Nicky spotted Josh sitting at a booth in the VIP area drinking a beer. It was the same booth that Andrea had just came from. From Nicky's vantage point she couldn't see who was in the booth. Yet, it was all to clear.

Just then the security guard approached Nicky to ask her about her all to missing VIP pass. Nicky turned and went down the steps, but not before Josh had caught sight of her.

Nicky ran through the packed bar , determined to get out of the bar before Josh came after her. Yet, all the incoming patrons were all around the entrance, and she had to force her way out pushing hard against the many solid bodies.

Into the night Nicky ran. She needed to distance herself from the bar. Away from Josh. But, she didn't get far, before she heard her name being called after her. It was Josh.

Nicky picked up her pace. She couldn't afford to run to the parking lot and have Josh know what car she came in. besides with the night moving upon them fast, the attendants were too busy for her to get her car out of the lot in any hast.

Running block after block, Nicky turned into the back streets off of Hollywood. They had less people, but she was sure that in the darkness she could hide away until Josh gave up. Then she planned on doubling back to the lot and getting her car.

Suddenly, from nowhere Nicky was violently grabbed from behind and thrown against a building wall. Her stunned body was then dragged into the alley.

"What? Let me go!!!" Nicky fought off her attacker, just to find that it wasn't Josh as she had expected but the man. It was Andrea.

"Look at you. Here you follow me and now that I am right in front of you, you want me to let you go? Now, is that polite I ask you?" Andrea shoved her hard against the wall and set her free.

"You are not going to get away with any of this Andrea. Even if you kill me, the Agency will stop you".

" Oh, come now Nicky. Why would I kill you? That doesn't do me any good. I don't need you dead...besides when I finish here you will never even exist in our time. And what a black future that shall be."

"What are you doing this for?" Before she could continue, Andrea slapped her hard across her face, sending her off balance and landing on the floor in a crumpled heap.

"The world is for every man's taking Nicky. Only those with power can rule. I am going to make sure that I have that kind of power. No more...or less. Now stay out of my way, or I will kill you after all."

Looking up as Andrea turned to walk away, Nicky was greeted with a cold smile from Josh.

"Bye Nicky." With a hard yank to her feet Josh grabbed Nicky and slammed his fist into the side of her already stinging face. Darkess took her, as she felt her body lifted completely off the ground and thrown into the dumpster in the alley.

a few hours later Nicky briefly woke.
Josh was a trader, how could he, she thought, she remembered all those days when he fought by her side in the agency and now he has changed to this !
she used all her strength left just to pull herself out of the dumpster.

She walked back into the parking lot where her car was.
She looked at her watch
"6:45 am" , "your Kidding me, its early" she said to herself
she headed towards her car and got in and started it
all of a sudden her phone rang...it said

"Zac" on her phone. She answered it, still dazed, but aware of her surroundings. The attendants at the lot had long since left for the evening, and only her car remained in that lot. She reached into her bag and found her keys. Openong the door of the car she carefully sat down and opened the phone.

" Hey Zac...What do you have for me? You won't believe what happened..." Nicky was about to elaborate, when the voice on the other side interrupted.

" Zac is dead Nicky. I told you I wouldn't kill you, but I never said anything about Zac," Andrea's voice held laughter as he finished " Don't worry about looking for the lad. Nothing left for anyone to find....really. Now be a good little girl and stay out of my way. Oh, and Josh sends his regards." The phone went dead as they hung up.

Numb inside her body, Nicky stared down at her phone. She started to scream, "No!"...her voice broke as she realized that her only friend and partner was dead. Killed and abandoned in a time that he didn't belong. All the while Nicky had been in the dumpster knocked out. Zac was dead.

Nicky began to feel the bile come up her throat as she lost the few contents that remained in her stomach, outside the car door.

After she had finished, she wiped her mouth and closed the door to her car. She needed to find Andrea and Josh...she needed to stop them fast. She also needed to know whose car Zac had followed. The event date was coming fast upon her.

Staring her car, she pulled out into the streets and drove to the last location that Zac had given her. The hotel.

She reached the hotel and went inside. She had asked the desk clerk for any information regarding Andrea or his guests. The clerk mentioned that a man had come into the lobby of the hotel, but that he stated that he was waiting for a friend and that he wouldn't check in until he knew that they were arriving. The Andrea had simply left. The desk clerk hadn't noticed the car the man came in or left in.

Nicky walked out of the hotel even more confused. This was all so well planned. She didn't know what to do. Almost in tears she walked toward her car, desperately trying to think of her next course of action.Then her savior came...an LH Street team member.

"Hey...I am a Street Team member for this band called the Lovehammers and I just wanted to give you a flyer and let you know about a show that is coming up here in Hollywood tomorrow night. It is going to be great. Have you ever heard of the Lovehammers?"

Nicky perked up, "Yes. I am a fan. I didn't know that they were playing here in town."

"Yeah, tomorrow night. Here is a sticker for your car, too. I hope to see you there."

As the woman walked off, Nicky quickly realized that this must have been the reason for Andrea and Josh to have come to here in the first place. She needed to be there at the show tomorrow and she needed to do everything to see that LH was well protected from Andrea and Josh.

Nicky got back into her car. She had a million things going through her mind at once. So much had taken place in such a short time. She had a mission to finish. She would complete this mission, even if in the end it might cost her life. She turned on her car and drove off to find a safe hotel to rest at. She had a lot of planning to do.

as she decided to call it a night at the safer hotel Nicky had chosen, she gazed out the window wondering where the enemy could be.
All this time she had not realized how much pressure had been given to her, as she lay her head down to sleep she thought of some plans and then thought about the LH and rockstar show that was coming up.
as she fell asleep she heard a noise like someone was walking past and scrambling through her things
Nicky shot up and saw...

[starcrossed]

A shadow of a man in the corner of her room. Nicky rolled off the bed taking her gun from under her pillow and aimed it at the figure.

"Stop or I will shot. Who are you?" Nicky called out.

She caught a glimmer of of metal in the moonlight. The person had a gun. She saw a flash as the gun went off. Nicky lowered herself all the way to they ground and blindly shot two rounds off her own gun.

Nicky was scared of the dark figure, she crawled across the room behind a tall cupboard,
She threw the gun that reflected in the moonlight. The dark figure followed the gun she had thrown, as it had followed the gun she raced across to the other side of the room and hid beside the bed as the figure bent over to pick up the gun she quickly darted up and turned the light on to see that the dark figure was...

Zac!

How could that be? He was dead or at least that was what she was told. Nicky couldn't breathe. All thoughts ran through her mind.

Just then Zac turned and fired another shot at her. She leaped off into the corner of the room, and reached into the back of her pants for her second gun. She was an accurate shot and knew exactly what she had to do. Nicky shot off two fast rounds. The gun in Zac's hand flew into the air. Her first shot hot Zac in his gun hand, and the second shot his shoulder.

Not wasting a second, Nicky kicked the gun out of Zac's reach. He was on the floor holding his injured shoulder.

"Not that I am not happy about you being alive, but what the hell is this about Zac? You were dead. Or that was what I was told. So, you better be very careful what you say from this point on, or I will do the job myself."
