Hey All, Think about this....You have a local Chicago band with a healthy following. The singer goes on National Tv. 12 weeks later you have.....Mad publicity, tons of new fans, lawyers, agents, managers, booking agents, record company execs, band members, a billion new hits on your website, and potential hit songs you need to record.. Great things are well worth waiting for....it just takes time to sort through the inherited crap that automatically comes attached to being a ROCKSTAR!! I hope they venture to New England soon too. Marty Rocks.....

I'm going to jump on my soap box for a minute:
I think people are reading too much into the Chicago love, thing. The show ended less than a month ago & Marty had been sequestered for 3 months w/ no contact to the outside world. Heck he's only had a couple of days to even see his family since the show has been over.
Right now his focus is on taking care of business for Lovehammers (& himself). He's said it in interviews & you can't blame him. The industry is fickle and he needs make sure business is finalized before booking shows, etc. The interviews he & the band have done are local shows, & like I said in a different thread, with local audiences. There has been no slight to the rest of us.
The one thing I hear/read again & again from long time fans (& the band) is that the fans are so important to Lovehammers. I know we want info ASAP about when we can see Marty/Lovehammers, but contracts & planning does take some time.
Bigbrother mentioned that Marty was back in LA now to finalize some business. I'm sure the new management, etc. are going to let the plans for Lovehammers be known right away. Managers are in the business to make $$$ & won't want to miss out on the momentum/popularity that the boys have at the moment. It's business.
Now I'll get off my soap box & get back to being all fan girly.
I'm just as anxious to know what the future holds & want to make sure I have every opportunity to see Lovehammers play live. Are they recording a new cd? Will they tour w/ INXS? When will they be coming to Boston? Inquiring minds want to know!!!
Doesn't it feel like it's been months since the finale!!!!!!!!

For those asking why they haven't gotten e-mails from the LHs, check your "Junk Mailbox". I was feeling the same way until about five minutes ago, when I found a message from them sitting in there. I had to put their address into my "Safe Address" file. Try that.

I know that the delay is a result of crossing the t's and dotting the i's correctly, and am glad Marty is being careful to build a sound business base for he and the band before branching out. It speaks for his maturity and responsibility level. I have heard that INXS has just fired their manager, so it is obviously important to have the right people behind the scenes.

Thank You All for sharing this and posting your replies as I too, (in FLA) was starting to feel slightly left out, I was faithfully voting for hours on end every week (even w/the flu!) as well as purchasing everything that had to do with Marty or Lovehammers and bidding on everything on e-bay. I don't even see INXS as a tour date anywhere close to where I am. So I know if they tour with them I won't be seeing them for a long time. I realize that Marty is extremely busy and I feel bad for feeling this way. I am probably just starting phase ll of Marty withdrawal symptoms. I hope that I can be less selfish and give him time to work on his new CD and I probably shouldn't be so impatient and actually wait to see what is going on first. Sorry for the ramble, just wanted to say thanks to you guys for helping me put things in perspective!

Well, I have just bought airlines tickets from Texas to Chicago for the rumored Twisted concert on the 16th of Dec. I know, I know, I am a little on the crazy side. This is what Marty Mania has done to me! I would appreciate any updates you might be able to give on when the tickets go on sale or presale. My little heart will be broken no shattered into little teeny tiny little pieces if I cannot get 2 tickets to the show.

beantown,
Well said as usual, both on and off the soap box!
It takes time for a star to be born folks. Things are happening fast and furious right now for Marty and LH and they have to take advantage of these opportunities. It's only natural that he would start out with shows in his hometown. He'll get around to us evenually, I'm sure.
I just hope Boston's on top of his list! Heh.

I am from Dallas, but am thinking a GREAT place for the LH to come would be outside of Houston in the Woodlands! For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it is a small community of many, many tall TREES everywhere, with very strict building codes that protect the trees. Even the mall is tucked in and around trees, and there is a pavilion that hosts concerts like Coldplay, Blink 182, David Bowie, Aerosmith, Rush, and Dave Matthews. I would drive there and listen to Marty and the LH under the trees, singing Trees!

Hi Beantown and Mrbrightside... Have either of you tried to confirm if INXS is playing at the Wang or Mohegan Sun? I will be calling the box offices today....but as far as I can tell....no info on ticketmaster or the venue's own websites....as to INXS appearing at either one..... Seems odd INXS lists these venues on their site...but no confirmation yet at either venue??? I totally agree with you Beantown on your comments here...my preference is to see Marty & the Lovehammers perform without INXS....but if they are the openers I can deal with that too... My patience skills are really being tested....I know there is much to be worked out...and it has only been a short while since the show ended...and poor Marty could use a breather I am sure!!! We don't want him burnt out before he even starts touring!!! Rest up Marty...do what you gotta do and please know there are some devoted fans awaiting you in Boston!!!

I made my order on 28 Sept....so it does seem to take 2 weeks. Hopefully I will get mine at the end of the week. Just announced on INXS website......Marty/LoveHammers will be touring with them
