GP, I started reading 1984 on the train ride from hell, but I haven't picked it up since I got home. I had started reading Les Miserables before that - thinking it would accompany me on the train, but I decided it was too heavy to lug.
I have Twilight and the two follow-ups (New Moon and Eclipse). The final book in the series will be coming out Aug. 2. It's title is Breaking Dawn. I wish I had waited on the third book. A special edition is coming out this summer that has the first chapters of the final book in it. I haven't got to read them yet either! One of my students borrowed them a few weeks back. She loves them and is anxiously awaiting August 2. For the record, she also loves Bobby best.
My students are gobbling up James Patterson's Maximum Ride series. So far there are four books out. Basic premise: A group of kids are on the run...their DNA was mixed with bird DNA by some scientists...and the folks they are running from...their DNA was mixed with wolf DNA...the bird kids have wings and can fly...and the wolf kids are called Erasers. Max is the name of the female lead character. The fourth book in the series was just released. It's called The Final Warning. The first three are: The Angel Experiment, School's Out Forever (that's the lab, if memory serves correctly - The School), and Saving the World and Other Sports.
Oddly enough two of my sophomores are wanting to read Dante's Divine Commedy ... mainly the Inferno section. One is reading it through and saving up to buy a copy via a bargain I found...he still owes $5. Then Maggot (yes, the one the story character is loosely based on) wants the copy the other one has borrowed from me. I really should finish that story come to think of it. I didn't mean to abandon it...will get back to it...but it may be after RFL.
Peace.
