Found a music website that's severely lacking of all things Lovehammers?
Let us know and we will help let the site know that we want to see the Lovehammers represented!

I just got really busy I sent skinnys an email asking if they'll be stocking the new album when it is released. I also asked if they could put a review of it on the website. vulcanet- I joined www.globaldust.com and posted a small comment on the forum. Penny- I had some issues with the music site you requested. I was logged in but could post. Not sure there, i checked it out though. top work radioclash- I suggested Access Atlanta do a cd review.

Penny, do you have to register to comment on this site, because I couldn't register - something to do with being outside the US I think? lala - couldn't access the forum on that site either, but will try again.

I came across a forum called The Depot Club. The Depot is a venue here in Brisbane. I'm gonna set up a Lovehammers thread and see how it goes. www.depotclub.com/forumcome post a reply or something.

There's an interesting article in the May 2006 issue of Alternative Press magazine (alternative music mag). It is about stimtvmusic.comHere's some excerpts from the article: Faced with the impossible task of finding decent music videos online, the folks at stimtvmusic.com came up with a solution. Launched last October, the California-based company has created a way to check out streaming videos by a huge range of artists, from Bjork to My Chemical Romance to unsigned bands on the verge of blowing up.
~~~~~~~
What's the mission statement for StimTV? Answer - The be-all, end-all goal for Stim TV is to have every movie, television show, and music video ever made on our site so people could search for it and it will come up in this awesome way. Right now, we're getting new stuff up on the site every day. We get videos from unsigned bands, and all the indie labels. We are always working constantly to get in touch with labels with bands to get more. We want everybody to send videos to us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We've really put a lot of personalized effort into getting bands that might not have record deals to send us their work. We have people on the staff devoted to making contact with these groups and telling them about this new resource for them. We've actually gotten a ton of crazy videos from unsigned bands, and we love them all. If a video has good enough sound and film quality, we'll even use live shows and pull a song from it. It's all about media quality. And if you don't have a video, we might even send out a crew to film a show.

Here's some more info about stimTVmusic from the site's FAQ: profile.stimtv.com/faq.phpHow can I get my band’s videos on stimTVmusic? Submitting your music video to stimTVmusic is simple. Click on “submit my video” in the menu, fill out the form, and mail in the video as instructed. We use our own discretion as to whether or not we actually use videos we get, but as long as the audio is clear and the video quality isn’t crappy, we will most likely put it up. If you don’t have a music video, you can edit live footage of a song or have someone interview your band and send it in. My band is playing in Southern California soon. Can stimTVmusic interview us? Definitely. Send us details about the show and our interview / film crew will try to set up an interview with your band. If you want, they can also film part of your set and sync up live footage to a CD track of your choice. Any interviews we film can be mailed to you or your record label, manager, or publicist for free, upon request. Email our interview coordinator for more information. So it seems that this site is interested in just about anything music video-wise and is also willing to help promote bands by putting interviews up. Do you think the band would be interested in this site?

I just read an interesting article in The International Herald Tribune (originally from The Boston Globe) called "Music swapping the old fashioned way" by Hiawatha Bray.It details how the web site lala.com will encourage its music-lover members to exchange CDs thru the post, which is not illegal (unless the person sending the CD keeps digital files of the recording.) It will be operating for public sometime this summer. Here is an excerpt from the article: "Members publish "have" lists of the music CDs they own. Because so many music lovers copy their CDs to their computers, lala.com provides software that can generate a list of albums on a computer's hard drive. In addition, users can log into the La La Web site and type in the names of the albums in their collections. Users also create "Want" lists of Cds they would like to own. La La members can then search each other's lists. Members also get postage-paid mailing envelopes for shipping CDs. When a member sees a desired disk, he puts in a request for it. If he or she is willing the woner of the disk addresses it to the other member nad mails it. The recipient pays La La $1 plus 49 cents for postage. There is no annual membership fee. ..."I know that many of us have already started a music swap, but it might be worth looking into La La some more if we can think of a way it can support Hammers. For those interested in La La's philosophy, here is the intro from the company co-founder: www.lala.comThe founders of 'la la', John, Billy, Anselm and I are devout music fans and created the service for the benefit of artists and fellow music fans. I'm writing this message to encourage you to do right by the artists you enjoy through our service. Despite what is depicted on MTV's Cribs, a wonderfully entertaining show, most musicians don't live large with a big house and five cars. Rather, the majority of musicians struggle to make a living from their recordings and must depend on other income producing activities such as performing concerts or selling merchandise. I'll be the first to advocate that artists should make a lot more from each CD. 'la la' is taking the unprecedented action of giving artists 20% of our revenues from used CDs, no used record store or online site does this today. I'll also promise to work tirelessly (only sleep four hours a night anyway- this is being written at 3:31 a.m. so pardon my punctuation) to reduce overhead in marketing costs across the industry, so artists can make more from selling their music. I ask you to do your part by doing the right thing: remove songs from your iPod or PC if you've agreed to send the CD to another member. If you want to listen to that CD again, just add it to your Want List and help us support that artist you can't get enough of. You'll have access to plenty of good music to enjoy in the meantime. We'll make sure of that! Respect the artists and Karma will be on your side. Regards, Bill Nguyen

That site is very interesting. I can't believe that they plan on doing this for only $1.49 per CD minus what they pay the artists.
I'm all for it. My only question is if they will have some way to promote the music other than lists. Like do they have sound clips available or a place to put reviews. Or even just an 'if you liked this CD you may want to try..."
