Night Diva-- Woowee that was a close call! I had the front door open with just the screen door closed and family of skunks walked down the sidewalk as those they owned the place and my dog went lunging for the door. I got the door closed before mama skunk decided we were after her young. My heart is racing at what the house could have potentially smelled like.  |

It's not Dino, but it's the other thing I'm doing right now. Soon, I began to look forward to seeing him coming around the back of the bus, and would sit on the stiff, cold plastic of the bus station to wait for him, at which he would spot me, and his face would light up with a rare, bright smile. He would jerk his head at me, and together we would enter the longer bus to the high school. January turned to February, frozen and icy, and February melted into March, a spastic month of ice rain one day then mid spring temperatures the next. One such March day, there was a promise of warmth and slushy ice, when the air seemed to freeze, and fluffy fat snowflakes began drifting down. I snarled against the snow slopping onto the sidewalks, cuddled up in my green plaid jacket and striped sweater, when I spotted sweet Ede walking up in his ungainly stride, arms wrapped about himself, for he was dressed in silky blue basketball shorts and a yellow t-shirt, shivering as his ponytail was dark from that morning’s shower. |
