Haven't talked since you were heading to the show in your hometown! You make me laugh, ya watching INXS one more time would just about do my head in. But I tell you what if LH is in Vancouver let's make sure we meet up !!

Too bad it's going to be in GM Place this time - I loved the small venue of the QE. But at least we should all be able to get tickets more easily. Figures that I try to wean myself off the boards for a week and I missed this really exciting news! Luckily, I never can last a whole week....  BTW, Stiletto, I really liked your maple leaf signature on page two of this thread. It was really cool. |

Well this is silly this wait. I dont want to pick up tickets to INXS in Vancouver and have some stupid band open up. It was bad enough sitting through 1/2 of INXS's set in January. LOL Don't forget RB you have a place to lay over in Victoria  Sure hope we here soon!!! |

I just went over to the official INXS site and added comments into the 'Openers for the Canadian Tour' thread saying I hope that Lovehammers are still opening. Perhaps if others who purchased INXS fanclub memberships to get good seats would do the same it could let them know that their fanclub members want them to open.
Probably it will make no difference as I expect the decision has been made but it can't hurt!
Side note: While over there I read a few of the Detroit reports and they had some really nice things to say about Marty. I'm happy to see that!

I telephoned McGhee Entertainment and spoke to a woman called Lynn (I think). Very nice long chat. She said that LH are not going to be on the May tour. I asked why and she said "BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T ASKED!!!". I was so shocked I nearly fell off the telephone. Lynn asked where I was from and I said Calgary and that there were a lot of us planning on seeing the LH in Calgary, Edmonton & Vancouver but would not be going to see INXS without LH. I asked if LH would be playing Canada in the future and she said absolutely and as soon as they have something confirmed it will be announced. I don't know if she meant Canada specifically or any USA dates. She said nothing has been set as of today. We talked for about 15 minutes, I told her how pissed off all the fans were going to be and hoped my friends wouldn't kill the messenger. She said she has had a lot of calls today from Canadian fans that are not pleased. If she was fed up with getting calls from us she certainly didn't act like it. Anyways, that's it. I am actually calming down now and have realised how nice it would be not to hear about INXS & especialy that f**ing JD every time we talk about Marty & LH!! Now I am excited to see what our guys do next!!

This could end up being a good thing for us. Maybe Lovehammers will come and play a smaller, more intimate venue like the Commodore Ballroom. That would be just their style and it would be oh so delicious to see them there. Plus we would get a whole set not just 40 minutes. Maybe you should share that phone number Gail and more of us could call and request???
I am disappointed that INXS has not asked them, Marty said that INXS has been so great to them and all. It will be interesting to see if INXS can sell tickets as well as on this tour without the LH. I doubt it! And they are in GM Place so they are making a HUGE mistake!!!

Did Lynne know if INXS has asked anyone else yet to open for the May tour? I am wondering if they are still maybe going to have the LH, but just haven't asked yet?

Thank you so much Gail. This waiting has been so hard. We needed to know before Tuesday - the presales go on sale. I only would have bought tickets to see The LH. I have a strong feeling that we are all going to end up better off - we'll see Marty and the LH and we'll see them on their own headlining - even if it's smaller venues - just maybe not quite as soon. I agree 100% with you -

It's interesting that they weren't asked. Big mistake on INXS' part - maybe better for us and The LH in the long run. We just have to be a little patient to see our boys again. Pam

I spoke with the missus about this today...if LH is going to be around we'll make an entire weekend of the Kitchener show if we can.......... But she did mention the fact that she would rather pay money to just see the Lovehammers and not waste it on INXS...lol She's neither an INXS fan or a JD fan.......loves Marty though.........and she's still lurking......... Mrs Stil.... Come out, come out where ever you are  We know you have good taste in men if your hanging around with Mr. Stil & you Love our MMMMarty Your our kinda woman  Marty's warming up for Kitchener already.. |

Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday. In answer to your earlier questions:
I asked the woman from McGhee when they would be announcing who was supporting INXS on the May tour. That was the 1st question I asked her. She said she did not know. Then I asked if it would be LH and she said "no they will not be opening for the May Canadian tour". I then asked, as I reported, Why is that and she responded "because they have not been asked". Now, could INXS ask them today and it's really just down to not co-ordinated on their part, I suppose it's possible. Time will tell....we'll know by Tuesday!!
I agree with you that it would be great to see LH at the Commodore Ballroom. Great room!!

Thanks for digging for more dirt Gail. Perhaps this will all work out better in the longrun like takemeout mentioned - smaller venue. It's so disappointing though! We were taking our kids to this concert since it was local and now no Lovehammers!

I don't really understand why they haven't been asked. The arrangement seemed to be mutually beneficial to both bands and both fanbases.
I'm wondering if INXS had to relinquish control over the choice of who the opening band would be in exchange for corporate sponsorship? Maybe Pepsi has someone else in mind for the opening act?
I'm just speculating, I have no idea. But I really think they should leave well enough alone.
I do think it is ultimately a positive thing for the Lovehammers. They can shift their focus to promoting their new CD, and planning a new tour where they are the headliners.
Maybe it will end up being a positive thing for both bands. They can put the 'reality tv show connection' a little bit further behind them.
I'm just thankful that I'm getting to see them together in Atlanta.

I don't understand why they weren't asked to open either. If you read Marty's diary entries, he has nothing but good things to say about INXS. It sounds like they have been incredibly supportive of the LH and trying to help them out with everything. It sounds like the two bands have a really good rapport. Maybe INXS doesn't have total control over it or maybe they think LH are ready to headline and not be an opening act anymore. It could be a friendly "parental" nudge to get Lovehammers going strong on their own. I like to give INXS the benefit of the doubt after all they've done to try to help out (according to Marty).
