6/23, Chicago charity event

Okay, sorry for the delay. I was uploading and sending my digital pics to Cindy so you all could see them.

It was a really fun event! The Museum of Contemporary Art is a neat, ultra modern place. The event was part indoor, but mostly outdoor on this huge patio area with several levels. The stage was set up on the ground. Penny and I got there right as it started. Most of the people didn't filter in until about an hour later. There were no Marty sightings until he was introduced on stage with the rest of the singles.

Marty looked great! He wore black pants, a black button-down shirt with very tiny white polka dots. He also wore a purple tie with unfinished edges. Very cool! He also had on a cool belt and those infamous sunglasses. He looked like he was having a lot of fun mingling with the other singles behind the stage and on stage. I tried to take as many pics as I could, but we weren't able to get that close to the stage.

After the ceremony, we got drinks and mingled a bit. Then we decided we better find Mr. Marty. We saw him from a far on one of the lower level patios so Penny and I start making our way down there... By the time we got down there, he was gone. There was a while there where we thought he took off and we missed saying hello to him!

Anyway, in our search to find him, we ran directly into him. He had a big smile on his face when he saw the two of us. He said "I know you!" Of course, I quizzed him on where he knew me from. He got it right on the second try. I later felt bad for doing that, but he was a good sport. So we told him that we were MC.org members and that Cindy and Amy wanted us to say hello. He said - "I just talked to them this week!" ;D

Anyway, he was surrounded by people and we told him we didn't want to interrupt him, but would he take a picture with us later? He said - "NO WAY - you are not interrupting. Let's go!" So we took him to the photo booth! ;D You've already seen those! He was joking and goofing around with us! We had a blast!

After a few more minutes of chit chat and another pic, we let him go. He was ever so gracious, but it's so hard to take up his time when he's in Chicago. He knows so many people and there are always people trying to talk to him.

As part of the ticket to the event, we had VIP passes to one of the very chic clubs in the city. So, of course, we went. And yes, Marty was there too. We did chat with him a few times there. We danced a little. We saw him dance a little. We thought maybe we would try to get him to dance with us, but he was with a group of people and we certainly didn't want to be rude.

It was a wonderful night and I'm so glad we went!
