I don't think there will be a problem with the crowd not paying attention to the Lovehammers here in Chicago!
I think Marty has gotten enough exposure that there won't be a problem in any other cities either. Most INXS fans probably watched at least some of RS:INXS and will be looking forward to seeing Marty as well.
I recently went to the Gwen Stefani/Black Eyed Peas show and I am still not sure who put on the better show -- even if Gwen was a little longer. ;D

This is one of the reasons why I chose not to go to the concert. I dont want to drive an hour and a half each way for a set that is 45 minutes. I dont care to see INXS. I will wait to see if the Lovehammers headline in the future. Oh Sweetangel how can that be? I'd travel half way round the world for, yes, just a 45 minute set. Having said that I'm not able to at present, but for other commitments (unless I win the free tix, then I'm in trouble - have to wangle something somehow). Are you not quite close to Chicago in Missouri? (relatively speaking)

I really hope everyone from both sides is respectful of the people who like the other one. I'm from Toronto so that's J.D. town and there was a person in the lineup for tickets that was really negative about Marty. It made waiting in the line with a bunch of other fans much less fun for me.
I don't think there's any problem with quietly leaving (or coming in for those on the other side) after Marty's set but I hope people don't ruin it for fans of the 'other guy'. J.D. fans are just having fun like we are, even if their taste is suspect ;D .
Personally, I'm going to have fun for both ends of the concert. Judging from the audience reactions on the TV shows, both guys know how to get the joint rocking!
I did once see a concert with a similar matching - David Bowie and Duran Duran. There were a number of people who came late but for the most part the Bowie fans were pretty good about the Duran part of the concert and I didn't feel slighted by the mix of the two sections (except that the concert was sooo long that we couldn't get home by transit but who can complain about too long a concert.)
