Yes I loved Linda's version of "Desperado" It is gorgeous! I think I had that album as a teen. I think it was the one with her on the front in roller skates?! I think all my teenage girl pals wanted to be her when we grew up. "Blue Bayou" was another one on that album I think that is good one too.
Help me Cheza and CJ ? What does Cowboy Bebop have to do with break-up songs? Did I miss something? Am I having a senior moment again? ;D

I posted a song from Cowboy Bebop in the thread a while back - the one called "Adieu". I actually have tried to start a thread in TV for "Great TV Shows You May Have Missed" where I could discuss Bebop and some of the other anime series I watch, but so far I haven't had any takers. Chicagojoe, glad to hear the rental place has the movie Tomorrow I'm going to have to watch Faye's flashback to see if I can catch what another Bebop fan thinks she saw. Peace.

Jill. I know what those senior moments are like. I keep alot of notes for reminders these days.
Cheza. Is it one of the later episode that has Fayes flashback or am I having one of those senior moments that I just mentioned? By the way, I'm going to check out that other thread "Great TV Shows You May Have Missed".

*LOL* Jilly! I know what you mean! Chicagojoe, it's Session 15, which is on disc 4 - the one entitled "My Funny Valentine". I just re-watched it this morning to see if I could catch what another fan did and man, I can't figure out how I missed that before!!!! Probably because it's like some of the LOST nuggets - they fly by quick and you just can't catch them all. Once you meet Edward, let me know what you think. She tends to be the one character people either love or hate. One of my friends just wanted to shoot her, which his favorite was always Jet. He thought Jet was the man, plain and simple A Jet-isode follows Faye's flashback eppie and it's very film noir...including several flashbacks to Jet as a member of the ISSP and how he ended up with that arm of his. P.S. Thanks for checking out the other thread. I really enjoy Monk too.

Cheza. Looks like I have a ways to go before I see Fayes flashback, but I'm looking forward to seeing that one. Yes, I've noticed how easily you can miss important details. It all comes so fast.
It's cool that you like Monk too. It's just a light, fun show to watch.

That's one of the things I love about Bebop though - you can watch it numerous times and still find new things...like me never seeing how similar that ship was to a Bebop crew members...and then that prompts the question of whether or not he could have met her earlier by chance.
I love Monk's little quirks! Tony Shaloub is hilarious!
*Okay, Jilly - now we'll get back to the goal of this thread...break-up songs*
"Breaking Up Is Hard to Do" ~ Neil Sedaka ... Anyone said that one yet?
What about...:
"It's My Party" ~ Lesley Gore or "There Goes My Baby"

"Silhouettes on the Shade" would be another good one.
I'm not sure of "Oh Darlin'"...I'm not sure I've heard that one...

Here's another good one that I almost forgot about. I Wish it Would Rain Down on Me by Phil Collins You know I never meant to see you again and I only passed by as a friend All this time I stayed out of sight I started wondering why Now I, I wish it would rain down, down on me Yes I wish it would rain, rain down on me now You said you didn't need me in your life I guess you were right Well I never meant to cause you no pain But it looks like I did it again Now I, I wish it would rain down, down on me Yes I wish it would rain, rain down on me now Though your hurt is gone, mines hanging on, inside And I know it's eating me through every night and day I'm just waiting on your sign 'Cos I know, I know I never meant to cause you no pain And I realize I let you down But I know in my heart of heart of hearts I know I'm never gonna hold you again Now I, I wish it would rain down, down on me Yes I wish it would rain, rain down on me now

I looked it up to make sure I wasn't imagining things and it is technically called "Oh Darling" and it is sung by Paul. I got to thinking that maybe it was a solo project of his but I found it on line under Beatles songs.
Oh Darling Please believe me, I'll never do you no harm (and then something like) when you told me you didn't need me anymore, well ya know I nearly broke down and cried (and on and on) I guess its more of a don't break up with me song?!
I also just thought of Lou Rawls "You're gonna miss my loving"

Now that you put some lyrics with the title "Oh Darling", it's beginning to ring a bell, Jill. Don't break up with me songs are cool too.

Yeah same here CJoe what year did you graduate? For me it was 1983 and that feels like 100 years ago sometimes. ;D I remember that even though me and my best friend were into Adam Ant and Duran Duran and DEVO I was a closet Hall &Oates fan, as well has Barry Manilow. Don't laugh I am glad to come out of the closet on those guys now and for the record The BeeGees too heck I might as well go for broke and mention Air Supply ;D ;D I feel better now that I confessed Jilly

I didn't know it until one night when I was watching a tribute to him and some girl group (I don't remember which one) sang it. I was floored! It was a moment akin to when I found out that my junior prom song "Forever" by KISS was written by Paul Stanley and MICHAEL BOLTON!!!!!!
