Hi all,
What a night I had. I've put up a slide show on myspace of photos I took last night at the concert. Go to www.myspace.com/hammerheadtattoo
and check them out.
Arrived around 6:30 started putting up flyers I printed myself and asking the crowd "Who likes Marty Casey"? Lots of people said they did and some said they didn't but I handed out all the rest of the postcards and about 100 business cards. To the people that said they liked Marty I asked if they had bought his new cd and they said no, so I told them its available in Vancouver for about 12.00 so they should buy it. Or at least check out the websites and find out whats going on and listen to some music by Lovehammers. Overall most people were friendly and let me take some photos of them. I'm in a couple of them.
Then I met this guy playing a digerydo and asked if I could take his picture and he said yes. It turns out he had a ticket to sell and I asked if he didn't sell it by the time the concert started what was he going to do. He asked me how much money I had and all I had left after paying 15.00 for parking was 10.00. Guess what, he sold it to me for 10.00 and we had floor seats in the 15th row center.
Needless to say it was a good concert. JD was something else as usual. He had a big leg brace on and his face was swollen up. He looked like he's either been in a fight, fallen off a motorcycle or something painful. I'm sure he was on pain killers because he went into some reciting of either lines from a movie or something and did some preaching. He sang "Amazing Grace" so out of tune, but all evening he was hitting flat notes. Anyway the crowd loved him and it was a good show.
Of course nobody can beat Marty Casey and Lovehammers in my eyes. I so much would have rather been watching them instead. I had a good time and hopefully encouraged a few more people to check out Marty and Lovehammers. My job is done and I'm pooped!
Later Hammerheads! 8)
