hey everyone: i got seats for charlotte, nc -- woo hoo! i've been pondering some ways to show the love for our hammers during the tour. just a few suggestions: -stand up & ROCK real loud for the entire lovehammers set (natch!) -throw flowers, undies, love notes at the stage -don't stop screaming & applauding at the end of the last song(s) until the hammers are forced to play multiple encores -offer polite but measured applause for inxs -- nothing as raucus & insane as for marty & co. -break into repeated "marty" chants during inxs' set (maybe too snarky?) -scream for marty again at the end.
any other suggestions? like marty said, he wants to be a hard act to follow, & his fans should reinforce that message, don't ya think? mediawench

chanvre, polarfan and I are going to the LA show at the Gibson. chanvre and I both have seats in the pit. So, when polarfan pole vaults on stage, we're going to cause a distraction so she can make her getaway with Marty. Then we'll meet up with her to share in the fun. We'll miss the INXS set though (awwwww). I think we'll all get arrested, though. Since I'm going with my husband, he can bail us out. On second thought, I don't think he'll let me join in the fun. :-( Sorry girls, unless I can get my sister to go instead, you're on your own. But I'll still be there to bail you out!

I am going to be on my feet rocking out at the Charlotte concert the whole time the Lovehammers are on. I also am planning to just enjoy the INXS concert. Even though Marty was my fave (and I just lurve him), I wanted him to go back to the Lovehammers. It's not a contest anymore between Marty and JD. Just enjoy both, but especially squee and be loud for the Lovehammers. Rock on!

That's so sweet of you mrsbud willing to bail us out...haha but tell you what, I'll get my brother in law to distract your husband by drinking beer and talking about "manly" things then we can make our escape My only worry is I'm going to San Manuel the night before, I only pray they spring me from the pokey in time to get to Gibson...hehehehe... ahem... On a side note speaking of concert etiquette; I went to the Stones show the other night at Angel stadium and the fuddy duddy next to me kept telling the people in front to sit down?!! Hellooooo rock concert people... if the music is rocking why would you want to sit down?? I hope that doesn't happen during the Lovehammers set cuz I can barely sit still when I'm listening to the CD's!

We're going to see McCartney this month at Staples Center and we picked seats off the floor in row 4. That way we'll be above the people rockin' out on the floor. Anything near the stage is over $1000, even the ones off the floor. Never been lucky enough to see the Stones.

saw the Stones last year -- second row. Much TOO close for such, um, unattractive people. But no-one sat down! had front and center for Sting so didn't give a damn if anyone behind me wanted to see, 8th row for U2 -- didn't sit for hours before, during or after that one. Am working on 3rd row pit for Marty - so he can read the fine print on my "Sing Clouds" T shirt and see my martycasey.org wristband!

My favorite part about Marty, besides his amazing performance style and knock-your-socks-off charm, is his humiility and respect. Whenever the other rockers were on stage, Marty was always in the background rocking out and enjoying their performances. Marty's mentioned time and time again that he's buddies with JD and, as we know, the man has taste. So my shout-out to Marty and the LH at the concerts will be to rock out from start to finish. Marty's a class act--so are his fans!

He was always supportive and just rocked out. I'm sure 99% of his fans will follow his class act example when his bud JD is on. Ooh, maybe Marty and the LH will join us in the audience when their half of the concert is done, to rock out to to the second half with us!

I think one of the best things to do would be to know the lyrics to the songs.

radioclash, that's my thinking too-- am determined to sing and air guitar along with the boys! Awesome Just wish I had more lyrics to their songs. I must maintain a steady diet of their music and their DVD before the show and perhaps it will sink in! (Now that's a diet I can follow - ha ha)

I think I heard Marty mention in a recent interview that they will be releasing a new album in January. So there will a whole bunch of new songs to learn!

Ellebelle summed it up for me.
We can be fans of Marty and also enjoy other musicians as well. While I am not a die-hard INXS fan, I am looking forward to seeing what kind of show they put on. Marty said their new material made his jaw drop. In his Aug. 31st MSN blog, he said, "Wait till you hear the new INXS. It will blow away all your expectations - brilliant beyond anything else on the radio. Madly genius. " I respect Marty's opinions.

i def. plan to enjoy the whole show, though i'll probably be way more animated for marty, cuz the lovehammers music is more my style. like inxs, but LOVE the hammers! i do remember that post on marty's blog, so it'll be interesting to see. personally, i thought "us" was a little weak, but maybe there's more coming that's better. can't wait to hear the first reports once the tour opens!
