Another snippet from an article jam.canoe.ca/Music/2006/01/19/1401696-sun.htmlMostly about jd...this most important part though... "Opening on Wednesday night was Fortune's fellow finalist in Rockstar: INXS, Marty Casey with his band the Lovehammers and the audience seemingly couldn't get enough of their hyper rock sound and his crazy stage moves. Most familiar of the tunes, of course, was the song Trees, which Casey wrote and performed on the summer reality series, although a rocked-up version of Johnny Cash's Ring Of Fire was another crowd favourite. I wonder if they will keep "Ring of Fire for" the whole tour, or change to something else later on.

I wonder if they will keep "Ring of Fire for" the whole tour, or change to something else later on. I believe Dino said something recently about different covers for different dates ... that LH plan to change things up a bit from show to show, especially since some hammerheads will be catching several shows on this tour. Knowing how Marty and the guys are full o' surprises, my nickel says there was already a new cover tonight in Seattle

They played Ring of Fire in Seattle too. Their whole set was awsome, too short, but amazing. Sang and danced my A** off.

I love Ring of Fire, would love to hear and see it in Chicago! I'm still looking around the message board, but is there a link to a review to any of the first shows after they happened?

Here is a review dated Jan 21/06......... From Seattle PI.com Not very flattering for Marty and the boys..I'd like to kick this guys ASS!! Here's his email.......I already sent him a 'nice' response to his article........hope he doesn't sue me...... Bwhi61@hotmail.com seattlepi.nwsource.com/pop/256464_inxs21q.htmlAnd I quote: "There also was plenty of audience support for opener Marty Casey, another competitor from "Rock Star: INXS." With his band the Lovehammers, Casey previewed his album that releases next Tuesday. Although he made a great first impression, he is unlikely to have much staying power."

I'd like to kick Bill White's ass too. But, he is entitled to his opinion. Though, it's the fan's opinion and support that counts the most. We are the ones who buy the CD's and go to the concerts.
White is bound to get some nasty emails from Hammerheads.
It's to be expected. The music industry is very cut-throat. That's why the boys need our support more than ever. It's us fans that will help make it happen for them. We all know Marty, Dino, Bobby, and Billy are talented musicians. We need to defend them!
I'm really freakin' pissed with this guy's review.

Stil, I also sent Mr White a comment or two, inviting him to do his homework re: the Lovehammers before throwing out comments about their staying power. I might have been a little more restrained than you, but then again maybe not. Ha.

Hey guys. I'm mostly over in hammerhead land, but thought I'd chime in about this too. I also e-mailed Bill White and tried to be restrained. There were a lot of things I wanted to say that weren't very nice, but I sent this instead:
[Bill,
I realize you've been getting some less than nice e-mails from Hammerheads in regards to your review of the INXS/Lovehammers show in Seattle the other night. I'm not going to be nasty or slam you for your opinions....you have a right to say whatever you want. In fact, the Lovehammers are known for their strong support of people's right to say whatever they want about the band, to the point of allowing any comments on their website, from positive to hateful. Its one of the things that makes us Hammerheads so loyal to this band. They make kick-ass music AND they are good guys.
I just wanted to say to you that you should actually listen to their album (and their previous albums and EPs if you can find them- they are very hard to find and expensive) and give them a chance before saying they have no staying power. The Lovehammers have been around for 15+ years, and have had a cult following of sorts for many years. That won't change. In fact, they've garnered tons of new fans as a result of Marty's appearance on Rockstar this summer. Their rare How We Live ep (which has 4 songs) went for $1000+ on ebay recently, and it wasn't even a signed copy. They have a huge future in front of them....trust me on this. Very few bands have fans so loyal that they have a name for their fans...and very few bands have the kind of following that inspires cross-country travel for shows on regular basis. Most people would just wait for a band to come near them. Perhaps you should check into the Hammerhead phenomenon. I think you will be surprised at how many fans they already have internationally, and their new album isn't even in stores yet and they have no video on the air yet. Lovehammers are going to explode very soon. Hopefully you'll keep an open mind about their music and their shows (you yourself said he made a great first impression), and perhaps you'll become a fan yourself.]

Stiletto, I actually heard back from the writer (Bill White). He says he got lots of e-mails but he only responded to mine. We wrote back & forth a few times, and he maintains that he sees nothing special in Marty or the LH. He said that Marty has the voice and the look, but basically said there are plenty of people like that that get signed and he doesn't really see big success for them. He also said he didn't hear a hit in any of the songs they sung at the concert. He was very cordial. I urged him to buy the CD and give them another listen, and told him about how much LH have affected so many people around the world.
Bottom line: we'll all know who is right (him or us) about their commercial success very soon. I'm keeping his e-mail addy and I will write him again when they hit big! LOL.

Looks like another reviewer needs educating!! Review of the Seattle INXS show: seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/musicnightlife/2002752028_inxs21.html:quote Marty Casey, a finalist on "Rockstar; INXS," opened the show with his band, Lovehammers. Casey, pencil-thin with shaggy blond hair for an eraser, also enjoyed playing rock star, although his original songs were undistinguished. The best-received song was a cover of Johnny Cash's classic "Ring of Fire." Patrick MacDonald: 206-464-2312, pmacdonald@seattletimes.com Were these guys even AT THE SAME shows we were??? I know in Lincoln City there was enthusiasm for all of the original Lovehammer songs, especially "Trees" !! CJ Depoe Bay Oregon
