Things to Do for up coming "Get Live" Tour 2006

This is a reminder for Streeting Marty & Lovehammers coming to your area during their "Get Live" Marty Casey & Lovehammers Tour...

I'm going to be quoting Radioclash's wonderful ideas "What to Do for February Week 1" (INXS tour).....

Flyers: Graphics for various flyers are available, that can be used to promote the album or shows. You can print one off at home and then xerox a bunch!

Magazines: "Entertainment Weekly" Contact your local newspaper and let them know the Guys are coming. Possibly set up telephone interviews with Magazines or Local newspaper. If you registered with AP magazine keep placing your vote for the album "http://www.altpress.com/topcd/october.htm"

Radio Stations: Contact the Program Director, with information of the concert, date and time, requesting they play the CD before the concert. After the concert follow up with requests to play more Lovehammers!!! Won't have to Also make a request to interview the guys while their in your area

Ok folks,

The GET LIVE tour is right around the corner and I have an idea to get the word out, besides what everyone is doing. This is something we can ALL do to help the guys out and it’s kind of a whole tour long campaign.

What I am thinking is that we concentrate on each venue area a week before the guys hit it. So we start calling radio stations daily for said area one week before the guys hit it and continue until the day of the show. Once the guys have played there we stop that area and pick up the next one. There will be some overlap and we may end up hitting up to 7 stations a day but I think it will be worth it.

Example:
Starting 7/20 we start calling the St. Louis radio stations daily asking for play and mentioning to the DJ’s where/when they are playing. We also visit websites for the radio, newspapers and other areas folks go to see what is coming up. Then on 7/15 we add the Louisville area to the daily list and on 7/24 Cincinnati area. Of course once the guys play on 7/27 we drop St. Louis and continue moving forward with the other dates on the tour. Folks in the upcoming areas can post in the tour section the places we need to call or websites we should start posting on.

Those in the area where the guys are coming to you can start putting flyers up at local venues, colleges and wherever you think folks will notice them. Contact the clubs too to see if they will let you put flyers up in the clubs.

Another idea takes money so not everyone will be able to do this but an idea is to put an ad in the local papers/weeklies that cover your area. Be sure to see what the lead times is for ads because it may be greater than a week and proper planning may be required. Again this is not for everyone but if you can go for it.

Of course whatever can be done to SPREAD THE LOVE about the GET LIVE tour is great so share your ideas as well.

I love this idea..Everyone is so pumped up for this tour. I am so happy that this has happened for the guys and that so many people are working so hard to spread the word. I am usually on the LH board haven't quite figured this one out yet. So if someone can pop over and drop me a pm once in awhile I would appreciate it. I want to do everything I can to help. I stop in here to check mail but sometimes forget.. Thanks all

Great news!

The editor of LEO (Louisville Eccentric Observer) did a Q&A with Marty today that will be in next week's issue just in time before the Phoenix Hill show. This is a weekly entertainment publication that has been around Louisville for 16 years. You can check out their website at www.leoweekly.com.
