In honor of Penny's birthday tomorrow, I declare September 8 to be Penny's Day by the power vested in me when I stole..I mean gained the title of Queen of the Fangirls. I seal this decree w/ my royal SP figure so that it is official.

This is from a thread I started about the tie Penny got signed for me. In order to keep the picture I had to remove the quote box. This was from last December.

I've been keeping a secret about how I feel about Marty's ties. I really don't think they look good on him. (except when hanging from belt loops) Believe me, I love (and have gushed about) every other aspect of Marty. Anyway, some how, Penny found out about my secret feelings for that dang tie and we were intellectually discussing it on pages 13-16 (?) in the LH Stills/Animation. This is one of my replies to one of her replies..

One of these days I will have to ask her how she knew about the tie.

Anyway, she threatened to murder me if he wore a tie at Aragon. He did. She phoned me in the middle of "Better of Walk Away" to let me know that he was wearing the tie. Fortunately, I was saved by her bliss from partying with the band.

So, Penny and I are talking about a present that she has for me. She breaks down and tells me that she took a red tie to the concert and had Marty sign it for me. I'm all aflutter.

I tell my friends at church, I tell my fellow teachers, I tell my sister, I tell my students. I tell almost everyone that I will soon be getting a tie signed by Marty Casey and promising to bring it in and show them.

Today, I meet the mail person and am so giddy to get my package. I take it in. Open it. And fall to the floor laughing. My face turned bright red. My sister was questioning and all I could do was hold up the tie.

You see, the tie looks almost identical to this one:


but Marty wrote at the bottom of the tie: "Marty was here" with an arrow pointing down.

I will post a picture as soon as I can. It will be more humorous then.

Penny rocks! Thank you Penny for my Christmas present.

Fast forward to the wedding..I'm singing "Oh Holy Night." I start out fine when suddenly a camera flashes.

I wonder..Did it bother Marty the first time a camera flashed while he was singing? That was about the yucky high note in the stupid song.

The next thought I have is "Don't think about Straight."
Too late. I struggled to get throught the rest of the song because I kept hearing "lost control at 23"


Thanks Penny for making me mess up in front of all my family.

Of course that was before I got up and did my second song decently and then tripped coming off the stage.

1. She was in a sorority in college (heee! she's going to kill me for that one)

2. She's a natural blonde (for real)

3. She can make a train cake or a lamb cake from scratch

4. She went to the same college as Bobby and was there at the same time

5. She's recently lost a bunch of weight (even though she was never fat to begin with)

6. She's a great mommy.

7. She's a great editor.

8. She's a great writer.

9. She's a great mod.

10. She's a great friend. The best friend.

Okay...so maybe you already knew those things. But if I told you some of the other things, she would have broken my nose.

Thanks for all the best concert memories. The LHC from the Aragon was the most fun! The best part about those calls has to be trying to translate what you scream into the phone and then just making stuff up instead. I always loved the "SHIRTS OFF!!" I got EVERY time and I would roll around laughing. Thanks Penny!

"But the best part was...when Marty jumps into my pit area and comes RIGHT TOWARD ME. I think my heart stopped. But I do know that I was beckoning him to me. So he jumps up ON THE RAIL in front of me. Like, where my elbows have been resting. And he is balancing up there singing away. Naturally, I am concerned for his well-being, so I reach out and steady his leg. (And by steady, I mean stroke lovingly.) His leg was trembling. Either that, or my whole body was shaking so much it was being passed through my hand and affecting him. I tried to stop touching that leg. But I could not. I literally could not stop touching him.

When he finally jumped down I almost passed out. And I turned around and hugged those O.A.R. girls so hard they were dying laughing."

We haven't had a chance to chat and get to know each other as well as some of the oater fangirls have, but I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you the happiest of birthdays a fangirl can have. It is very clear how much you are loved and appreciated here and for all the right reasons. Thank you for making .org a fun place for all the LH fans! So anyway, Happy Birthday to you!

Penny's posts from the earlier concerts were so addicting in the beginning. Once I realized she posted more often in the Asylum, I became a lurker there until I just had to start replying to her post. Then I had the honor of meeting her in person at my very first Lovehammer concert. She was such a doll and is the sweetest and biggest supporter to all fangirls. Right after I went through the Meet & Greet line and had my Marty moment, Penny was standing there with open arms to give me a big hug.

Penny, thanks for being the special person that you are. You have a great big heart and I wish you the best for you and your family. I still think about how we shared a big laugh after that concert with Kelly at I think Mother Hubbard's. You know, when Kelly almost spit her coke out through her nose as that guy with writting on his forehead was trying to talk to her. It was the kind of laugh that you have when you're with old friends and are real comfortable to let it rip. It did feel like being with old friends.

I was reading old posts yesterday and came across this. This is one of the many reasons I just love Penny! No matter what mood I can be in, she can make me laugh. She is one of the funniest people I have met...take a look, this is from when Marty had posted on the .org.

Anyway, I read an interview you did after Rockstar in which you said that it means a lot to you when you hear that people are taking you into their lives by listening to your music. So I want you to know just how much you are in my life. I listen to your music so often that every morning I wake up with a different Lovehammer song in my head. Today it was Call of Distress - one of my favorites. Your voice is in my head every day.

Oh, here I am again. I wanted you to know that while I was walking to work this morning in the 11 degree frigid cold all I could think about was how glad I am that I live in Chicago. And I keep looking for you. I always imagine that if I saw you, just walking around Chicago, I would be all cool and just point to my iPod and indicate that I am listening to your music. But in reality, of course, I would probably just poke someone next to me in the eye and then fall off the curb right onto my ass.

Penny, you are a complete doll. You crack me up, you are great friend to talk to and lean on, you always make people feel welcomed, you make great lists (2nd to DG of course, I could get hurt otherwise), you have an "interesting" taste in beverages *snicker*, you have great taste in men (Go DirtyPhil) and "thank you for being you"! ;D ;D ;D

So I am sitting at my desk at work...crying. I love you guys. Of course, I am not so sappy that I don't recognize that this is DG's sneaky way of gathering together all my most embarassing and idiotic moments for everyone to see....

Then Marty is there. Putting his arm around me. THUD. I think I then asked him to take a picture with me because the next thing I know some guy (their manager?) has the camera and takes a pic. NO Flash, though! So Marty says "Hey, that didn't flash. Take another." And I look at him and say "Oh, Marty, you think of everything." And he laughed. AT MY JOKE. I am a queen of comedy. Anyway, my buddy Mike rips the camera out of this guy's hand --determined to get a good pic (god, I owe him). While they are fiddling with the camera, I grin at Marty and say, "I am shaking like a leaf." So he starts squeezing my shoulder. THUD. I think then that I told him how much I love his music and that I listened to them the whole way down to the show and I was ready to rock, but I am afraid that it came out more like this: "um...kewlearcs nkajhjlleww whiuirewl; Marty..jkwuirueiwm hee." So Mike finally takes the pic, Marty says thanks, nice to meet you. Again, I think I said something intelligent here like thanks, but I'm not betting the farm on it.
