Okay, so Zura and I got to the concert, found airjorg to get tickets. We ran into some nice ladies who told us LH was doing their soundcheck, so we all crowded around the door and listened.
We got into the venue, and then the show started. Ultrasound was amazing. Those guys really know how to work a crowd, and I have never seen a band so in tune with one another. Not everyone seemed into the music, but they were good. I love how Marty stressed the importance of the band to him, and introduced all the guys. We got everything-the snake arms, mad conductor, climbing on people's seats, pacing the stage. At the end of one of the songs he slammed the mike into his stomach.
The girls next to us during the INXS set told us Marty was in the foyer, so we left the INXS set. I had a hard time hearing what JD was singing half the time. We talked to Bobby and Dino for a while. They are so nice, and really funny. Marty had a huge crowd around him, so we talked to Billy, only to see Marty being rushed off by security. After the show, we went outside and waited outside the tour van. We talked to the guys again, met Marty, then we had to run. Loved every second of it.

Storm I have a boob story, too! Dino was the first to sign my shirt and he asked where to sign and I said on the shirt. He then responded by saying that he was claiming my right boob and that was where he would sign.
Fly gave a really good review as well as everyone else. Umm...anything to add?
It was just awesome. I was amazed with the coordination and the sounds they were producing. Oh man, I am so glaad went to see the show. If I had had no interest in the LH before, they would have become my favorite band pretty quick after that show. Can't wait until they're the main event! : )

My family was at the Seattle show too. The Lovehammers set kicked. I, for one was dancing. It sounds like the balcony might have been more lively than the floor. We had a blast. I was sitting next to a very nice girl in a Pretty Vegas shirt. I told her that I wished INXS the best, but was really there to see LH. I tried to watch INXS, but my husband and son gave up on JD's gyrating early on and made a beeline for the merchandise table. I stayed behind out of respect for the opportunity that INXS has given to the Lovehammers and even danced a bit. My husband was wearing a LH F...YOU shirt and a couple of women by the bar took offense. He turned around and saw Bobby standing there, so he told the girls it was all Bobby's fault. Bobby thought that was pretty funny. They chatted for a bit and my husband ran back into the auditorium to get me. So I think I was in the lobby by song 5 or 6. Dino was there and very friendly. My son and I hung out with him for a while...got some stuff signed...talked about the dvd and older cds...etc. He was in a great mood and really nice. We then talked to Marty and got some things signed. He talked to my son about music and was just really gracious and warm with everybody. He asked if we had found the easter egg on the dvd. We have. I told him I liked the pants. He was funny and charming. We chatted with Bobby a bit more. He joked around with my son a bit. Just when we were about to leave Billy emerged with a beer in one hand and a smile on his face. My son is a 15yo guitarist so he really wanted to meet Billy. So we successfully managed to get a t-shirts and a L'Strange cd cover signed by the whole band. What an awesome night. The whole band is so damn cool. I wish that every last person on this board could see them live. I can't wait until they come back to town as the headliner so we get a longer set. I'm sure it won't be a long wait. Cheers!  |
