As for the music INXS themselves is into nowadays..
They have always loved (still do) progressive music..
Part of the whole New Wave/Alternative movement was the appeal of its newness and freshness. Thank god they dont like most of the horrible American typical mainstream rock/r@b crap out there...(oops, again no offense intended)
From all of the reading I have done ( I have been into INXS since 1983 btw) they currently love most progressive electronica ( which is by far the most advanced form of music around) ( albums such as Cafe Del Mar and the Ibiza series)..theyre highly danceable..
love the Arcade Fire ( brilliant Canadian band), Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, (similar to a lot of the stuff Marty is actually into), Faithless ( great techno-dance band)...
