I think only one more, aussie --the paolos are absolutely horrible!!! But they're a short-lived pain! Even worse is that naasty mother from Fla and her two children (Booohoooo my race car drivin' husband died and we love jesus and since we're christian we can do and say anything and we'll be forgiven but curse anyone we think is un-christian) do not get me started. Most amusing are the dad with his daughters and the three siblings --except that the boys are completely chauvenistic.
amy, i was routing for Cho's too but they were really playing like idiots. My son was screaming at the TV -- it was hilarious.
In the meantime, TAR Asia is pretty funny except I think insurance isn't quite the issue it might be for the US production --the teams aren't travelling too far, but they are doing dangerous things. (Get your next clue from a pit of snakes. You have 2 minutes!) Pretty amusing. The racers were here in HK a few weeks ago to tape an episode and some of my daughter's classmates helped one of the teams find something!

Okay, just saw this week's TAR and what can I say, but this must be the first season I am not pulling for someone to win. Just PLEASE NOT ROB & KIMBERLY. That's funny, I was just saying the exact same thing to someone the other day.

omg i just wrote a whole recap for amy and then it got cut out. too tired to do it all again. the upshot is the blondies finished last but were not eliminated and must come in first or have 30 min penalty next week. Bama proved its resiliency, overcoming a yield and last palce to finish 2nd. and R&K didn't fight!

hang in there, aussie --the Paolos are the most self-destructive force ever put on this planet! not much longer!
in the meantime I was LMAO watching TAR Asia because this weeks' stop was beautiful Sydney! I knew ALL of the locations. climb the Harbour bridge, go the Rocks, find Mrs. Macquarie's chair, ferry to Manly, go the HMS Bounty! The best part was that contestants had to videotape locals singing "Clip Go The Shears, Boy!" Do you know it?!?

Okay, I'm gonna presume Amy has given up on TAR and is now watching Housewives every Sunday! Let's see, I missed the beginning, but naturally the blondes caught up and passed the other teams during the first part. Everyone had to eat camel meat kebabs, which looked pretty darned good --but then I live in China where anything goes! Everyone caught up at the airport and were off to Barcelona, where they had to choose between wearing/carrying giant parade costumes and searching for a clue amongst a pile of tomatoes while being pelted with said tomatoes. Druggie-models boys and blondies went for giant walking, R&K and Bama went for tomatoes. I have to say I thought it was HILARIOUS watching R&K completely lose it during the tomato fight. ;D They are awful awful people. Anyway, they all race to the pit stop --the blondes must come in 1st or they have a 30 minute penalty. R&K are first, Bama 2nd and Pretty (?) boys third. The nasty pageant queens are out and it's down to the final 3 for the finale next week. From the previews it seems Bama has no chance, but who knows. The thing that really creeped me out was Rob crying about how much he wants to win and then to marry Kimberly. blech. I will say they deserve each other, but no way do they deserve a million bucks.

Thanks chk! I have it TiVo'd, but don't know if a football game pre-empted it. I was rooting for the Cho brothers, but since they got eliminated, now I'm rooting for the pretty boys/druggies. (I can never remember these names!) Cindy likes the crazy couple, Rob & Kimberly. Cindy blames me for getting her interested in the show. She'd never watched it until I kept talking about it and she tuned in. I believe she watches every week now.

Hey. I actually like all three of the teams left in and would be fine with any of them winning. The Bama girls just never give up no matter what...and they are the first all female team in the finals (or so the host said...I have never watched this show before this season...this year it came on before two of my favorite don't miss shows on the same channel and Amy was such a big fan of it that I started watching). So yeah, it is a lot Amy's fault that I paid attention to it after 60 mins while waiting for Cold Case and Without a Trace.

Hey Cindy, welcome to TAR madness. The show is seriously addictive. I blame the theme music -- as soon as it starts my heart rate increases! I was hoping Chos would do well, and I liked the coal miner and wife, but now I guess I like Bama because they are SO UNLIKELY a team to be in the final 3. The pretty boys are just like 3 or 4 other teams that have won previously -- but even less smart. And ya'll know how I feel about Rob & Kim. Imagine them as parents!

Friday on my way home from work, I saw the Cho brothers in the subway station. (I recognized the one’s ponytail from across the platform.) And for two people who just raced around the world, they looked awfully...lost.

;D ;D ;D now we know why they didn't win! that is hysterical. Okay finale, just to finish this up -- everyone flies to Paris, Bama takes the lead by flying to Orly instead of Charles de Gaulle, but everyone catches up on transport --train to Caen, skydive over Omaha beach, train back to Paris, clue at Place de la Concorde, then fly to NYC. This whole episode was a bit anti-climatic. Because Bama messed up and tried to fly to NY from Orly (I shouted NO at the television) we knew they were out of it. Nasty R&K "DON'T SHOUT AT ME, BABE!" and the model/addicts made the early flight to NY, then raced to 42nd St. James and Tyler led the whole way and it's too bad there wasn't a final road block like last season's flags where things can change. It was literally a cab ride to the finish line --not cool. BEST THING ABOUT THE FINALE WAS PREVIEW OF NEXT SEASON -- TAR ALL STARS!!!!OMG, Aussiefan, BJ & Tyler will be back!!

I'm excited about TAR AllStars! What a powerful show it will be....all the teams who have won have been very strong. My favorites....I can't remember their names! Euchena? A black couple - the wife chose to shave her head in a Fast Foward or Road Block. What were their names? I hope we don't see Rob & Amber. I've seen enough of them to last a lifetime. Will Kirby (aka Evil Dr. Will from Big Brother infamy) has said that he and Mike "Boogie" have plans to be on a future TAR. What a team! Woot.

I had to go and find that couples name it was on my mind all day, it was Uchenna and Joyce. I don't know if I could have shaved off my hair. Although she did look okay.

That's it! Uchenna and Joyce. Intelligent, cool, laid back, considerate, good-spirited people. I really liked them.

I loved them too -- almost (but not quite) as much as BJ & Tyler who were my all-time faves.
TAR Asia is still going -- the teams just flew to Calcutta; the episode had one of those "this is not a pit stop, you're still racing" endings. The most interesting thing about TAR Asia is that the Asian competitors have very different takes on things from the westerners. They will scrounge money for a massage at the airport, always eat when they can, and are very civilized to one another. It makes the western team (they live in Bangkok) who are left look pushy, arrogant and like the really really bad guys. Anyway, anyone who can see TAR Asia should check it out -- I think they will soon be in Hong Kong -- you can see where I live!

well the most recent episode was interesting indeed. The biggest problem with TAR Asia is that distances are not that great; really everyone is on top of each other all of the time --they start each leg on almost equal footing. In this episode the western couple had their comeuppance for stealing taxis and generally being too aggressive with everyone else. The other teams all decided to yield them. Of course, that was really a temporary fix as they (Andy & Laura) caught up with the front of the pack immediately. For the detour teams had to either drag a donkey laden with onions down a long street or haul huge burlap bags of dried chilis. The second was shorter but really tough -- the spice got into everyone's eyes, hair, skin, etc --they were all coughing and sputtering. Plus it's hot, sweaty Calcutta. Most teams did the donkey thing. For the road block one person had to make bricks out of cow dung. niiiice. It was blazing hot and even seemed smelly thru the TV screen. Andy & Laura were once again at the front, but everyone caught up and miraculously passed them getting taxis to the pit stop. So whaddya know, the bad guys are out. Must say the team from HK make me laugh. They are two of the least clever people I have ever seen --real gym rat, muscle heads. They almost lost one leg because they couldn't count. Really. Best part was the previews they are showing for TAR All Stars. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH it's gonna be good! xo C
