I know this was already posted in another thread but I think it needs it's own thread to ensure that no one misses it and buys tickets to INXS expecting the Lovehammer to be there. I was making assumptions that weren't true and almost missed the real info.
From Lovehammers.com:
I telephoned McGee Entertainment and spoke to a woman called Lynn (I think). Very nice long chat. She said that LH are not going to be on the May tour. I asked why and she said "BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T ASKED". I was so shocked I nearly fell off the telephone. Lynn asked where I was from and I said Calgary and that there were a lot of us planning on seeing the LH in Calgary, Edmonton & Vancouver but would not be going to see INXS without LH. I asked if LH would be playing Canada in the future and she said absolutely and as soon as they have something confirmed it will be announced. I don't know if she meant Canada specifically or any USA dates. She said nothing has been set as of today. We talked for about 15 minutes, I told her how pissed off all the fans were going to be and hoped my friends wouldn't kill the messenger. She said she has had a lot of calls today from Canadian fans that are not pleased. If she was fed up with getting calls from us she certainly didn't act like it. Anyways, that's it. I am actually calming down now and have realised how nice it would be not to hear about INXS & especialy that f**ing JD every time we talk about Marty & LH!! Now I am excited to see what our guys do next!!

WOW.......that blows me away!!!!
Thanks so much for looking into this....I was all set to order through pre-sale tomorrow....would have had a job selling them after finding out Lovehammers weren't the opening act!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a dissapointment!

WOW.......that blows me away!!!! Thanks so much for looking into this....I was all set to order through pre-sale tomorrow....would have had a job selling them after finding out Lovehammers weren't the opening act!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a dissapointment! I'm glad I bumped this. I had a feeling there were others like me who missed the message hidden in another thread. I received a PM from another fan who wishes to remain anonymous who heard from a reliable source that: They are NOT BOOKED to play with INXS in May but do have two dates at the end of May for Ohio and North Carolina. Doesn't help us Canadians but hopefully they'll come back here on their own. |

I was wondering the same thing. Not that I want them (INXS) to do badly because I don't. But, that said, I do hope there is a significant impact of sales on shows w/o Lovehammers.

Since that was posted by Gail on Feb 9th...thought I'd try McGhee Entertainment (310-432-2250) again to see if there were any new developments. I was told that Lovehammers probably wouldn't be opening for INXS... so I asked..."probably won't be...or just haven't been asked yet"...and she said..."probably won't be". Damm!!  A much as I want to see these guys to headline....I think that this tour has been so great for them and has increased their fan base tremendously...however...they have only played in 2 Canadian cities....how are the rest of Canada supposed to get to know them?  I had to travel 4 hours to go see them! Judy  |

I just received a newsletter from INXS about the presale of the tickets for the shows on their Canadian Tour and there was no mention of anyone opening for them. Maybe they figure if they just don't mention an opening band...
well who knows what they think.

What does this mean? To me it doesn't sound like it's for sure that they won't be there...if Dino knew for sure they wouldn't be there wouldn't he say so? Unless INXS told them they couldn't I suppose. Now I'm afraid not to buy tickets just in case they do open for them. It would suck majorly if the LH opened here in my city and I wasn't there! What to do...what to do... I think it sucks majorly they we are put in a position of having to shell out for tickets BEFORE we get an official announcement one way or the other. sigh.  |

I did the whole "presale" thing this morning on inxs.com for Vancouver and only got really crap choices I'm not taking a 6 hour trip for bad seats and NO lovehammers. No way. I hope the boys do their own tour soon, cause I'm going through withdrawls and it's ain't pretty! |

My tickets aren't great even though I logged on at the exact minute that tickets went on sale. I put it down to the fact that ticketmaster sucks! I'm well aware that I probably wasted my money. |
