Plus one dropped a certain expletive in class...the look on his face...man, I should have been mad and kicked his butt to the principal's office...but for some reason, I guess it was the crazy day, it just cracked me up. At least he was on topic...we were discussing Oedipus and Iocaste...and he went off about...sleeping with your mother...to put it more delicately.

Another directly disobeyed me during eighth hour. He walked out before he was dismissed...so I'm taking the principal a form first thing in the morning. He's not going to sass me like he did.

Well, all the teachers just wish they'd stop with the schedule changes. They printed out our absentee slips (computer bubble sheets) BEFORE CHRISTMAS and now they're changing everyone around and no one knows what the heck is going on. I think we should get to sign off on whether or not a kid can change which hour he or she has our class...because that way we could at least be TRYING to prevent forseeable discipline issues. The poor study hall monitor had 77 kids seventh hour...now that number is sitting at 99!!!! Almost 100 kids for one adult!!!!

It's a stress headache. I went for a walk at the lake this afternoon and that helped...that is until I got home and got to thinking about it all again.

Good - don't take your students sass. 99 kids for 1 adult - that is not fair.

Yeah, maybe. I'm still digging out of the avalanche of research papers...*sigh*...well, they'll just have to wait another day...and the kids will have to get over it.
Maggot was the one who sassed me and that really made me quite angry. I know he's just trying to be funny...but me going to the principal may get him suspended...he's been in trouble a lot this year. I just need a little backup. I wouldn't be so angry about it except we got a NEW student today and I won't have them making him think he can get away with murder.
Yeah, 99 to 1 is not fair. I asked why he could have so many - since classroom teachers (myself included) are limited to 30...well the fact is unless you're a core teacher (English, Math, Science, etc.) they legally can do that...but it's not right.
*looks for LH cd* I left it in the CD player at work...I have the mp3s here though...
