Dino has provided us a list of indie record stores in this thread. Dino said that the band has posters that they can send you to put up in these stores. I'm gathering info about each store and compiling it here: www.lovehammersecards.com/indiestores.html. I'm still updating that list, but the link will remain the same. Tips for STing Record Stores: 1. Post in this thread which store you're going to street team (so we don't have multiple people STing the same store.) 2. Wear your Hammer Crew Tshirt if you have it, or any Lh Tshirt. If you don't have a Lh Tshirt, wear a Tshirt from another cool rock band. You want to dress the part. 3. Find out if they have the CD in stock. If they do and you can afford it, buy one. Money talks.  4. Take flyers and/or business cards with you and ask to leave them there in the store somewhere. Then, if they are receptive to that, ask permission to put up a poster later. 5. After you get permission to put up a poster, PM me with your address and then post in this thread to let us know your STing results. 6. Take your Lh buttons with you; if the sales clerk is wearing buttons, maybe they would like a Lh button too. Remember, be polite, even if you don't get a friendly response. Any other ideas? This is probably answered at the LH forum thread you posted, but since I can't access it - Just curious as to how these stores are selected? Are these the weighted ones or just stores that we know carry Lovehammers?

These are stores that Dino posted in the "Album Sales/ Weighted Stores/ Billboard 200" thread. He didn't say that they're weighted, but it makes sense that they would be. Besides that fact, indie stores are more likely to let us put up posters & flyers than stores like Best Buy and Target.

6. Take your Lh buttons with you; if the sales clerk is wearing buttons, maybe they would like a Lh button too.
I've heard of people doing this with Target sales clerks. It might work with sales clerks at other stores too.

Hey guys - I thought I'd share my experience I had with a local indie record store today. For once - I had it easy - whew! The guy there was already a fan.  He was a fan of RSINXS, went to the show, went to the M&G, and is ready for the next concert. The only "mistake" I made was saying Lovehammers at first and he hadn't heard anybody saying it that way. He was only familiar with Marty Casey & Lovehammers. |

Questions? Hey....I am going to go to Amoeba Music (hollywood) on Saturday..I go there all the time, but have never asked to put up a poster. I will see what I can get done. I have actually thought the guys should perform here...this is the perfect crowd for LH...they have Indie performers all the time, I know playing a record store sounds a little small for the guys but if they did the Friday night performance they would get so much exposure. I think I will check into that as well while I am there Saturday. exposure/exposure/exposure. So Amoeba (Hollywood)will be covered on Saturday... P.S. if anyone is going to the Best Buy thing in Chicago this Sat, and you can give me a cellcert, please PM me., and I will give you my #..I will SOOO owe you one. ha ha ha. |

Are we still hitting indie record stores? The posters from Lh are running out, but Dan and the boys are trying to get some more. In the mean time, 8 x 10 flyers are great too. Print them on bright colors to catch the eye. eta: If you do get to put up posters, take pictures! We love to see Street Teaming in action! |
