lol I hate you diva, your thin so you can eat that cheesesteak, I am on a mission to lose 20 lbs by Hamjam, wanna upstage Mr. Casey in the "rail thin"dept. my fave hammerdining experience was in new york. Walking down Bowery I stumbled upon a cool chinese restaurant and ate some noodle dish and then went to CBGB. I got real drunk that night. After the show and the next day I woke up at the Ho Jo's and had the WORST hammerhangover I have ever had in my life!! I felt like utter crap. So I went down to the lobby and asked the front desk where Katz's deli was and they pointed it out to me (two blocks that way..) and I went there and ate a hot pastrami and mustard sandwich (extra lean), it was soooooooo good..... that restaurant was where Meg Ryan did her "fake orgasm" scene in When Harry Met Sally. Anyway, that and some ginger ale and gummy dinosaurs and my hangover was gone! hahahaha Well where were you when we were in NYC ;D ;D, we coulda used that deli or Chinese, as we stayed not too far from CBGB's on Rivington in between Bowery and Christy! Aaah good times and I am on the hammerjam diet too like alot of folks, good luck to us all! I am going to need it. I am drinking an appletini and am going out tonight.....Coors light nite

Diva honey I so loved meeting you and Jodie and Rockfan at the Canal room. It's too bad it was brief but that's what HammerJam is for (can't wait ). I am loving your reviews. I love the way you talk about the culture of each place. You really get a real taste for what it's like and it's all good. I grew up in NYC and if someone didn't flip you the bird while driving through town, well than you really didn't drive through town. Keep going with your story. Love ya! You are a doll

Okeedokee, lets get some closure to this trip shall we? Brace yourself--I am wordy so its long. I believe I last posted on our day 4. We had made it to Baltimore on day 3 and that was our off day. Day 4 8/7/06 was spent at kinkos posting and uploading photos for a few hrs. Then immediately when we left there, we were starving and decided to go to Ramshead tavern, the place the show was gonna be at to check it out ahead of time and get some food. If we have time its always nice to check out the club ahead of time to see how fancy it is and if they'll have food or not, to know what to wear and if we'll need to eat first before going etc. Ramshead Tavern and Ramshead Live-the box office is killer. Its this restaurant/bar/club that has a 1600 seat club upstairs/downstairs along with a great restaurant and bar. Its in an area surrounded by other killer restaurant/bars of a part of a closed down street at 20 Market Place. I would liken it to Universal City Walk here in L.A. We immediately sat down to eat at the restaurant and made friends with the staff: Darian and Amber--great people. We of course street teamed them and made the entire staff by days end wear mc.org wristbands. They have a great local brewing company too--Fordham and Fordham light beer is really tatsy. Makes Miller light taste like water. Anyhow, there is a cutout in the wall of glass that overlooks the club. Its about 3pm and we can see them setting up the bands equipment n the stage, we see Bob, Randy, Dan milling around. We see Marty walking circles talking on his cell phone. It looks like we were gonna get to atleast hear all of sound check--nice. I am sitting on my bar stool staring in that general direction, of the club room......Jodie is talking to Darian and I am just spacing off, not focusing my eyes until I look up and I see arms waving in the club room. It took me a minute to focus but it was Marty waving hi at us. I waved hi back. It took Jodie a few seconds later but she waved Marty a hi shortly thereafter. We decided then to move over to this table right next to the window to the club so we could actually hear and feel soundcheck through the wall. We made friends with the guys at the nearest tables and made them wear wristbands too. Our waitress Jess then offered us a private tour of the club. So off we went into the club room during sound check to see the v.i.p room, the various areas for seating and bars, merch area etc. The Nascar guys Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson were suppose to show up that night because they knew a guy from the opening band. Anyhow we waived to the guys as they were soundchecking and we were touring the club. So after lunch, beers, tours of the club etc we headed back to the room to change clothes, get tickets and head back to the club. We got a call earlier in the day we were psyched about, it looked like our secret mission would happen--we were so stoked for this show. This was the show it was to happen! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To be continued........

Day4 Baltimore continued ------------------------------ Shortly after we arrive for the show we meet MarieinVA and dbell1 with her son, sweet ladies. There seemed to be about 300 people or so there and the club coulda used alot more people to soak up some sound to make it more "warm" sounding in there. It was sort of cavernous and had some feedback. The 1st 2 of the 3 opening bands were so-so. But then up came Plunge, the next big thing according to Marty and a few others. They rock. They had their own tour bus and are about to hit the road--newly signed with EMI and working with very cool industry types. The lead singer is hot ladies in a Gavin Rossdale kinda way. We of course made him wear a wristband and take a photo with us after the show and told him what it was for. He says "We need some ladies like you working for us!" So check their myspace out and their official site too--Plunge--you will be hearing form them in the future. So it was time to make our way up front for the show and up in the front row we see Chayla, Jaxlover2(Vicky) and their other friend (sorry I am so bad with names and it escapes me). We somehow managed to make our way to the front row though before lights went down and we started rocking. Great show, that night's version of Clouds blew my mind. Marty climbed a huge scaffolding and hung upside down--you can kind of see it coming by what there is to climb at each show. The set got cut short, but it was sweet, nonetheless. 8 songs in total, no encore. No meet and greet. After taking pictures and vids during the show--at end of show I open up my purse, which was closed shut and still on my arm during the show--NO F-ing CAMERA! My $400 digital camera is gone, pickpocketed. Long story short, we look, security looks, Randy looks for me under the stage and everywhere to no avail. Kind of ended Baltimore on a bummer note for me but still loved the city! Jeff Gordon/Jimmy Johnson never showed up. And OH yeah, SECRET MISSION. Mission Incomplete. :'(It never happened and thats another reason that Baltimore was sort of a bummer at end of showtime. But basically to let you all in on it now, you know how much we all love DirtyPhil (Phil Ritchie) from RS Supernova. Well most of us love him anyway. I knew he was from Maryland and so on the plane we hatched the idea that we knew he liked Marty--we had to get him to come to the show in Baltimore. Penny would die. So would we, and we'd get an infamous pic of Marty and Phil with the wristband on. Squeee. In the Philly meet and greet line we befriend this couple: Cassie and Roger (so cool) and who are they friends of? PHIL! Of course so they say they will contact him and make it happen for us. Otherwise Jodie and I were gonna message him at myspace and call all the Ritchies in the phone book--hee hee kidding--we didnt know. Well Cassie and Roger left messages but I guess Phil is known for not getting back to peeps. But the next night they actually saw Phil at the Soul Asylum concert. They told him about us and what we wanted to do and that it was good publicity for his band Lennex on mc.org and his response: "Well I guess I'll have to show up then" Cassie calls Jodie with the good news and says "Phil may be calling you to set this up". We were so excited. I guess he also wanted to see Plunge who he is also friends with but in the end, no Phil, no Nascar guys, no camera for me, no meet and greet, get out the violins and cry me a river right? Well it was end of the night and we head out the Club's back door and run into the guys van and trailor and other fans milling about. Dino was there and Jodie talked to him. Billy was so sweet this night. He posed for a wristband pic. We gave him a wristband and he says "No can I have another for the other hand, I wanna do wonder woman." So we give him one and his pose as Wonder woman is so adorable. Hope you get to see it soon and thanks for the hugs Billy. Marty came out brielfy and talked to fans but he made his exit before we could say hi this night. Then its Bob's turn. I must explain. Bob Kourelis is no longer a Bobby to me. He's officially Bob from here on out and ever after. Cant explain it. I think I am switching to the other side and may become a Bob girl. But after talking to him several times, and how sweet, nice, considerate and intelligent he is, well anyway, he's just Bob. He posed for his wristband photo like a good sport--cant believe he did it either. And although we got him to smile in pics several times this trip--not an easy feat either--he wouldnt do it for the wristband photo, saying "I dont take direction very well do I?" Then we said our goodbyes and I was thinking it was gonna be a wave goodbye. And then something shocked the crud out of me. Bob came back, unprompted and said "Bye ladies" and gave us each hugs. I got the best full on body hug ever. A real hug, chest to chest and all. I wonder if Jodie felt the same about it, but squeeeee! I forgot I lost my camera and all was right with the universe again. Thank you Bob. Then it was rest (a little anyway) and off to NYC the next day...........stay tuned....

Excellent review my Diva girl! Thank you so much for getting to it, as you know we have all been waiting sooo patiently. Damn about your camera, the nerve! I mean, it's one thing to get your camera stolen, and a completely other level of pissiness to have it stolen full of LH pics!!!! You must have been shattered. Glad to hear that a full body hug from Bob helped to perk u up. It sounds like Baltimore day was fun, and that the club was cool and the staff there were terrific. Wish I could have been there! Can't wait to hear more --

Excellent review, Diva. I love the way you really describe the places you are at including the city and the club. Sorry about your camera. That really sucks -- like Lisafaith said--even worse because it was full of LH pics! I'm looking forward to reading the rest.

Canal Room Show - New York City review Okay, here goes my NYC fangirl adventure: The family and I arrive in NYC on Tues., the day of the LH show at the Canal Room. We brought along the laptop but of course, forgot the wireless card. The internet charge at the hotel was over a $1.00 a minute , so I decided to keep notes of my experience. I met up with Jodie and Diva at their hotel before the show. I must say those two girls are the nicest, sweetest, hardworking and loyal fangirls on the planet. They experienced alot of highs and lows on their journey (Diva's camera getting stolen, Jodie's parking ticket in NYC for unloading their suitcases , etc) but overall did a fantastic job . We catch a cab over to the Canal Room and see that the line is not very long. I had the pleasure of meeting other fangirls including Yak, Needy, MyOb, Chk, sdbrins and many others. I noticed the Street Teamers were out handing out flyers, etc., and my hat off to them for doing such a great job . We go on in the Canal Room to look for a spot. The first band Fixer were awesome. They kicked major a** and the whole place was rocking. Soon after the LH are coming up on the stage. Got a huge welcome from the crowd. I was getting really excited since this was my 2nd show in 6 months. Saw them with INXS the first time. The small venue is nice and intimate but we were kinda packed in their like sardines. I was at the side of the stage on Dino's side with Yak. The only problem with that spot was we were BEHIND the main speakers and could only hear Dino's bass (his amp was in my ear, lol, but plays a very mean bass) and Bobby. Marty kept coming by us, so I got this pic You couldn't hear Billy and Marty's voice echoed. I stayed there long enough to get some pics and then had to move away so I could get in front of the speakers. Now I could hear everyone. Marty climbed up on to the bar where I was standing and sang away It was a great, high-energy show and I thoroughly enjoyed it but like all shows, it ended way to early (10:30pm). There was no official M&G but the guys came out in the bathroom area where I talked briefly with Dino and Bobby. Marty left before I could say "hi" but got these pics of him My search for interesting/famous people for a wristband shot, coming up.

Thanks Shy and Diva Part II - Searching for famous/interesting people for a wristband pic The day after the show, Jodie, Diva and myself take a tour of the many sights around the city. Jodie's pics have already been posted. It was a fun and interesting day. Then they had to leave to go back to California . Jodie gave me a bunch of wristbands just in case I do come across some famous/interesting people in the city. I thought for sure I would since this place is HUGE. We decide to take a shopping trip down Fifth Ave looking for some real bargains ( ). I walk past this jewelry store thinking a wristband would like nice on display in there But since I could not convince them I was related to Donald Trump, I was denied access . I continue walking and came upon the Abercrombie & Fitch store. I immediately notice this young man greeting customers in a very nice pair of jeans (ah-hem, cough ). I'm thinking, walk up to him and ask him to slip on the wristband. Then I pictured store security coming up to me and with my southern accent, they may call in the NYC SWAT team. Wish Jodie and Diva were with me then, they could have made it happen . The next day, my son and I go down to Rockefeller Plaza where they do the Today Show on NBC. We are standing behind Ann Curry, Al Roker, and David Gregory hoping to get a chance afterwards. But security was tight and very crowded, so we left empty-handed once again . Oh well, I tried and there is always the next city I venture into.
