Dino did mention this in one of his posts at Lh.com.
Does anyone know if it will be just Chicago's ABC affiliate or will it be on nationally?

From what I understand, this is going to be during the satellite portion of Dick Clark's Rockin New Years. When they pan to other parts of the country they will show this concert. I don't know for sure if it will be aired locally, too. There is no guarantee which parts they will show on TV.

This would be really cool if they did air the concert, but I haven't heard anything about it.
I was a TV Dancer for the Dick Clark's New Years Rockin Eve Part 1 and 2 Los Angeles. It was just filmed over this last weekend. I know that Fergie never mentioned the concert during the promos being shot or the burps over to New York.
The taping for New York will be this next weekend on December 20 and Ryan Sea Crest is co-hosting there with Rhianna.
I guess we can all just hope and see.

What? Santa isn't real?  It can't be true!!!!  Yeah, I am sorry to say that the show is not "live". If it makes anyone feel better, it was live when we taped it Friday and Saturday. About 13 hours of taping (most of that time was standing around waiting for the production to set for the next take). The dancing was live and the musical performances from the talent were all live... Of course it was all taped out of order. So we celebrated New Year's on Friday (fake hugs and smiles) and Saturday we taped the middle, end, and then the start of the show. It was strange to tired and sweaty by the end of the day (the air conditioning in the studio was not working), but are being told loudly that you need to be "fresh" and have more energy because," this is the start of the show and if you smile the audience at home will smile with you".  ;D Anyway, it was live at one time. Just that now they are going to edit and paste everything into a neat little package for television. At least the Los Angeles and New York parts. I believe that the only part that is live is from Times Square with the countdown and ball drop. But then maybe it's green screened? I don't know........that's television. As for the other feeds "live" to the rest of the country? They might be really live. |

If you look at the Q101 website, one of the sponsors of the event is ABC7 Chicago. I did some research and it looks like in the past, they have featured live shots of the Rock 'n Roll Ball. So, I would imagine this year will be the same. When Dino first mentioned the show being televised, he only said "ABC." There was speculation in the thread as to whether it would be televised on the Dick Clark NYE show since that is also ABC. I think that is how the Dick Clark rumor got started. Either way, I am excited for LH to get that exposure! |

FYI - major NYE parties in Chicago are featured on TV every year. Last year I was with a group of people at Carnivale, which was a fairly new, very trendy restaurant. Our table was one of the tables chosen to be featured. Basically viewers got to see clips of us every now and then throughout the broadcast. I'm assuming it will be the same thing with the Sheraton. Even if it is a clip here and there, it will be great exposure if any of the clips feature the band performing. For months after last NYE my hubby and I would run into people who said they saw us on TV that night.  |
