I'm coming from LA, keslie!
And actually, I just booked airfare AND a hotel. My husband is going to DIE when he finds out we're not just taking a "vacation." (he totally loves LH anyway, although he won't dare admit it to me)

keslielynn, you might want to book your hotel room now. You can always cancel the reservation for a very small fee. Rooms are going FAST, and you probably don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Keslielynn and any others
Don't worry about coming in alone. You'll find great people to hang out with. I bought tickets to Gibson and Viper Room solo and ended up meeting great people and had a blast. Hammerheads are the nicest people. Doc and her hubby even made sure I got back to my car okay. So have no fear. We Hammerheads look out for each other.
I'll probably be going solo too. I have family in northern Illinois but will stay in a hotel for Saturday night because I don't want to have to do the hour drive back there after partying. (Plus coming back to my sister's house after being out all night would make me feel like a teenager sneaking in--She's so very settled and goes to bed at 9pm)

Edited because I can't type!

Kelsielynn - I flew in alone for the last Metro show & I admit, I was a little freaked out. Luckily I made arrangements to meet up with another snarkgirl at the airport so we could take the train in together & meet up with everyone else. She used to live in Chicago so she knew what she was doing. I don't know how long it would have taken me to figure it out on my own.
So my advice is to either arrange to meet up with someone at the airport - there will be someone flying in around the same time - or find someone else in your area & fly in together. Or you could just study the CTA maps really well. ;D

train??? like the lightrail.. lol.. ohh boy!! Sac's lightrail is a JOKE!! But yeah, it's pretty much the same idea...it's like a cross between our light rail & the Subway in NYC. You can take it to get anywhere though. Unlike Sac where you are screwed without a car.

At LH board they are saying it has not been confirmed yet. Here is the link. So now I don't know what to think. They did post that after this one was started. Looks like people are making reservations already though even though it's not confirmed. I am waiting until it's confirmed. Me and my hubby have been to Chicago quite a few times and he's real good at knowing the way around on the subway so we don't have to get a hotel super close. Here is the link to the thread at LH.com www.lovehammersforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2476

I am coming alone and am hoping to meet up with some people as well. I have never gone to a thing like this alone. Where is a good place to stay?

Don't worry - it's a confirmed date. If I weren't 100% sure, I wouldn't be saying it and we wouldn't have it on the site already. The Lovehammers website just hasn't been updated. Tara will give you all the information.
