MY FRIEND THAT IS A MANAGER AT A RADIO STATION SAID THE MORE REQUEST NOW WILL PUT THE SONG HIGHER ON THE CHARTS AT RELEASE DAY.
He said that they can play the song as of Jan 17th but if they get enough requests that some stations might work it in sooner.
Get to requesting so that it opens up higher on the music charts

I emailed every friend, foe and co worker I could think of w/ instructions to sign up for their mailing list and to listen to Trees. I also emailed every radio station I could think of.

I emailed some radio stations today and will continue to email more. Does anyone know if its better to contact the DJ's or upper management. I guess we can just do both.  |

I do the DJs and if there's one listed - the program director or music director, but it won't hurt anything to e-mail everyone especially if you've written something up already. |

I've been emailing the program director and certain DJ's. When I get my cards, I will send them out to them as well. Nothing like flooding the stations with everything LH ;D

Hammerheads - start bookmarking the sites for the radio stations that you listen to that you think will play "Trees". A lot of the radio sites I visited had really simple forms to fill out to request a song. martycasey.proboards62.com/index.cgi?board=street&action=display&thread=1136042745&page=1If you're more adventurous you can call in your request or speak to a DJ. From reading everyone's posts - it sounds like even if they're not playing "Trees" right at this moment they are having meetings/discussing it/thinking about whether or not to add it to their playlists so go ahead and start showing your interest for the song! ;D |

I was getting really frustrated here in Chicago because a local station had not yet played "Trees". This particular station was specifically thanked by the LH in the cd insert, which makes it even more frustrating. So I have been stalking them.  Just got an email from the marketing director this morning. She stated that they just received the single yesterday and they will get it in the rotation as quickly as possible. She also indicated that the push by record labels to get singles played doesn't happen as quickly as the cd is released. She said it may seem slow to us, but that things are actually happening very quickly. Just thought I would share. Others may be feeling the same frustration.  |
