I guess the Guys are in Vancouver now. Arrival from Chicago came in at 7:21 PST that would be 10:21 EST

OMG their little feet are on Canadian soil.

Now the wait for information. OMG it is killing me for some news!!!!

OK here goes. I arrived at the airport about 5:00pm with my sign in tow. Checked the arrivals board and I had 20 minutes to kill so I went to the bar and had a Long Island Ice Tea (just to calm my nerves).

The International arrivals terminal was surprisingly empty. While sipping on my drink I people watched trying to find some Lovehammer fans. I saw a couple of possibilities and sure enough when I went over to the exit door a very nice lady saw my sign and then we started to talk. I was so excited about seeing Marty I still don't remember her name (sorry), but I think her message board name is Skye. Anyway her husband and two daughters drove all the way from Penticton today and are seeing Lovehammers in Seattle.

We chatted for probably 30 minutes waiting and then we saw Marty coming through customs. I held up my sign and at first I don't think he knew what it said, then he smiled in recognition and motioned to Bobby and Billy that some fans were there to meet them. There were 7 of us all together so we all got to talk to Marty, take pictures and get autographs. Dino was held up in customs being searched so that gave us some more time with them.

My camera batterys were almost expired and I took a couple of pictures but they didn't come out very good. Luckily I remembered my cell has a camera on it so I asked the dad of the family to take my picture with Marty and he took the one on my cell plus another one with his camera. They promised to email it to me.

I did ask Marty about the meet and greet for the Vancouver concert and he said he won't know until they meet with INXS tomorrow. It was all over before I knew it and etched in my memory forever.

Gail and her twin sister were there and took photos I hope come out better than mine. When I asked Marty for a hug he started to hug me and I don't know what happened I lost control for a moment and put both of my arms around him and squeezed (bear hug). Later Gail told me that Marty said they hadn't eaten since 10:00am that morning and he was feeling a bit sick. Poor baby I hope I didn't make him feel worse, I couldn't control myself. He's so beautiful in person.

Then I spoke with Bobby and Billy for a bit and Dino (what a sweetheart). They all signed my CD cover of MOMM. Whew I doubt I'll sleep much tonight.

PS I'll have to email my photos to Trees and maybe she can post them here for me because I forgot how to put them up here.

I can't believe I missed the airport!!!! I'm so jealous! I drove from vernon (approx 5 hours) and left with lots of time to get to the airport and the stupid highway was closed after Kamloops. So instead of meeting Marty and the gang I watched 3/4 of wedding crashers on my laptop on a snowy highway! Life sucks!!! Oh well, theres always tomorrow night. Enjoy!

Okay, girls. We need a FULL REPORT! Set list, stage antics (anything to climb there?), etc. This is the VIRGIN concert of the tour. We're all counting on you!!

Thanks for the story (and pictures) about seeing Marty at the airport. I guess we'll have to keep an eye on the Tour Towns section of the board now that they're on tour. Wow, this is going to be great. New descriptions of the shows and pictures all the time!

I am really excited, but I am also nervous. The long build up and not knowing if I could get a ticket, and now it's finally tonight. And I have never gone to anything like this alone before. It's sensory overload!

Well, this isn't a firsthand hammerhead report — it's a news story, dug up by someone on another board — but at least it's a start. Emphasis mine:

Doubtless, that would suit opening act Marty Casey & the Lovehammers. The runner-up for the INXS vacancy put out like the headliner he will shortly be, performing both the song "Trees" from the TV show, as well as new single "Casualty," and others from his to-be-released debut (out next Tuesday).

It was something to see. Pretty much the whole sell-out crowd showed up for the opening act. Such is the power of TV to change concertgoers' habits.

Typically, a new band is lucky to receive a smattering of applause. Casey and crew had a screaming, standing, singing-along-to-songs-not-released fan base ready-made.

Expect to see both acts back through town in June.
