To be honest..I miscalculated the age group. 12 was too high. The avg age was 8. Ive never seen so many screaming little girls before. LH were GREAT but not enuff people there knew what they were about. I mean it was a Mom and Dad with a slew of little girls for J Simpson. LH had their good share of fans but the "vibe" wasnt there like it should have been. I was surrounded by little girls screaming Jessica SImpson's name and I just put my hands over my ears. I couldnt take it. I was on the lawn (thankfully it was not muddy) and I was miles from the stage. I tried to maneuver best I could to one of the monitors but even near those it was packed with ppl. For anyone with a modicum of music accumen YES LH stole the show! I didnt stay for JS..I saw her one song and all she did was shake her ass. I couldnt figure out whey parents thought this a good thing for thier impressionable daughters. Lovehammers are a great band! Marty Casey is an amazing performer and YES all kinds of Conductor Moves..all nite!!!

Just hearing you two makes the wait (for INXS tour) excruciating. Don't know if he'll make it to my locale, but if he gets even remotely close ... I'll find a way to get there.

To be honest I dont think Marty got the vibe he wanted from that crowd. Remember it was really hard for Lovehammers fans to get any tix. It was sold out for her before they were added to the bill. Most of the LH fans were on the lawn like me. Way far back. He did not feed off the audience because frankly they were rather boring(crowd that is). I mean its all 8yr old girls. Who's gonna feed off that? Granted there were plenty of us LH fans too but way out numbered by screaming prepubescent girls to see Jessica. Marty was FABU though! He had lots of energy and was all over the stage. I had little girls keep telling me to sit down. Sit down? Its Marty Freakin' Casey!! I wasn't sitting for anyone! Everyone DID sing Mr Brightside though..so that was cool. Marty kicked ass on that! He did it accoustic like on the show. And Trees? Forget about it! Knocked the place on its ear!! He broke his guitar into smithereens. SO COOL!

Ahhh, the Mad Conductor was out tonight. So, compared to RS:INXS performances, would you say wilder, more frenetic? Perhaps more like the Marty BEFORE "less is more"?

He was definately more animated. None of the "stand and sing" stuff. He went into the crowd at one point too..damn near hurt himself trying to get over stuff. I was so wanting to be front row when he did that. Rain On The Brain was just awesome! He was so in control. Paint It Black...awwe..he coulda taught Mig a thing or two on that one! He's just amazing. And did I say?? Drop dead beautiful.

Sit down? Acoustic Mr. Brightside and electric Trees. Oh my. My heart is hammering ... or maybe hammered. Even squealing prepubescent girls and their parents musta loved Trees. Everybody loves Trees.

My Take: he was not totally into his voice in the beginning. The screamy parts of the songs weren't screamy enuff for me. He kind of played that down..and Im sure it was because of the audience. However...Marty, Darlin...LET IT OUT!!! Scream baby scream!!! He did on TREES..which was last song.

Yes, but you can keep saying it. Hey, how tall does he look in person? I've been trying to figure that out. In photos (RS:INXS) he looks taller than everyone else. Maybe 6'1" ?

Actually when I got close to him..they were down in a pit...so WE were actually above him and the band when they were signing stuff so it was hard to tell. He wasn't on he same ground level as the rest of us. I was soooo close to getting to him. Amazons kept pushing me outta the way. Big tall chicks with big elbows.

I posted this on the other board. The girl in front of me got his towel. He came out to sign with a towel and wiped the sweat off. I was so close to having it for myself. Oh well.

Hey, thanks for giving me a vicarious thrill tonight. You were my eyes, ears, and arse tonight (well mine and few thousand other folks). One of the few Marty fans who made it to his first (post SuperNovaStardom) appearance. You'll be able to look back and laugh about the first time you saw Marty LIVE ... with Jessica Simpson, a million squealers, and you ALMOST had to drive a Chevy just to get there.

loveconductor that is all true. Yes it was a monumental event for the Lovehammers and Im just glad to have been a part of it. Yeah I almost had to drive that Chevy but also..of all people Marty's cousin came to the rescue and gave me two tickets. I had posted about all the turmoil i went thru getting screwed at every turn to get tix..and they took pity on me. Bless your heart Katie!! Thank YOU again!!

More curiosity ... was he smiling while signing autographs, i.e., loving it or surprised or kinda scared by it all?

He was smiling...and he was just going at a quick pace to sign as much as he could in a limited amt of time. There were chants of "MARTY" Everywhere! He was running from one end of the cubicle they were in to the other while fans kept screaming his name. I think it was kinda overwhelming but he seemed thrilled to be doing it.

Awww. That is so sweet. That Casey Clan, everything I've heard/read makes them sound like regular, down-to-earth, good hearted people. Certainly makes sense, given the way their fair haired boy seems to have turned out.

They really are wonderful. I met his Big Bro John. He had on a shirt that said "BIG BROTHER" on it so fans could recognize him. He said I was the first to recognize him. He gave me a hug. He's a sweetie.

Glad to hear he was good with it. Guess I was projecting there a bit. I think I'd find it a bit scary. And it's only gonna get bigger and hairier. Were the hammers signing too?
