Cheza. Now I can't get that song out of my head. I love the beginning of the song--soft and beautiful melody:
"Well, I can't forget this evening And your face when you were leaving But I guess that's just the way the story goes You always smile, but in your eyes your sorrow shows Yes, it shows
Well, I can't forget tomorrow When I think of all my sorrow I had you there, but then I let you go And now it's only fair that I should let you know What you should know..."
Well, I'm off to blow-up some stuff. Happy 4th!

Have you ever heard the song "Tell Me On A Sunday" by Andrew Lloyd Webber from his musical "Song and Dance"? "Tell Me On A Sunday" Don't write a letter when you want to leave Don't call me at 3 a.m. from a friend's apartment I'd like to choose how I hear the news Take me to a park that's covered with trees Tell me on a Sunday please
Let me down easy No big song and dance No long faces, no long looks No deep conversation I know the way we should spend that day Take me to a zoo that's got chimpanzees Tell me on a Sunday please
Don't want to know who's to blame It won't help knowing Don't want to fight day and night Bad enough you're going
Don't leave in silence with no word at all Don't get drunk and slam the door That's no way to end this I know how I want you to say goodbye Find a circus ring with a flying trapeze Tell me on a Sunday please
Don't want to fight day and night Bad enough you're going Don't leave in silence with no word at all Don't get drunk and slam the door That's no way to end this I know how I want you to say goodbye
Don't run off in the pouring rain Don't call me as they call your plane Take the hurt out of all the pain Take me to a park that's covered with trees Tell me on a Sunday please

I was able to sample a few seconds of the song on Amazon. Very nice. The lyrics are great. Kinda gets you right there. (Pounding chest with fist)

How about another one written by Nelson, but made famous by Patsy Cline - "Crazy"?

"Baby Come Back" was by the band Player...I think...I know one of the group's members was Ronn Moss who plays Ridge Forrester on "The Bold and The Beautiful". According to Wiki, that song is in the new Transformers movie!!!!

Cheza. I received the Cowboy Bebop DVD in the mail and watched it last night. It was excellent. They really put a lot of work in the production of that series. The dubbing was first rate. Music was awesome. Great picture quality. Most importantly, the storyline was really entertaining. I like the main characters (Spike, Jet and Faye). It’s funny how Spike always seems to be hungry, but all they have to eat is bell peppers and meatballs. I’m curious whether or not a relationship will develop between Spike and Faye. I’ll be ordering disc number two very soon. Can’t wait to see what happens next. Thanks for telling me about this series!

YAY! I'm so glad you liked it! Anime is big business in Japan - so yes, the production values are usually quite impressive. As for Faye, you'll learn some surprising things about Ms. Valentine as you go along. You're welcome! I hope you enjoy the rest of the series as much as I do. Peace.

Two great voices, Jill. Especially Linda Ronstatd. I think LR did her own version of the Eagles song "Desperado" a long time ago. That was sweeeeet.
Cheza. I ordered Cowboy Bebop #2 from Amazon. Waiting patiently. I watched disc one for a second time. I missed the part about Faye being in huge debt. Hope that doesn't result in her demise. We'll see.

Ronstadt's version of "Desperado" is excellent. Chicagojoe, like I said...you'll find out some VERY surprising things about Ms. Valentine as you proceed. You'll get to meet the fifth member of the Bebop crew (you've already met Jet, Spike, Faye, and Ein...in Session 9 you'll meet Edward) on the next disc. Session 6: "Sympathy for the Devil" is one of the ones that sort of freaks me out. I promise the strange part dealing with Spike at the beginning will make sense when all is revealed. Session 9: "Jammin' With Edward" ~ The intro of Ed is pretty hilarious. It's pretty fast paced, so you'll have to pay special attention because the jokes fly fast. In Session 10: Jet finally gets to take centerstage. Ganymede is his home and this episode deals with his past and we find, like Spike, he lacks closure in that department. As for 7 & 8...Spike has a bit more to do than the others in those...we do find out Faye hates Heavy Metal in Session 7 though I don't know if you've noticed the three old guys that show up from time to time yet. They were in the bar in Session One and they appear again in the episode in the casino (I think). They pop up from time to time throughout the series...I think just as something familiar mainly...to provide a continuous sense of time and place. You'll see them again as the series continues. Oh yeah...Faye's debt will not result in her demise. - that I assure you. I also assure you that the debt wasn't all hers to begin with. The complete details of her debt are revealed on Disc 4 in the session entitled "My Funny Valentine".

Cheza. Sounds like the subsequent sessions are going to be great. Yeah, I noticed the three ornery and senile old guys. They’re always arguing and talking about the old days. You're correct about them showing up again in the casino later on. Because when I first noticed this I was thinking, "Those old dudes sure get around." That's pretty cool how they pop up every so often. Thanks for the info!

The one where the one old guy is griping about working and the other two say they're the buddies he's rattling on about working with and that he was too busy spreading another type of seed instead of working when he should have been...that cracks me up. I think they are in the one where the guys get Ein the more I think about it. You wonder how they have the money to travel so much!!!
I think they'll show up on Disc 2 in "Heavy Metal Queen", but I'm not sure. I need to re-watch that disc - it's been a while. Later, I know you'll see them in "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Mushroom Samba".
One more thing. After you watch Session 22, you need to get the movie and watch it then. The movie is called "Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' On Heaven's Door". Wal-Mart, of all places, used to carry it...I don't know if they do now or not. The movie is what I most often find in the DVD areas of Hastings stores. Best Buy usually has a decent selection of Bebop in the Anime section.
The point is this. To keep things in appropriate alignment - even though the movie stands alone - you need to watch the movie BEFORE you get to the end of the series.

Cheza. Yeah. The part about the old guys that you just described was really funny. Senility had set in long ago for those guys. Doesn't stop them from gambling or just being plain nasty. Thanks for the pointer on Session 22. Fortunately, our video store has the movie. I saw it in the dollar rental section the other day while I was browsing.
