day thing next week, so hopefully that will draw people out.

I have it recorded at home - so I'll see if I can get it posted sometime soon. I know IWO usually records these things, she will probably beat me to it.

HY basically summarized it... I just want to add there were two other 30-40 seconds clips. First there was The Riddle, Marty really smiled to himself while singing ..."tryin'to get home to you".
I thought it was very cute!
The other teaser "Driving Blind " highlighted Bobby's more intricate
drum rhythms (somebody'been practicing...) In Trees, Marty changed a few tiny passages which was nice
Too bad the station cut the ending, then again we had an earthquake with after-shocks which apparently I slept through . This occupied nearly the entire news broadcast!
