yeah - I'm torn about the roommate thing --- part of me figures I will need the time for "me" space after overdosing on meeting bunches of new people and it would be nice to escape to a room to myself --- on the other hand, it would be a way to cover some of the costs -- though I got a package deal on room/motel and got a pretty good deal. we'll see - if someone's looking for a room and doesn't mind being out by O'Hare airport - I may do that

Yeah - I get a lot of head-shaking - but when it comes right down to it friends/family are seeing me happier than I have been in a long time - I was "living life in a coma" and Lovehammers and my Asylum Friends let me out!!! (of course the 30-year-old that I'm hooked up with makes me feel pretty young at heart too!!) I've been listening to Lovehammers since I got home a couple of hours ago - usually post-grocery shopping I am in a foul mood and just want to take a nap!! Today, I'm all smiles, listening to the music, checking out the pics/reviews, and what my buddies online are up to-- there are worse addictions I could have!! Never considered using a beer bottle for a guitar stop (I think that's what the little bar you put on there is called - I used to play guitar a long time ago)

Big Party at Friends' House tomorrow - mostly people I don't know, so may take sweetie and stay a short while, then duck out - since I have rehearsal for community theater play that opens July 13 tomorrow night too - plus if I get home in time, our little town does their fireworks display on the 3rd every year so as not to compete with the larger towns north and south of us For the 4th sweetie is talking about staking out a spot on the beach for the day to see the fireworks that night --- Should be fun! Marty balcony hopping

I joined this walking group which meets on Sunday mornings at 8am. I'm such a night person. That's like telling someone else that they are meeting at 4am. This week the group voted to meet next week at 7am because it has been so hot. I laughed I'll have to come in my pjs! I"m going to try to do it--even if I have to come back and nap. It's a nice way to get an hour of exercise in. Talkign with others the walk goes by really fast. Wonder if I could to it in my sleep!

I hear you on the early morning thing -- when sweetie moved in the beginning of this month, he needed a ride into work by 7 or 7:30 in the morning - this from someone who sometimes didn't go to bed before 3 or 4!!! I am finally pretty regularly crashing by 1 or 2 --- and still generally need an afternoon nap!

That's so cool.
I don't know where I would fit it in right now but I'd love to do some theatre for the fun of it again. I wrote a play several years ago that was workshoped at the Los Angeles theatre center. I'd love to rework it and have it have a full production. Has to go on my someday list right now but anytime I hear other people talking about the theatre--I get that itch to get back into something.

I know - I think that itch is something that is always there once you start - back in the day when I had a full-time job and a husband I just couldn't fit it in then the health problems started getting worse - fibromyalgia/chronic pain & fatigue plus recently diagnosed bipolar --- anyway - even though I can't work full-time any more, I still have skills - and theater is a great way to use some of them and also gets me out of the house, which is good for me, too I was thinking the other day that it would be so cool to direct a play that I wrote - I wrote one back in college - maybe I should dust it off and see what people think!!

I'm so glad you have your theatre to go to. When people are dealing with chronic health issues it is so easy to get depressed and isolated. Nice to have something you love to connect you with others.

And as for that play--dust it off--read it and see what you think right now. Share it with someone you trust. Do a reading in your living room! Go for it!

My dog has been waiting for a walk and now that it has cooled down outside I should take her before I get too lazy tonight. Good chatting with you!

It has helped a lot - and they are very understanding and work with me when I've gone thru bad spells --- I was quite concerned about getting an acting role - wasn't sure I could still memorize lines - but I did it!! - and even got quite a few compliments (one aspect of fibromyalgia is difficulty with short-term memory) I tell you - my reality is my pain levels vary day-to-day and even on the medications that I take, I get mood swings and other stuff going on - don't always know if it's physical or mental or both --when I was at my disability hearing, the voc rehab rep started listing jobs that someone with my skills and work background "should" be able to do --- and I just burst into tears --- because I would love to be able to stay focused and healthy long enough to hold down a job - but the last few temp jobs I tried they loved me, started talking about hiring me full time, then I would get sick with some crud that people working sick would share - and I'd be down for a week cause my immune system takes longer to recover than most --- and they said "bye, we need someone who is more reliable." That's when I gave in and filed for disability assistance - and that process took 3 years!!!! If it hadn't been for a good friend who hired me to be his in-home caregiver, I would have been living in my van or something -- don't know what I would have done ---- but somehow I figured out ways to survive. Well - didn't mean to tell you my whole life story --- hee hee but thanks for listening!!! Just got a call - time to go meet up with sweetie and bring him home for the evening -- hopefully will be back a little later!!!

Part of what i love about this board is we squee but we also connect and support each other on a deeper level. We can't do that unless we are willing to share. So no worries--thanks for sharing.
