Penny! That new fan you "recruited" is my sister. May I have 1/2 the credit? After all, I've forced her to listen to them for YEARS!!! "Happy never"...

The show was awesome!!! 1 1/2 hours long! Unbelievable! The place was rocking! We had a blast. Just when we thought it was over out comes Dino and announces an encore! It was the best concert I've ever been at! The Meet and Greet was awesome also! All I can say is I will go see these boys play wherever and whenever possible!!! It was so cool meeting all the fangirls also!

The show was great. They played Hold On, Riddle, The Tunnel, and more that are escaping me right now. The funnest part was when Marty brought all kids 18 and under on stage to sing Trees w/the band. One of the kids was playing the bass. They all absolutely loved it!!!!!! It was a blast!! Marty came into the crowd and he came right near our group. It was so great until this totally wasted girl attacked him and spilt beer everywhere. We all felt so bad that she ruined it and he went right back on stage after that--Besides that it was great Encore was great--They played Ring of Fire!! He announced the new tour which I saw the dates posted here somewhere. He said they would be back in Chicago at the end of July, but I don't see it listed on the new dates. I hope it rings true!!

The concert was awesome, and the Lovehammers were classic with their magic and their original fantastic way of Rockin. Loved it when Ben came out to play a couple songs, really saw allot of smiles from all the bozy during those songs. Loved it when Dino grabbed that Bass that we won him back from Ebay, and played Clouds with it. Loved it when the kids, or all 18 and under, which included my daughter got up on stage and sang trees. Really felt like that was a memory for all of them, that they will treasure and talk about for years to come. Loved it when Marty just stood there and sang Sleeper, I actually watched him through a whole song, was like hell no, this is the best thing EVER. Oh, the voice on that man can send shivers through just about anyone listening. He controlled that audience and had every person there wrapped around his Marty finger. Ok, I was still staring at the Dino man, but geez, how could someone NOT notice the whole band. Best concert so far bar none, music wise, sound wise, energy wise. We all got allot of pictures, and I hope everyone enjoys them. Short review this time, but I think everyone summed it up nicely. Was a great concert.....Loved hearing Summertime in the City live, Loved Sleeper, Loved hearing Clouds live, Ring of Fire. wow...so many memories.... If I think of anything else, I'll let ya all know...Later all Nancy

I was one of the 18 and under kids.. i waved at marty and he came over to me w/ the mic.. not being the best singer i was like "It will be you and me up in the trees and the forest will give us the answers. it will be you and i up in the sky its a combonation for disaster." After i sang, marty came up to me and said "nice job thanks" and i wanted to give him a hug, but everyone else did so i just smiled and said thanks.. He stared at me and my friend a couple times and i got a picture of him looking at me.. will try to post soon!!! GREAT PERFORMANCE!! WooHoo - how thrilling that must have been for you lovingmxc. . Way to go .

Hey Everybody! I'm SO glad I went to this concert! It was the best I've seen (four so far) and I keep saying that, so I don't know how much better these concerts can keep getting!! I loved getting to meet some more Hammerheads and see some familiar faces as well. Thanks to Nancy and Tasha who transported my husband John to Chicago for me for our 27th anniversary--he enjoyed everything about the experience (except standing through the opening acts!) I didn't expect him to really like the LH, since he doesn't care for rock music, but oh how I underestimate the power and energy of our Lovehammers!! He loved it!! And said he would like to see another concert! He thought it was a great anniversary gift! On to the show! I can't even describe (although I'll try) the energy and just FUN the guys had on stage Friday night! Marty was positively manic!! He was all over the place! What's new, you say? I don't know, they all just seemed to have so much fun--there was so much interaction between them. There was the usual intensity, but also lots of playfulness and fun. Billy was adorable, talkative, engaging, smiling.........I don't even know what to say!! My friend and co-worker CJ, brought another co-worker, Mitzi--a previous LH virgin--and one of the things she specifically commented on was how damn cute Billy is and what an adorable smile he has!! I had a pretty good camera sight of Billy and tried to get some good shots of him, but once again, none of my pictures turned out good. CJ got some GREAT pictures with Mitzi's camera (most are of Marty) which are loaded onto my computer, and I'll post some at the bottom of this message, but hopefully both CJ and Mitzi will post their experiences, impressions and pictures! The interaction/playfulness only increased when Ben Kelly arrived and played with them. It was great. They all obviously love playing together--it showed, and they sounded fabulous. And what a handsome guy!! Also, after the show, I was sitting with some other people and he came over and started shaking hands and thanking people for coming out to the show, and talked to us for a while, took some pictures, etc. Just a truly nice man! The set list was awesome! Songs I've never heard live--Summertime in the City, Sleeper (!), Clouds--amazing!! Marty talked about the fact that they don't often have an "all-ages" audience, and that's when he called upon all the under-18's to come on-stage and help him with the next song, which turned out to be Trees. It was so great. Dino let a couple of kids play bass during the song--so sweet. At the end, Marty remarked that one of the little kids had told him he needed to pull his pants up! What I love is that these guys totally adjust their language, etc. to accomodate the all-ages audience. There was absolutely no swearing or vulgar language at all! And Marty remained fully clothed--even during the encore!! I took a video of Trees, which I sent to Cindy and Amy. I'm not sure they will be able to post it here since it does involve many other faces, however I think I can share it privately if you want PM me. Here is the picture of Ben, me and Mitzi (I'm the short one). We all look drunk--I don't know about Ben, but Mitzi and I hadn't had a drop!! Here are a couple of other teasers--taken by CJ, with Mitzi's awesome camera!

Well, I feel like I've been in a war, but it was worth it. That was the best Lovehammers concert I have ever seen. An hour and a half show!
We arrived at the show later than we wanted 7pm. Luckily, we got some great seats and were lucky enough to sit with Marty's family and friends for the show. What a beautiful family he has!
The show opened with Hold On. We were so close to Dino I could have reached out and touched him at times. We were off to the left of the stage right at the stage. It was the first time I ever had a really good view of Bobby and he was beating the hell out of those drums.
The crowd was electric. Marty was absolutely on fire. The highlights included Ben Kelly playing with the band. He looked so happy and the guys looked so happy to have him. He came on about 1/2 way through the show and played with the guys for Tunnel and the song after. They were all hugging and Marty was so excited.
I was also mesmerized when during Eyes Can't See ( I think ), Marty got down on the floor and started thumping his microphone on the floor almost like a pulse...he was in the zone...it was incredible. He was whispering part of the song and the entire crowd was mesmerized. He really does hypnotize people.
Sleeper was amazing. Marty just stood there and sang. It was so intense and heartfelt and there was not a set of eyes in the house that were not glued to him. I had never heard "Let's get Wasted" live either, and it was incredible. They just kept playing and playing every song I wanted to hear.
Marty, of course, started climbing into the balcony and made his way all the way around the venue to the other side and jumped down, taking the curtains with him. The crowd was going nuts! He was playing one side against the other trying to see who could yell the loudest. Of course, OUR SIDE won!
As already posted, Marty brought all the kids up for trees. It was just adorable. The guys love kids. Marty's neice told him to pull his pants up. Heeee. Dino let a little boy play his base. Marty had all the kids singing. It was really late at night, yet these kids were having the time of their lives. They ranged in age from 5 to 17.
Just when we thought it was over, Dino came out and said he had good news and bad news. The good news was they were coming back out, the bad news was it was just him coming. People were booing and he was laughing. Then the guys came out for a two song encore!
I believe they played 18 or 19 songs. The meet and greet was great. The guys accomidated at least 500 fans going through that line and gave each fan the same amount of attention.
Well, the rest I will save for the fangirl asylum because it involves A LOT of squee!
THE BEST TIME EVER. It was great meeting Diva and Nancy and Natasha and NLT and SIL and JSullivan and all the other fangirls. Also great hanging out with my girls. I cannot believe I have been lucky enough to meet such a wonderful group of friends from all over the country.
See you all at Hammerjam!

Well Put Kel, I couldn't have said it any better. The show itself was amazing and worth the long trip. I feel lucky to have seen Clouds, Sleeper and Summertime in the city live. What a treat and the hometown setting, crowd and having Marty's whole family there was awesome to see. I loved meeting all the fangirls: Penny and Kelley you rock! And my new girlfriends: Chitownchick and hubby Emil--so great!, Chitowngirl- a sweetheart, Lisafaith, Nancy, Tasha, JS, Nlt, Sil, Moonlight Melody, Uandme, Angie/Frank, Jodiesc31 (and Penny's friends Jamie and Jacky too) all are gems and seeing again my gal pal Jodie, Chifan, SHR, StephD, Treebee was the best part I think. The night before we had closed down Rockit--that Jodie can play pool--and win! Lots of drinks were bought for us because of Jodie's pool playing and then Friday night after the show --after hours in Mokena, lemon drop shots and laughter ensued with the girls--fun, fun, too many crack ups. Penny, thanks for driving us crazies around in Moooooooookeeeeena hee hee and showing us a great dinner Thur nt in the city. Summertime in the big city--Chicago is beautiful, loved it! Hammerjam will be a treat if you havent been! Ok I'll leave the squee for the asylum but let me just say that I have the last part of Summertime in the city on video and the whole version of Better off/Walk away--which was so awesome. You can hear Penny/Kelley and I singing all the way through it though! I think this was the set list: Hold On Throw my Head Call of Distress Summertime in the City Better Off/ Walk Away Eyes Can't See Clouds Clinic Yes it Do The Tunnel Straight as an Arrow Sleeper Ultrasound Intro Disconnected by face to face then it gest fuzzy but I know they did Ring of Fire and what else? For an encore? Jodie got a photo of the set list and can recap it later. I think she got the whole show on video pretty much so that I cant wait to see. This was my worst picture taking experience yet--mainly I wanted to try and remember this show so I got very few and they are mostly of Dino, and it was very dark because we were all behind the rope--stage right on his side. But I'll share what I got. Overall, a great, great time. Meet and greet was awesome, I am getting use to Marty hugs. Said hi to the rest of the guys--only photos with Marty though because he is use to it--expects it and is a ham and I feel like these guys have seen me too much lately! Anyhow, cant wait to do it all over again after some more sleep and more food I'll feel normal again I think! Here is Cindy, Mishelle, me, Jodie, Rachel:
