INXS Announced New Tour Dates- LHs??

just saw INXS announced new tour dates for May-June in Canada- anyone know if Lovehammers will open for them on this new leg of the tour?

"Pictou County singer-songwriter Dave Gunning grew up performing in variety shows with Fortune. He helped him record a demo for the show audition in Los Angeles.

Reached yesterday in Toronto, where he had been hanging out "up to no good" with Fortune, Gunning said their booking agents are trying to work out a deal for him to be a opening act on the INXS Canadian tour.

"It's possible that I might be playing there (in Halifax) that night, but it's not con1/2rmed," said Gunning. "He wants me to open a bunch of shows with him.

"I'm looking forward to seeing him perform live (tonight).I'm nervous right now, and have butter3/4ies. I sort of feel like it's my gig."

I went to his site and listened to a bit of his music- good but in a whole different genre- folksy stuff with lots of fiddle playing. Pretty wierd if they do choose him to open for INXS which calls themselves dance-rock music.

Yikes, dimitri, that would be such a blow to the Canadian LH fans. Surely, INXS would not have a folk sounding artist to open up. Not a good mix at all.

Anyone else think maybe he feels a little outshown by Marty's rising star...or not. I don't know...maybe I'll just shut up. You remember, 'if you don't have anything nice to say...'

I know maybe this means....the Lovehammers become, the headliners of their own tour...yeah I like the sound of that. ;D

I went to the Detroit show last night and it was awesome Marty was at his finest. When my daughter told me the Inxs tour was coming to Canada I was so exited and then when I saw the announcement regardng the sponser being Diet Pepsi I then wondered whether this was the start of a different tour which might not include Marty. The presale tickects go on sale on February 14th and I hope we will know by then. I am Canadian and London is 1 1/2 hours from here. So I am ready to go. Keep me posted.

Someone just posted this on the LH/Epic site. I can't believe Lovehammers weren't asked to open for INXS! Not that I can go to any of the shows in Canada but I know a lot of you were looking forward to it.

telephoned McGee Entertainment and spoke to a woman called Lynn (I think). Very nice long chat. She said that LH are not going to be on the May tour. I asked why and she said "BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T ASKED". I was so shocked I nearly fell off the telephone. Lynn asked where I was from and I said Calgary and that there were a lot of us planning on seeing the LH in Calgary, Edmonton & Vancouver but would not be going to see INXS without LH. I asked if LH would be playing Canada in the future and she said absolutely and as soon as they have something confirmed it will be announced. I don't know if she meant Canada specifically or any USA dates. She said nothing has been set as of today. We talked for about 15 minutes, I told her how pissed off all the fans were going to be and hoped my friends wouldn't kill the messenger. She said she has had a lot of calls today from Canadian fans that are not pleased. If she was fed up with getting calls from us she certainly didn't act like it. Anyways, that's it. I am actually calming down now and have realised how nice it would be not to hear about INXS & especialy that f**ing JD every time we talk about Marty & LH!! Now I am excited to see what our guys do next!!

I spoke to Bobby and Dino in Chicago and they said that LH are really trying to put something together for international tour (including Asia/Oz). Nothing has been finalised yet and they arein the dark with a lot of stuff . He said, "Yes we are really coming, but not with [INXS]." We need some SERIOUS street teaming to happen internationally so the boys can feel the love. I think we can all have Hammer slumber parties to help with costs!

Hi Marty fans! So glad there are a bunch of Hammerheads around to ask this question to - since I can't find A SINGLE THING to confirm this anywhere on the web or via TicketMaster. The INXS tour is fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally reaching Dallas, TX (my home town) and the concert date is June 29th. Fan club pre-sale starts on Wed.-4/19...

BUT the big question is: "Will Marty be on the bill opening for INXS at this show??" Lovehammers.com, INXS.com, nor Ticketmaster has the answer - does anyone here know? Obvioulsy, I wouldn't spend a dime to see J.D. - I'd only go to see Marty. But no one seems to want to let the public know WHO the opening band is for this concert!!!

I've been hearing that the Lovehammers are not going to be part of "Leg 2" of INXS's tour, but can anyone - with absolute certainty - tell me if Marty will or won't be continuing the INXS tour for dates in June? I'll die if I spend hundreds of dollars for premium seats to the Dallas concert and Marty ends up not being there.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just read this over at the LH board someone had posted. It is a band called Dirtie Blonde. I went to thier website www.dirtieblonde.com and clicked on "tour" and they are sceduled for those 2 weeks with INXS as "Supporting INXS". Also, LH will be in Memphis on May 4th and INXS is scheduled to play in CT on that same night. They can't be in 2 places at one time so I would say this is a definant answer that they WILL NOT be opening for INXS anymore.

INXS, the popular Australian rock group is expected to make a stop-over by for a concert in Mumbai on October 5. In what's been touted as the band's big-ticket comeback world-tour, INXS will be traveling with their new vocalist, J D Fortune, their find from the reality TV show Rock Star.

The group, at least in India, is best known for their love-sick ballad 'Beautiful Girl (Stay With Me)'.

V G Jayaram, partner, Orange Juice, the event management company that is to bring down INXS says, “It's still too early to talk about it.” Sources however confirm the group will be performing in Bangalore as well, as part of the India-leg of their tour.

INXS (pronounced 'In Excess'), whose music spans nearly 30 years, had maintained a steady run of commercial successes in the rock genre through the ‘80s and ‘90s.The stocks of the band went down drastically though, with the death of their flamboyant lead singer Michael Hutchence.

Hutchence was found dead in a Sydney hotel room in 1997, an apparent victim of suicide. The group finally released 'Switch', their first album in eight years, last November.

In September, 2005, Canadian singer Fortune became the band's new lead vocalist after a twelve-week televised talent-hunt Rock Star: INXS. The show, which played on Star World in India, also gave the group a fresh round of worldwide popularity. The contestants on the reality programme were challenged to write lyrics and melody to music written by Andrew Farriss, the INXS guitarist and keyboardist

Talented Marty Casey, who had become a favourite runner-up from the TV talent-hunt (quite like Amit Sana from the Indian Idol series), is also expected to join the INXS world tour as the opening act, along with his own group The Lovehammers.

Besides Farriss and Fortune, INXS presently comprises Kirk Pengilly on the saxophone and guitar, Tim Farriss (lead-guitar), Jon Farriss (drums) and Garry Beers (bass).

They could have written that from old info. It does say "is expected to join". I think it would be really smart for INXS to ask Lh back as their opening act for the Indian & Asian parts of the tour, but I don't know if that's going to happen.
