I posted this on the LH board too...maybe try a different angle? So I was thinking the other day what can we do to get LH some attention from Program directors who are less than (ahem) enthusiastic about "Trees" etc...if they even know who LH are! So I figure the time has come to do a little name dropping... "Dear Alternative/Hard rock PD, Please play the STEVE ALIBINI produced track "Straight As An Arrow" by MC and LH off of their self titled debut album. Love your loyal listener" or something to that affect. Albini is very respected in the hard rock/alt world and all we are doing is pointing out a plain simple fact. Hopefully the PD will see that name and at least give it a listen. Speaking of Albini I came across this article he wrote and I think it addresses some topics that were being discussed in the Billboard 200 thread. www.negativland.com/albini.html

Polarfan, Excellent street teaming idea! Loved your Steve Albini article. Every LH fan should read this as he explains the industry and signing exactly as it is. I think the LH are lucky they did not have a previous label to pay out, didn't buy all new equipment, most of the new CD was produced prior, not much spent on wardrobe and hopefully the merchandising is being handled by themselves!! I guess the end consensus is... sell over 250,000!!!

Excellent idea!
That article is filled with some pretty sobering figures. I've read an interview with him before and he's always been blunt about the business. I remember the day the news came out that the Lovehammers signed with Epic, I had just got done reading about a band who were previously independent and had a horrendous experience with Epic.
Yikes I thought, but then everything from the band so far has been positive with them liking who they are working with. I hope they feel the same in the future.
