I've loved music in all kinds of forms ever since I was a youngin' and my dad would play his Hank Williams (not Jr.), Chet Atkins, and Carter family records. Oh yeah, the vinyl stuff. My dad played guitar too.
I think my first concert was for a birthday and I got my dad to take me to see John Denver. The Starland Vocal Band was there too. I know that sounds cheesy, but it was a great concert. I've had crushes on the Bee Gees, Neil Diamond (saw him in concert too, that was awesome), David Bowie, I think even Bobby Sherman for awhile. And I admit I still enjoy listening to a lot of this. Stephanie333, you don't have to throw out all of your old favorites to make room for new! We listen to all kinds of music in our house - country, classical, rock, pop, big band, blues, ... and of course MARTY!
I'm really enjoying all the posts on this thread!

I was more of a Rick Springfield and John Stamos girl. If our Marty graces the cover of any magazine I will buy it! Boy! time does fly by fast...I had liked John Stamos too! To this day, he's still a goodlooking and funny guy, but right now, Marty is the man.

OMG, this thread is taking me way back!! I certainly remember Shaun Cassidy but I actually liked his partner in The Hardy Boys more, Parker Stevenson, I am sure this name is correct? And I loved the original Starsky and Hutch. Ahh David Soul in his younger days, he was my pinup boy. Musically ABBA was big with me, saw their concert in 1977 in Melbourne, Australia, my first concert and I will never forget it til the day i die, it was fantastic. Still like ABBA but have certainly grown in what I like to listen to now, I mean can anyone honestly picture Marty singing and ABBA song!!! Mind you i would certainly listen to it !!! Thanks for the memories !! Helen

Shaun Cassidy was my first concert -- for my 10th birthday!
I must admit that my second concert (J. Geils Band) was VERY different... (I still love JGB, and there will always be a soft spot for SC and "Hey, Deanie")

And I saw Rick Springfield too... my sophomore year of high school (I'm really beginning to date myself here). And I've seen Bon Jovi twice... And I loved the Brat Pack... And I think I might still have a Rex Smith album hidden somewhere... Yes, I too loved Parker Stevenson... Fetishes can be fun!!! ;D

Alright girls, Backformore and Kelz4peaches, I too was and still am a Donny Osmond fan! Cant forget your first true crush! I still have the albums and the first concert I ever went to was the Osmonds. I remember all the screams from the young fans. I was 14. AHHHH young love! My older sister by one year also loved Donny and we used to fight over him, it got so bad that I had to pretend I loved his brother Jay.(AH....sibling rivalry) LOL. I have the giggles when I read the posts from all of us dirty old woman who have the hots for Marty.LOL. I agree with all of you. I was a rock and roll queen, a party girl. Rock and roll was in my heart. Then I fell in love with a man (and his whole family) who loved country music. They looked at me like I was weird. Needless to say country music was slowly taking over my life.alas after 25 years of marriage and 3 kids later We have a mix of music in our house. After watching Rock Star and Hearing and seeing Marty I feel like I have been REBORN again. Thank You Marty! The Rock and Roller inside of me has always been their but you helped bring it back out. Stephanie the rock and roller in you has come back out, but dont let it stiffle your other music selections. Just listen to what ever your heart and soul are craving. Their is a lot of great music out their----past and present.

My best friend loved Andy Gibb and she covered her bedroom wall in pictures of him and called her bedroom the Andy Gibb Museum. ;D My mother wouldn't let me stick pictures up all over the wall, so I was like a junkie with magazines piled high under the bed and I would sneak looks at Shaun when ever she wasn't around. I suppose it will be the same now...don't think my husband would appreciate me sticking up pictures of Marty all over the bedroom (can't understand why not thought? )....I guess I am destined to keep my guilty secrets under the bed.

Tiger Beat! OMG! Loved Robbie Benson and Leif Garrett. Wanted to look like Kristy McNichol, got same hairstyle, etc. Wow that was awhile ago. Wasn't there someone else with Shawn Cassidy? I can't remember.

My hubby tolerates my poster of Orlando Bloom as Legolas on our bedroom door. On the hall side no less. It's one that shows mostly head and shoulders with him pulling an arrow back in the bow. My girls love it too and my nephews (11 & 13) thought I was so COOL when they came to visit and saw it!

I can't remember. Shawn Cassidy & Parker Stevenson! I was so anti-Shawn Cassidy that I put up pics of Parker...lol. I was so bad! My best friend was a huge SC fan. I had a life size poster of Andy Gibb on my closet door...SHIRTLESS. This is when I started my obsession for chest hair...lol.

Thank You! I just couldn't place his name for some reason. I too was anti Shawn cuz everybody liked him and I had to be different. I also remember being partial to Barry Gibb as opposed to Andy! LOL! And them came Nazareth and Kiss! and the good boys were gone!

When I saw this I had to look. I had his album when I was just baby and had a little crush on him. Now my absolute major heart throb love for me for many, many years was John Taylor of Duran Duran. I could not sleep I could not concentrate all I did was dream about him all day long. I though he was the most beautiful guy I had ever laid eyes on. I used to buy Teen Beat and Tiger Beat and just swoon. This is exactly the way I feel about Marty now. It has not happened to me since John Taylor. I remember I shared a bedroom with my sister and on my side of the room I had poster up of John Taylor, Rick Springfield (he was #2) and Matt Dillon. She had Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, John Schneider (Dukes of Hazzards) she was younger than me and Scott Baio on her side. One day I remember we had a huge fight about something and we started to tear each others posters off the wall. When she tore John's poster I nearly had a heart attack. Luckily we said sorry and taped them back together. If Tiger Beat or Teen Beat was out now and Marty was plastered all over it I would definately go buy it. maybe undercover Ah flashbacks of youth
