Ugh, I don't even want to think about my novel. There are so many little things I need to tie up before I write the ending. Its like a friggin' Hydra-I fix something, and one of the main characters and her big mouth make ten more problems. #ROTFL# If it makes you feel better, I have most of my novel completed ...but, I can't seem to write the 'dirty deed' scenes (it is a paranormal romance)...LOL...I just can't write it...what to say?...It sounds so perverted on paper...LOL I do my best to avoid those. One of my main characters is a complete tramp, and I always just put in the part where the man of the night is walking out of the apartment. I think they're tacky, but that's just my opinion. I guess that's why people read romance novels.

STAR - I love romance novels - maybe you can get a ghost writer to write the dirty parts for you - LOL

I didn't think that a grocery store job would suit you. You need something fast paced and rewarding. Isn't fast paced and rewarding the opposite of a summer job? Just saying...

And yes Fly some are very tacky. I try and stay away from those ones these days.

I'm hitting campaign headquarters first-PG majors are always good for internships there. Then anything I can find that doesn't involve checking and bagging groceries. I hope you find something you like Fly. Thanks. I did the checking thing last summer, and quit after a month. I hate people.

I have it in me...Does that sound right?...LOL....I just need to be able to make it 'flow' on paper. I don't want to make it rushed or without substance. I have read many novels that the scene just seemed to be placed there....over and over....LOL...I just need to focus.
I never thought about a 'ghost writer'. I don't think it would feel right for me, to try to make someone else's words, my own. However, thank you for the idea.

Fly - I'm sure you must have met lots of difficult customers while checking and bagging groceries, which would not make the job to fun.

Fly - I'm sure you must have met lots of difficult customers while checking and bagging groceries, which would not make the job to fun. Lots and lots. There were a few very nice people, but some of the customers where just ungrateful and annoying. Hi Klees!

I agree...yet, a lot of writer's (depending on what publisher they are trying to attract) have decided to go more story...less 'lust'. I prefer story, vs. the other stuff. That just doesn't work for me.
I really only need to write one good scene. The character's are both strong. the bond that they have...well, it would have to be something really emotionally driven. A pointless "scene' that would not fit them.

Lots and lots. There were a few very nice people, but some of the customers where just ungrateful and annoying. Hi Klees! I just don't get people...how hard is it to be polite, smile, and say thank you? Impossible, apparently. One day, I was working the express lane, and let this old lady with more than the limit through because I was open, and then she ragged on my for bagging her bread wrong. I was like, "Lady! I do you a favor, and then you have the gall to rip me open?" Oh, and then she wrote a check for 18 cents over.
