We'll make sure your little arse gets photos with the band, RB. Actually, you can keep them distracted while we (the girls) plot a plan of attack. Keep who distracted the LH crew? LOL The Lovehammers, goof! You know, chat them up a bit, get photos..keep em busy while we plot to kidnap them and make them our own musical slaveboys.

Okay before the boys get taken away (by chanvre and co.) I want to make sure I get my picture with them! I'm also counting on all the martycasey.org folks to make sure I don't chicken out! I'm okay being goofy and stupid when I meet them--I just don't want to be a total jerk and not even try!

Hi,I'm new to the board. I decided to check out the Lovehammers site and Marty's site since they will be on tour with INXS. I watched RSINXS like many of you and liked several people on the show. I really liked Marty, Deanna, JD, and Suzi. They were probably my frontrunners for INXS. I have been a fan of INXS for many years and have met them a few times. I thought JD was a great choice for the band and that Marty was a great choice to tour with them, with a band that he had already carved his stone with and that fit his progressive, alternative style. I had never heard of the Lovehammers but thought since the tour was closing in and they were releasing an album I would see what the buzz was on the boards. I have to tell you, after reading some threads here and at Lovehammer site, I'm a bit dismayed. I belong to 3INXS sites and none of them show any negativity towards the Lovehammers. In fact, there is a MSN poll on one of them encouraging INXS fans to vote for Lovehammers. We thought it would be nice to support the Lovehammers like we did for INXS last month. I can tell you that the guys in INXS are very down to earth, good guys. They are fond of many of the contestants on the show. One of them being Marty. They wish nothing but success for the Lovehammers and Jordis, believe me. They don't feel jealous or competitive. These are guys that have had a successful band for decades. They have had rocky times, successful times, sadness and healing. They are very happy with JD. He is working very hard and they have bonded like family. I have also talked to him on 2 occasions since he has been in the band. I can tell you he has also had nice things to say about Marty and about Mig. I guess I read several disheartening comments like the one above and some things on the thread about the interview. Since it was closed, I wont comment on it. I did feel a need to defend them against the accusations of them being cokeheads. They haven't lived the life of choirboys but they have families now and they aren't sitting around strung out on Coke. Most of thier downtime is spent with thier wives and children. They are just happy to be a band again, to tour and play music. As far as commercial success they aren't expecting much. They are just kind of going with the flow. Bands making a comeback don't have a good success rate, they know this. It's an uphill battle and they are enjoying the ride while they can. Thier decision was a very stressful one. JD and Marty are both very talented but very different. Marty is very different from INXS style. Trees is a great song but would never have been on an INXS album. Marty already had/has his own style, his own songs and his own band. I suspect that he will sell more records with the Lovehammers than he would have with INXS. INXS choosing JD was never a slag to Marty, just an acknowledgment of very different styles. I know I wish success for both bands. I would never want any band to fail. It doesn't matter who has more or less, I just wish them both a level of success. I hope both fanbases can at least appreciate both bands for what they represent. Music. I miss Hutch with all my heart but I am so thrilled to have my band back, and seeing them with JD, I am feeling very hopeful. I know the Lovehammer fans are so very excited that your band is ready to unveil itself to the world. I think they will have very little problem with being successful. I know they have many fans that love and support them and they deserve this chance. They have worked very hard for it. Ihope I haven't ruffled any feathers(definately not my intention), just felt the need to speak. I hope this can be a peaceful and fulfilling tour for everyone. Peace out.

Hello Sunshine,
I certainly can not speak for everyone here, but I will tell you that I am confident that we all want very much for this tour to be successful. A successful tour means everybody wins.
I would say INXS is very lucky to count you among their fans. And thank you for wishing the Lovehammers well and rooting for their success.

Sunshine, I think you'll find that most posts on mc.org are fairly positive and that the mods try very hard to keep it that way. I don't think many of us believe that it's necessary to disparage one person in order to support another. That being said, forgive us if on the marty love gets pretty hot and heavy here -- and of course, one-sided. But we're are quite grateful to INXS for introducing marty/lh to the world -- and I know that mc/lh are grateful too. Best, C

Sunshine . . . that was a wonderful post and I really enjoyed your perspective of being pro INXS and JD. The best scenario all around would be to see the fans of both INXS and the Lovehammers supporting each other . . . the whole INXS Rockstar experience obviously touched every one of us no matter who we chose to follow. I'll admit to having been a bit disappointed with the INXS interview and saying as much, but that probably came from being human and feeling the need to defend something that means a lot to me. The fact of the matter is that, regardless of how they came across in the interview, INXS IS supporting Marty and the Lovehammers in the best way they can, and for the energy to be good for everyone we all need to respect both sides. I think it would put a dark shadow over the whole experience for both bands if fans showed negativity towards either one. If I manage to get tickets for the Toronto concert I will be delighted to experience both INXS and the Lovehammers . . . they are going out there together as a team and although I have my favourite . . . I have enough room in my heart for both. I loved Rockstar, I enjoyed finding out what INXS was all about, and although I was disappointed that my guy didn't win, I was truly happy for JD. I like Switch and even if the Lovehammers weren't touring with them, I would have tried to see INXS in concert. There is no reason why I can't like both of them, and as long as INXS is supporting the Lovehammers, and the Lovehammers are supporting INXS - why can't we? This is not a battle . . . this is about the future of two great bands who are both going to follow their own path. They'll just be travelling the first leg of it together, which should only make both of them stronger. It would be a shame if their fans were the weakest link . . .

In the Philippines, they always have "security guards" that scan bags in malls, theatres, etc, they usually don't bother scanning my bag that thoroughly--or at all. Ha! I'm sure I can get a camera in. If there's a will, there's a way. But first, LH better come to Manila!

Just read Franny2 and Sunshine's messages: I agree with what both are saying. I too have been a long time fan of INXS when M. Hutchence was the lead singer. My heart cried when he died. I thought INXS would never return. I'm glad they took the risk of finding a new lead singer. I'm glad Marty took the risk of joining the show. It worked out great for both bands. Now, as a "TEAM", they are touring together. Both fans should realize that we are all in this for the love of music and the purpose of music is bringing people together no matter what race we all may be and what language we speak.
Our world is already filled with negativity. We should leave that behind when we watch rock concerts or anything that's positive. Defeats the purpose.
True, I was miffed with how JD acted on the show but you know...that's his personality. We also didn't get to see everything. You know how tv shows will over dramatized things for effect. Besides, we all have our quirks. I do believe he is a good fit for INXS and is a talented musician in his own right.
Of course, my heart will always be with Marty...LOL
Actually, it will just take sometime to get use to JD as the lead singer of INXS because I loved Michael H. as their front man. He is a great loss to music and the world.
Finally, if it weren't for INXS, our Marty babe and his equally gorgeous bandmates wouldn't be as wildly popular today if it weren't for Rockstar. Mig wouldn't get his record deal with Universal. Jordis wouldn't get the limelight she deserves. Things happen for a reason. Marty may not have gotten the "Prize" he was after but he still got a great deal in the end, and that is to be back in a band he started with his soul brothers.
So let's all enjoy the INXS and Marty Casey & Lovehammers tour.
As our wise Marty said: "Our bond is so pure and its foundation is music." The way we care about Lovehammers and their music is EVIDENCE of what Marty is saying. Let's keep it that way. Faith. Hope. Love. Peace. Music.

Sunshine
What a wonderful , heartfelt message. I totally agree, we want both bands to be a big, huge success. I had a hard time trying to get over JD, I, so wanted Marty to win, but after awhile it dawned on me that JD is perfect for INXS and I certainly wish him all the luck in the world. And Marty and the Lovehammers have their own legacy to chisel out now and I know they will be successful. It is hard to replace JD for Michael as I, too, was very fond of him. Such a talent and such a waste when he died. It must have been such a blow to INXS. Maybe the world will embrace JD as they did Michael.
Anyway, I, too, do not want any negativity anymore. It has been played out and now let us rally behind both bands.

PS Since I will be coming to the INXS concert ALONE, I hope some kindhearted soul will take pity on me and take a picture at the Meet and Greet of Marty and Me or Dino. or any of the fantastic Lovehammer guys.

Sunshine, I totally agree with you about the negativity. It can be disheartening.
I had a bad experience when I was in line to buy tickets to the show. There was a Marty-hater talking about how much she hated his 'screaming' etc. and it made me really uncomfortable.
I hope that Marty fans realize that the people who would be hurt by the negativity is not really J.D. and INXS - they'll never notice - but fans just like us who happen to like someone different.

The best thing we, as Marty/LH fans can do, is show strong support for them AND be gracious towards the band that is giving them this incredible exposure.
Everlong- very well said...
