Fly, that bushman sounds intriguing. He's super famous...they even did a documentary on him, according to Doc. Its pretty funny to watch tourists wander by, then jump about five feet when he comes at them. ;D ;D And people think southerners are amusing... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Fly, did you write any more of that story from last week? Have you posted it? I gotta catch up... I posted the prologue on my blog on myspace, but nothing else here.

Fly, that bushman sounds intriguing. In San Francisco, there's a guy who pretends to be a bush and jumps out at tourists. Doc(one of the former mods) and I spent at least a half an hour watching him the day we met.

This past week has been a blur for me. I've got WAY too much going on right now. Maybe someday I'll learn to say NOOOOO You and me both. I'm learning to sit on my hands when they ask for volunteers. Literally. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I'm just about meeting-ed out...yes, I'm inventing words now...Last week I had a ACSIP meeting after school, followed by a Relay Captains meeting that night, the next day I had a Relay team meeting after school, and then a SMARTBoard meeting on Thursday afternoon. This week was pretty much rinse and repeat to some degree...Relay team meeting on Tuesday...SMARTBoard this afternoon...and a faculty meeting at 7:30 A.M. today!!!!

That's not to mention the rally for the returning soldiers in the middle of this afternoon.

I don't have a page. Maybe one of these days... Make me work... Prologue-The Apartment For a moment, at least, the apartment is empty. The inhabitants are out somewhere-work, perhaps, or shopping. Its quiet for once, a strange sort of silence that, if you listen hard enough, you might be able to hear the last echoes of them. The living room is sparse, a rough concrete floor mostly covered by an area rug. The coffee table is battle scarred, a Goodwill save, cluttered almost to the point of being overflowing and spilling onto the rug. There are battered armchairs facing opposite one another on either side of the table, showing signs of being even more aged than the table. A long sofa lounges under the window, little more than a glass framed hole in the brick, sinking almost to the floor from the combined weights of all the people who have sat, dozed, or at times lived on it. If you think hard enough on it, the ghost of a platinum blonde, rings up her ears, chewing on a pen cap, sprawled across the couch, reading The Second Sex might come creeping out from the dark places. The kitchen is as light as the living room is dark, but has the same cramped feeling. A table set for three dominates most of the space, leaving a small strip in front of the stove and refrigerator to walk in. If you try hard enough, you can almost smell the last traces of green tea and chocolate, and if you really concentrate, you can almost see the shadow of a tall, skinny, boyish looking man hunched over the stove, frying potatoes in a tiny skillet. The first bedroom is just as cramped as the rest of the place, with what isn’t covered by a crookedly placed futon laying on the floor are discarded clothes and books. The bed is unmade, and two distinct imprints lay on the sheets, the piles of blankets thrown in the middle between them. There is a bathroom opposite this bedroom, with plastic fixtures and a stiff blue shower curtain hanging open. Just down the hall is the last room, another bedroom. Unlike the rest of the apartment, it is comparatively roomy, with a single narrow bed, neatly made, an easel, and a bookshelf crammed with more books and notebooks, almost overflowing. Canvases, finished and unfinished, even blank, lean up against any available space, in some places two or three deep. Unlike the other bedroom, this is a tidy place, with dirty clothes laying in a simple hamper instead of spilling all over the floor. Here the shadows conjure a small, slender woman with light brown hair and paint stained fingers, curled up in a corner of the bed, scribbling furiously at all hours of the day and night into a battered spiral notebook. Here is where the Damn Romantics live, a quiet, cramped little space somewhere in Seattle, where the clouds are endless, constantly drizzling like tears, but when the sun does peer out from behind those grey, drooping clouds, it is all that much more beautiful, more magic, more real.
