I always thought that getting the CD on the loud speakers at a store is brilliant!! We discussed this a bit in another thread after someone "accidentally" left theirs playing. Check it out about 7 posts down: martycasey.proboards62.com/index.cgi?board=street&action=display&thread=1138997653But most people think that you should approach the store manager first and possibly try the local stores rather than the mass merchandisers.

Thanks, Radioclash. I couldn't remember where that thread was! Independently owned music stores would be a good shot. Or stores/cafes on college campuses.

you know, I have not seen the first LH CD in my area and I am kinda pissed about it. The only place I have not yet checked is Best Buy but with the luck I have had looking for it, I would not be suprised if they did not have it either. I am gonna have to bump some heads in these stores!
however, I did go to the mall in Mobile, AL over the weekend and hit a few stores there and moved some CD's to thier proper places... eye level, hot new music sections and such.
Doing what I can but these hicks around here are just not cooperating!

country music Sorry, did I just vomit? I guess country music has its place but I am no more a fan of it than I am INXS! Yes, it is frustrating out there... especially when you see TONS of Kelly Clarkson and even Bo Bice (don't get me wrong, I think they both have great voices) on the racks but get a REAL singer/songwriter ARTIST on the racks is just too much to ask for!

Exactly! I just want to see a little equality, and it'd make me happy.

Yeah, I worked at a best buy once a while ago and we were pretty much in control of what was heard on the loud speakers. If you feel comfortable approaching a manager, go ahead. All they can say is no. And if employees do not have the power to put something in, they'll still send you to the manager anyways.
Nothing to lose by trying.

I hope he does give the CD a try. The DVD though I think is out of print by now. Even though he may have been able to order it, there'll probably be notice that it is out of stock. There's some write-ups at Amazon.com Mine is the one at the bottom - tinyurl.com/nffz9I absolutely love it! For me it is a must-have. No question about it.

Yeah I have the DVD RAW and love it. It has got some really great performance stuff and some really really funny stuff with the guys.
I would also point out if you have young children you screen it first. It is kinda R rated.
I hope the record store guy really checks the CD out I don't know anyone who hears it that doesn't like.
Let us after you check back with him.

I am lucky. I have 2 Best Buys within 20 minutes of my house. They have been the best outlet for me. The first time I went in, I grabbed a LH cd and asked the BB employee if he could play it before I bought it. He said sure and when the songs started (30 sec clips), I was singing all the words and the BB employee said "I thought you hadnt heard it before?" I chuckled and said "no I'm very familiar with their music, just needed my Lovehammer fix while I was shopping" We then started talking etc. and he said he was going to buy the cd before he left work. Now when I go in, he says "how' our Lovehammer Lady today?" and puts them on loud speaker. ;D

Well I haven't got the raw CD yet but I just wanted to tell about a party I just came back from and I don't see a topic related so I'm going to tell it here its kind of related Its about promoting but instead of a store its a party, so I brought the CD with me (husband looked at me like i was nuts) I figured if there was a DJ at the party I was going to ask him to play trees from it so half way through the party I finally got the courage to ask I went up and said I have a request but I've brought my own music he laughed and I said this band is really great they played in New York opened for inxs he said I've never heard of them I said well there rock and if you play trees I would really appreciate it and he said he would about 15 minutes later after they served the cake it was quiet and the next thing I here is casualty I was like telling everyone theres one of my songs its the lovehammers and immediately following they played trees it was like the best part of the whole party and then I was happy at least a room full of 150 people got to here lovehammers because of me. I can sleep well tonight I've done my deed for the day

Just keep checking Ebay for the Live/Raw DVD. That is the only place I think you can get it now. There's a thread about it in the Hammerheads section.

Target & Best Buy have it stocked well at the stores near me. The book stores usually will have at least 1 copy. Try chatting with the manager or a clerk see if they will stock it. Other people have done this, maybe they can give you better advice.....
