I was in Palos over the weekend and I could not believe how loud the cicada's were. It sounded like a horror movie. ewwwwwwwwwwwww

My husband taped them yesterday. I'll have to see if I can set up a .wav file so you can hear them. They are definitely LOUD!
We have woods behind our house and you could hear them out there. Then this last weekend they invaded my yard. All the pics were taken of them on trees in my backyard.
But my yard is nothing compared to some areas where there are lots of old growth trees, you can drive down those streets and hear them clearly through closed car windows.

Scary looking.
I would be afraid to hear them. They may be saying"Help meeee, help me"
Okay I saw" the fly" too many times as a kid
Bugs scare me. I hope I don't get nightmares Yikes. They are pretty in their own unique way.

Hate those things, it's coming up to summer here where they are at their worst. The pictures of them are pretty though, their not that pretty here. One landed on me once, they are really loud that close up!
