Honestly, I remain shocked that I maintained my composure while I was talking to Marty. It says so much more about him than it does me. He exudes an energy, a vibe that simply makes you feel very comfortable in his presence. The moment was very unexpected. I doubt he has any idea what an incredible gift those words were to me. I was more touched by the fact that he seemed genuinely affected by what I said and replied as he did than I was by the physical contact. Does that make me wierd? Of course, I'm not saying his hug was anything but warm and firm or his lips were anything but soft. I really didn't intend to make anyone cry with my story. I do appreciate the sentiment though. Three days later, I still feel this amazing energy moving through me. I honestly believe that while Marty asks for your energy while he performs, he gives back so much more. Don't miss your chance to see LH perform. There's simply nothing like it. Had i not met him, I still would have left the experience very happy. He gives so much while he is on stage. Poet, you could keep talking about for weeks and I would not get tired of reading about it. You are one lucky girl!!

Friends, I have only been able to read posts up to about page 7, but these are all AWESOME!! Anyone who thinks they are ranting, or posting too much about this show, NO PROBLEM for me! I want every scrap of detail. Thanking all y'all for feeding my LH addiction! ditto here. Soaking in every word.....ahhh. Denise I agree! You can not overstate the awesomeness (lol - is that a word) of the show, the niceness of the band, or the sweetness of having Marty gaze, touch or look at you. I love reading these posts and seeing such fantastic photos

I forgot to mention: Marty's eyes are amazing. And I'm not saying that in a "fangirly" way. When he speaks with you, you get his 100% undivided attention. He stares and concentrates and listens intently to every word said. His eyes were beautifully done with lots of guyliner and purple shadow. His hands are very soft. His lips are very soft! (yes, I got kissed but not in *that* kind of way.....it was a kiss like you'd kiss your parent, sibling, or friend). He's also what I call a "close talker." He gets in very close to your face while speaking. OMG Amy, you got my heart pumping and my stomach full of butterflies. I think Mr. Keysunset is going to benefit from all this concert talk/photos I've been reading/seeing ....

Thanks vulcanet for your kind words. Don't get me wrong I was glad to be at the concert and I know there were many fans who were not able to get tickets or go because they lived too far away. So I am counting my blessings for being able to go at all... but it was just disappointing to actually get asked to leave the balcony and not have the opportunity to meet them.
And from other posts I have read I know I am not the only one. So here is to hoping that some of us have better luck next time!

I wonder if Marty will come out and mingle before or after the shows w/Inxs? I am going to get there early and hang around after the shows. In fact lets go on a LH hunt during INXSs set. LOL lol, rockbeast, thats EXACTLY what I told my hubby I was going to do during the inxs show. I said, "when inxs comes on, I will go to the bathroom, no wait, I will go wander the halls looking for Marty." and he said, "he'll be backstage partying" so Isaid, "ok, then, I will be wandering around finding a way to get backstage!"

Poet – oh, I so get how you were feeling. I wasn’t there but just reading your story my heart was pounding. What a fantastic memory!! Don’t forget to post the pictures if you get the chance. Amy – that had to be amazing! I’m so glad that all happened just that way for you. You and Cindy deserve so much for all of this. And I so believe about his eyes. He can do that through a TV camera!! SHR – what amazing pictures! Heavy sigh over the gaze.

PS: I can't remember who exactly took the pic of Marty entangled in the light stand/rafters thing...but this was an awesome pic, so thanks!

I couldn't get past you being someone's mentor!!!!! That's like ME being someone's mentor!!! I hope you don't permanently warp the poor girl's mind. Okay. The tears have stopped streaming down my face so I was able to read the rest of your post. I don't think I would take my mum to a LH show because she's 62 and probably wouldn't enjoy the music. She would be totally cool about hanging around trying to get autographs, though. When I was 19 I had a HUGE crush on a folk singer named Garnet Rogers. (6'5", long blonde hair, blue eyes, deep voice...) Anyway, she had taken me and some of my friends to the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival for his show. Afterwards, I was standing in line to buy a baseball cap when my mother showed up arm in arm with him. She had been tracking him and found him in the parking lot in his car, getting ready to drive away. She made him pose for some photos in his Volvo and then dragged him across the field to meet me. I was kind of mortified, but forgave her very quickly because he was yummy and she got some amazing photos.

Just want to give a big thank you to everyone who has been posting about their experience. It says a lot about Marty and the LH that everyone's account is so similar. I will be doing my damnedest to get up close & personal with the boys at Aragon!

Dropping off my Pre-Show Metro experience:
After pounding down two Stella’s back to back at Uncommon Ground, it was time to go stand in line. It was getting dark outside and a cold wind had set in. So we put on our jackets and scarves to brave the elements.
Only a small line had formed outside the Metro when we arrived, where was everyone? While waiting in line I started looking at the front of the building and I remembered the footage that Stock Yard Films shot of the Lovehammers in the very same spot I was standing. Now I could see with my own eyes, the doorwell Bobby stood in as he was mobbed by half a dozen women and also the curbside that Marty was chauffeured up to in a petty cab.
Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw a familiar face and then another! Dino and Bobby where standing only a few feet away. At first I was a little surprised they were just hanging out there in the street, like all of us, and then I thought, “If I want them to sign my CD covers this is the ideal time.”
So, I approached Dino, who had started to walk away. He towered over my 5’ frame as I walked backwards next to him, and I quietly asked, “Dino? Could I have your autograph?” He looked directly at me, his wavy dark hair framed his face and his black eyes were friendly. He said “Sure, what’s your name?” I told him, and he repeated it back to me nice and slow “Bar-ba-ra”.
I handed him my L’Strange & MoMM CD covers and then two sharpies red and black. “What color do you want me to write in?” he asked. I realized I had given him too much stuff, so I said, “Black!” and took the red marker away. Then he said, “Can I use your back to write on?” So I turned around and tried to act like a desk. I was so happy to see him, and I wanted to look and talk to him while he was signing my CD’s for me but I couldn’t!
Some other people started asking for autographs and Dino borrowed my pen for a while. Then a woman said to him “I have two extra tickets tonight, because my husband doesn’t want them. He doesn’t want to come.” The way she said, what she said, kind of bummed me out, because I didn’t think he should hear something like that before the show. So, I heard myself saying out loud, in a laidback stoner tone “That’s too bad.” Dino locked eyes with me for quite a while, maybe 5 seconds, but I couldn’t tell what he was thinking because he never responded to her. He just looked at me and then went back to signing a few more autographs.
Then I started looking for Bobby and saw him standing down the block with a few hot looking women around him. I wasn’t sure if I should approach him, because I wasn’t planning to drool over him or dote on him, but instead just say “Hi.” The cool thing was, when I walked up to him, and called his name, he walked away from the gaggle of women and towards me – I thought, “How f**king cool is this!” Of course my mind went blank – I had planned to ask him all kinds of questions, but all I could force out was “I’m looking forward to the show tonight” and he said “ I appreciate your support.” He seemed pretty calm, although there was a lot of activity going on around him, roadies running up and down the block suggesting places for him to have dinner. Other people started showing up and wanting his attention. As soon as he signed my CD’s I ran back up to my spot in line at the Metro, running right past the Full Shilling.
At that time, I didn’t know who was inside the bar.

At that time, I didn’t know who was inside the bar. A-Ha - Very clever indeed - No need to spoil us all at once. I'm so thankful that there are so many concerts in the future, because after all these Metro reports and pics I couldn't stand going Cold Turkey!

I know what you mean! I think all my friends and co-workers were hoping that the concert would be the beginning of the end of my obsession. HA! THINK AGAIN my friends!!
God, I am so excited for the Aragon show now. And this time, I will think about what I want to say to Marty if I am lucky enough to get the chance to talk to him again. I mean, gibberish can be quite endearing, I know, but twice in a row might be a little ridiculous.

I want to take a minute to mention something very special at the end of the concert - the confetti cannons! Our very own Howard here at the board is responsible for those. It was a huge surprise when they went off and confetti went EVERYWHERE. It was awesome! GREAT JOB HOWARD!!!
