I wanted to tell you all about some of the specific ST encounters during my Memphis Music Festival weekend.
The 1st was on the plane from Houston to Memphis. As we landed in Memphis and everyone stood up to prepare to exit the plane a guy who got on in Houston pointed to my t-shirt and asked, "are they playing the festival?" I said, '6 o'clock tonight.' As we began to exit the plane I told him 'you should check them out they are really good.'
Another was when one of my hammer roomies (cyberocn) began talking to someone in the elevator at the hotel who she proceeded to bring back to the room with her where we were able to give her stickers, tatoots, pens, and a sample CD. She later returned to our room with a copy of the newspaper with Marty on the cover to give to us, so thoughtful.
Then there was the girl walking on Main Street (where Airjorg and I were waiting for a trolley) taking pictures with her cell phone who stopped to talk to us. She was so nice so we began telling her how we had come so far to see the Lovehammers. She hadn't heard of them so we began to give her some promo items and come to find out she works at a radio station in Memphis. So of course I gave her a sample CD and told her she should check them out, that they are so good that people travel far and wide to see them perform. And that Marty was on the front page of the newspaper of course.
Another one happened at the festival where they were selling t-shirts and Shukra, Airjorg, and myself began to talk to this girl about the LHs and she had watched Rockstar and thought Marty was really great. So we gave her some stuff and told her to go to the web site and sign on. She goes by Roxxy is she signs on be sure to say hi.
On my way home in the Houston airport I was talking to this guy who looked like he might be into some great rock music so I offered him a pen and some matches and told him he should go to the web site and check them out. He began to tell me how he worked at a music venue in Houston and they did some production work on music videos. He asked me a little about the band and their music and said he would check into them maybe he could bring them to Houston. *I'm thinking OMG, yes please*
There were many other encounters thru the weekend but these really stuck out in my mind and I wanted to share them with everyone.
Oh yeah and they guy I met on the airplane going to Memphis for the festival was on the same returning plane to Houston. So I asked him, 'did you get to see the Lovehammers?' he smiled at me real big and said, "yes I did." I said, 'what did you think?' With that big smile on his face he said, "they were REALLY good."

WOW Sharon - those are some great great great stories!! Thanks for typing them up. I've never been able to do such a coherent write-up lol. What a stroke of luck in finding both someone in radio and someone in music production. Plus, it's always good to hear how receptive people are. Too cool about running into the same guy on the airplane to and back from Memphis. Awesome

The funny thing was that I was scheduled for a later flight out of Memphis and when I checked in at the ticket counter the girl said I am gonna put you on stand by for an eariler flight....how funny is that? That was how I wound up on the same flight as him going back to Houston.
mysterious ways... ;D
