What a sweetheart. I just hope someday we all get to meet him personally even if it is just for 15 seconds. He and the boys are worth the effort to promote them.

Yakkettyyak . . . I agree, it's absolutely about respect.
And nlt . . . nicely put. But I'd like to add that I don't think it's so much that the Sisterhood wants credit for the idea, they only want it to keep it's meaning and have it remain a symbol of the bond that ties them all together, in the same way the org bracelet represents the bond between it's members, and is a symbol of everything this place is, and has done, in support of something we all believe in.

I agree w/ everyone's comments. We're all in it for the same reason. Thanks franny for your last comment, I think you put it better than I did. Great writing, I've read your comments before on Sister and you put things so well.

franny2, thanks for your post and clarifying. I hope my post earlier didn't come across as negative. I was trying to inform the mc.org peeps inquisitive minds. I didn't think their laughing was meant to be mean or anything negative. I took it as all in good humor and they were laughing b/c .org was so curious about Ninja, the gnome and the baked goodies. It wasn't something expected in MC's letter. I've been lurking on the sisterhood site and know that there are tons that belong to both websites (as well as other sites), including me. I'm so glad to see all the love that is out there for our guys! I completely agree with them on wanting to keep the garter their thing, they created it, they should get the credit and be able to share in their garter moment with Marty. No matter what group you do or don't belong to, MC & LH appreciates all their fans. That's what is so great about them, they really show their appreciation for each of us! hmm. well you know we welcome lurkers at sisterhood. but would love if you would come out of lurk mode and join the conversation sometime! We would love to get to know more people. As for 'fan groups" I know Marty doesnt prefer any group over the other. he obviously is gracious to everyone. And I would wear a .org bracelet but I still havent gotten one.lol.. im a little behind on things.

Thanks for the invite ndluv, i'm just trying to catch up on all the different stuff you guys have on the site, i don't want to post on something that's already been discussed. I don't do a lot of posts here either, not in the hundreds or thousands yet... Unfortunately, I can only view the sites when I'm at work and people are constantly invading my area . I'll drop in sometime though and try to give a blurb or two. See ya here, there, wherever.....

How do you get to the diary? I signed up and then they said the diary isn't public - you have to ask to get access. Is that correct?
thanks,

Is that correct? everlong, the diary everyone is referencing is simply the band's tour diary on www.lovehammers.com. All the guys have been posting their comments and it's not private. Everyone has access.

Ah sweet Franny....thank you so much for your comments. My name is kool, and I posted over here as koolmaid awhile ago. I found the sisterhood awhile back but still maintain my .org status. And just like this site, the Sisterhood is very close knit, but certainly not closed. I had the honor to give Marty the first garder in Lincoln City, Oregon and begin the "ritual". The garder came into being because our board wanted something to distinguish us as your .org bracelets distinguish you. We knew how special Marty felt about the bracelets he received from .org. We knew anytime he saw one he knew exactly where you came from. We wanted him to recognize us the same way. It was never secret and the ritual was merely the fact that we each wore the garder on the same arm and gave him the garder the same way. We welcome new people, but invite you to post, get to know us and let us know you. Also that you are a .org'er, as I call you! We won't bite, really! Tell us if someone invited you over..It's all good and we can all get along because the truth is, one of the reasons we are all on these boards is because of Marty Casey. As many of you already know from meeting him, Marty is one of the sweetest, gentlest, genuinely down to earth people I have ever met. He loves all his fans and in no way feels one group is more important than another. When he signed autographs and took pictures with all of us in Lincoln City, he did not stop until every single person had something from him. As tired as he seemed, he was determined to give everything he had to us. I was so impressed and so touched that he would care that much. He stands as an example of true class and should be an example to all of us. Yes, one of our members did do something special for them and he did give her a shout out. But she was embarrassed, because it was not done for any praise. I am sure there are many on your board that have done wonderful things for Marty and the guys, just as over on the lh board. That is the beauty of this, we all have an opportunity to help and celebrate the journey of this band! Well thanks for letting me post my thoughts. Just wanted you to know that if we are laughing it is because we are just a bunch of Crazy Lunatic Woman Lusting After The Blond Adonis, Mr. Sexy Pants. And why not....he is, after all, Our Crazy Conductor! Peace Kool

ROFL who gave them a garden gnome, that is too funny, love those things. I'm behind on that one too Scott. Marty mentioned it to Franny and I in Toronto...told him I hadn't heard of that one.. I need to do my homework! He talked openly about his appreciation for all of the groups and all of the support that we give him and the guys. Franny and I had a nice loooong visit with him after the Toronto show on Tuesday. It was awesome to say the least! What a wonderful, sweet and sincere man!

I guess I am clueless, but can someone tell me about the garter exchange ritual?? All I got was autographs an hugs in Highland CA--still great though. And who knows who Laurie is and what she gave them? Curious to know what they needed real bad. Good job Laurie!! Kellee The garter exchange is a sisterhood ritual and I know Laurie but I don't know what the gift was. She prefers to keep it private and didn't expect a public thanks. So nice to know that the guys appreciate it though.

Wow - being a little bit older than the average LH fan, and having enjoyed many rock bands over the years, I have never sensed the total fan appreciation that this band seems to sincerely feel. The diary entries written during their tour wasn't something I was expecting. It is absolutely wonderful to be kept up to date on their stops and their feelings. And it is wonderful to know they appreciate us so much. I told him it is serious because I love what Sisterhood, Street teamers, fan clubbers, trouble makers have done for the Lovehammers and it is a moment that cannot be overlooked. What a nice nice guy. Marty we love you. Marty falling off a balcony - what an absolutely scary thought - I must admit I love his antics but have worried that one day he is going to be hurt. Thank goodness he was able to grab onto a fan. I have a question: I must have missed something on the Board - what is the "ceremonial garter" between the band and the fans. Dying to know. Pam Franny and I were there and in the front row of the balcony. We had to stand to let him through. Franny joked with me and asked if it was me who almost knocked him over the railing. NOPE! I actually held his arm and put my other hand on his back...of course, that wasn't for any reason other than to ensure that he got past me safely without falling over the rail...lol And the garter thing is a sisterhood ritual...

I promise this will be my last post of the night...I've obviously jumped in here late and have done a lot of catching up.
Okay, so here's the deal...Franny's right....the Sisterhood started on the RS boards and found a new home when those boards closed. I was one of the originals and remain an active member still. I am also a very proud member of the org and of the Lh boards. I only wish there were more hours in the day..so many boards...so little time.
I have found each board/site to be very welcoming and there are great Marty/Lovehammers fans all over. THAT is what unites us all. However, the different groups all have a little different bond. The ladies at the Sisterhood have developed close relationships and yes, are a very close group. BUT, as has already been stated, that does not mean exclusive.
Someone asked "Why can't we all get along?" That is an excellent question...I say "WE CAN" We are all fans of Marty and the band...we all have a common goal and that is to support the guys and help them to reach the goals that they've set for themselves...to reach the level that we know they can and that they deserve. THAT is what makes it possible for us to all get along.
Let's remember that this is not a kindergarten classroom where friends must be mutually exclusive. We can have "friends" from many places and we can all get along. What better reason, what better purpose for our collective support than the Lovehammers?

Rockbeast!!!! When did you pass me? I've gotta start paying more attention around here.
Don't fret, over at LH I'm not yet quite the Hammerhead you are (since I've had to start all over again).
I'm still completely Lovehammered though . . . no matter how many posts I don't have yet.

Kate.... where did the rest of the Sisterhood go after the Rockstar boards? Like yourself, Mona, Ohmiss, etc... are you at the LH boards - I seldom see any of you posting on this site... and until I saw your recent posts, was fearful you all had given up or lost interest in our dear Marty!! So glad to hear the Sistahood lives on! Rhonda

I don't remember specifically mentioning Seattle but I did bring up Vancouver. That was because that concert was on my daughter's birthday, in Canada AND he was wearing the necklace there. Marty seemed to remember my daughter and thought it was cute that she wanted to go to vancouver for her birthday. He told me that he loved the necklace.... here's a pic of mine.... (note, the only reason I am posting this is because Marty looks so darned adorable...I hate the way I look in pix but Marty tends to pretty it up a bit...lol)
