Jan... from one dog lover to another.. Dogs really are family members. I am so sorry for your loss today, but you did the most courageous thing, what a pet owner must...that's to put the dog's interests first. Your faithful friend deserved care and comfort and you gave it. I'll be thinking of you. Sending hugs and ginger/Paula

Jan,
So sorry to hear about your dog.
My 13 year old lab/chow mix is going down the same road. We found her as a stray puppy when I was pregnant with my son and have raised them together.
I can't imagine how sad it will be to lose such a sweet dog.
My thoughts are with you.

Jan, I know exactly what you are going through. We adopted out dog when she was less than a year old and raised her for 15 years. She also had joint problems and kidney failure. As much as we all hated to do it, we knew she was suffering and made that difficult decision to let the vet put her to sleep. As much as we hated to say goodbye, watching her suffering would have been worse. My heart goes out to you and your family at this difficult time. Just know that your memories are with you forever. Lyn

Jan so sorry about your loss. We went through the same thing 5 years ago with our dog. He was 10 years old and a big part of our family. We have lots of good memories and pictures of him so that helps to heal the pain. Take care.

Jan-- I'm tearing up as I read this thread! I'm so sorry for you and the tough decision you had to make for your dog. Our pets become so much a part of the family and offer us joy and unconditional love. You did the loving thing for your pet but that doesn't make your loss any easier. Carol

I don't even have words to express how much I feel for you right now. I've lost furry family members in the past; it hurts. If you need anything I might be able to provide - just let me know. ._.
