About the show:

In the wealthy, seaside community of Neptune, California, Hearst College stands as a beacon of higher education, but within this idyllic and sun-drenched campus, higher education is not always what it appears. In between the beer-soaked dorm parties and all-night cram sessions, the student body is facing a terrifying threat. Luckily for them, incoming freshman and part-time private investigator Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell, "Deadwood") is used to taking on a few extra-curricular activities.

Hoping to leave the ghosts of Neptune High behind her, Veronica, along with boyfriend Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring, "Judging Amy") and best friends Wallace Fennel (Percy Daggs III, "The Guardian") and Mac (guest star Tina Majorino, "Napoleon Dynamite"), are now freshmen at Hearst College. But with each determined to soak up the college experience in their own way, it quickly becomes obvious that some ghosts are here to stay. Even their high school graduation was marred when Veronica’s unlikely ally Eli "Weevil" Navarro (Francis Capra, "C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation") was arrested and dragged out of the ceremony in handcuffs.

Add to that the increasingly dangerous private investigator business run by Veronica’s father Keith (Enrico Colantoni, "Just Shoot Me"), and her spreading reputation around campus as a girl who can fix the unfixable, it doesn’t take long to realize the Hearst College has never faced a student like Veronica Mars.

Building on its trademark twists and turns, with a new campus, new faces and new surprises, the third season of "Veronica Mars" promises to keep both old and new fans guessing alike.

I am a *big* Veronica Mars fan. This is the one show that I have to see each week. Veronica is smart, sharp, witty, beautiful, a great friend, and someone you wouldn't want to mess with! She's sometimes compare as being an updated Nancy Drew. Having read many Nancy Drew novels as a kid, I can tell you that Nancy never went through anything close to what Veronica has gone through - rape, the murder of her best friend, questions about her paternity, a run away mother, and that's just the first season! More importantly, Veronica survived it all, and it just made her stronger. If you're not watching, you should be!

I can't wait until October 3rd! Who's with me?

I too enjoy this show, the only problem is it comes on at the same time as several good shows. I hope they repeat it on Saturday like last year. If not, I'm gonna face some tough choices.

I LOVE Veronica Mars! I've been watching since season one and I actually bought the season one DVD and watch it all the time! I can't wait till October 3rd... Veronica and Logan together!! I really do like them together. I can't wait!!!

Last year, VM was up against Lost and another show, so they did have a sucky time slot. Now they're up against Law and Order: CI (NBC), Knights of Prosperity (ABC), Standoff (Fox), and The Unit (CBS). I think that out of that list, VM is distinct. Three of the other shows are standard crime dramas and the third is a sitcom. Everyone is hoping that Gilmore Girls fans will like VM. I think that's a strong possibility. Hopefully, VM will keep a large portion of the GG viewers. Of course, I don't watch Gilmore Girls, so Tuesdays at 8, I'll be watching House.

Another change is this season, instead of one season-long mystery, there's going to be three shorter mysteries. This is supposed to help new, mid-season viewers be able to jump in. I kind of like the season-long mysteries, so I will miss that. In the ideal world, VM would have three mini-mysteries that relate to a season long story. We'll have to wait and see. As long as I get my VM, I'm happy.

Alright, Natasha! I'm a LoVe fan too. They have such good chemistry, even when they're not "together." I can't wait to find out what college is going to be like for them, and to find out what happened to Weevil. That broke my heart last season when he was arrested at graduation in front of his grandmother.

We need a countdown clock thing....

A long time ago.. we used to be friends

I love that Mac is still on the show. I thought the mystery this week was kind of lame. I guess I just don't like the whole "setting up the scenario" thing about the first shows of the season. Next week looks interesting.

I think I went all ADD or missed an episode last season. Can someone explain to me the whole thing w/ Kieth? What was going on there?

At the end of last season, Kendall walked into Keith's office with a briefcase. We didn't see what was in the briefcase, but it prompted Keith to stand up Veronica at the airport. Kendall used to run with the Fitzpatrick guy that was in jail. She went to jail for him, taking the fall for a scam that they were both in on, but he got sent to jail for something else anyway. Liam, the Fitzpatrick brother who was not in jail, wanted a share in the money that Kendall got from Cassidy's (aka "Beaver") business dealings. She got millions when he jumped off that roof, because her name was on all the papers so it would be legal. So, Kendall was on the run from Liam Fitzpatrick. Apparently, Kendall hired Keith to get her out of the country and/or hide her, and pick up her Fitzpatrick when he got paroled. That was all really confusing, but I know there has to be more to the story than that.

I'm glad Mac is a part of the regular cast too. She's my favorite character. Yeah, the first episode was kind of slow, because they're trying to lure in new viewers. I did like how Veronica took down that TA in her criminology class. He was such a jerk!
