There is real scalping going on on eBay...$120 for a Metro ticket and so on...I know the show is sold out, but this is really not behaving differently from the Enron guys... ;D

I have my extra tickets on eBay. I set the start at $.99 and can't control what folks bid. I'm not intending to "scalp" them! They sell for what people want to pay in an auction.
Now, the REAL scalping is for the INXS tickets....sellers starting the bids at something ridiculous, like $300-$400.

Of course you can control the bid, simply by asking for a fair buy it now price.
I think scalping is wrong and the best thing to do with tickets for any concerts that the Lovehammer's are performing at (or any other artist for that matter) is to not buy tickets you don't intend to use personally. That way people are able to purchase them at the intended price and not an inflated price so as to allow an huge profit.

The 2 extra tickets were not purchased for the intention of making money. This was posted on a fan site for the reason that I would like the tickets to go to a fan.
As for making $$ on the Lovehammers, after purchasing tickets to the Metro, Aragon and the Chicago Theater, as well as buying CDs and DVDs, I'd say I've contributed to the cause!!

Uhhh.. Starting an auction on Ebay and then telling people on the fan site is no favor IMO. If I couldn't go to INXS or the LH show, I'd sell my tickets for what I paid for them on a fan site.
I'm lucky. I bought my two LH tickets to the Metro off of this site from a girl named Lisa. She asked for a few bucks more, but that easily covered TM charges and mailing them via Priority Mail. I'm so grateful to her for selling me the tickets at close to face value and not trying to scalp them on Ebay.

The money being gathered from the sale of those tickets will not go in my pocket - they weren't originally purchased for resale. The money is being used for an upcoming give-away for fans. Yes, a freebie for fans at the MartyCasey.org website.
eBay buyers name the ticket price by their bids....I don't name the price. The buyer decides how much they want to pay and whether or not they want to participate in the auction.
And yes, someone with Lh knows I'm selling my extra tickets on eBay. (I purchased them, they weren't given to me.)

It will be well worth it!
I'm going to the Metro and am planning on going to the Marty Party, if there is one. Hubby is willing to forgo Thanksgiving in Mpls. We just decided to make a trip out of it and stay until Sunday. I haven't made any hotel reservations yet, but I heard there's some suggestions on the LH site.

i know there are a bunch of us staying at the Days Inn Lincoln Park before the Metro concert. Also planning on staying in town for the Marty Party (which I'm starting to wonder if it's gonna happen...). Don't be nervous. Several people are talking about getting together to meet before the concert, and all are welcome! Debra

Is the Metro in the same area where the Marty Party might take place?

I'm going to the Metro, staying at Days Inn Lincoln Park 22 and 23. I would love to meet up with some people, don't know if I will be solo or not. I might have one extra ticket. If the party happens, I'm not sure if I can stay. It is not by the Metro. Party will be on the South side of Chicago, I heard it is not easy to get there.

The Metro is probably an hour and a half drive (during rush hour) from where the Party is to be held (if it is is a go). www.115bourbonstreet.com/Here's the web site. It has driving instructions.

I just booked a room at the Days Inn - Lincoln Park for Weds thru Sat (hoping for a Marty Party).
Anybody else bringing their hubby or SO? I think mine would feel a little strange if he was hanging around only a bunch of Marty lovin women. I would love to hook up with others. Real names are Marty (yes, I know, I got myself a Marty already) and Kathy (aka Jo).

Hi, Kathy. Hee hee--so if you say Marty at the wrong time, no one is the wiser, eh? LMAO!!! I will be bringing my hubby if he can get the day off. We'll be at the Days Inn, also. May not get there until Wed. though. That place is gonna be Party Central, I think!!! ;D I'm getting so excited about this!!! I look forward to meeting everyone!

Ya, I don't have to be careful in that department. However one time, he did ask if I was really with him or with my other Marty. I'll never admit anything!
I won't be arriving until Weds. I'll leave after work on Tues and maybe make it half way. I think it's about an 8 hour drive for me. I would love to meet up with others prior to the Metro and then head on over there.
I'm so excited too!!!!
I saw your post regarding name tags. I'm not sure I'm into that - good idea though. I wouldn't mind wearing somthing to identify myself as a die hard MC fan. I thought it was great that some of the fans from another site wore Koolaid pkgs to the Marty Parties. I don't have any great ideas though.

It's so weird that the White Sox won the World Series. What a year Marty and the band is having. The irony here is that Marty is a south sider and the Metro is within a stones throw of Wrigley Field where the Chicago Cubs (north siders) play.
