I know it's not official yet, but $100 seems pretty high. Does anyone know why so much?

All speculation on my part but here's some of the things that could go into it. When you book a private party you've got a different set of costs than when it is one concert that you have a promotion company doing. Besides the fee for the Metro, booking fee for the band. You have things like insurance etc. Also the cost Tara was talking about may encompass more than just the concert itself. Possibly food and drink tickets. And we don't know what the actual cost is.

Well, we'll just have to wait to see what the final cost will be. At least we have lots of notice so we can save up for the trip. Sounds like a blast. I don't like to fly much though ----- just goes to show you what getting Hammmered will do to ya. I've never been this nuts in my life. Just hope Dino is FULLY recovered by then. I feel for him everytime I think about him and his finger injury. Just hope all is going better these days for him and he's feeling better.

A bunch of us who went to the shows in NY aso have reservations at the HoJos on LaSalle. This is starting to seem like Hammer Central. I checked with the deskclerk there and it's about 4 miles from the Metro. Not really comfortable walking distance but apparently one of the El lines goes near both the hotel and the Metro. But I don't want to do to much more planning unless I get tickets! Don't want to jinx it.

Looks like Hojos will be full of Hammerheads. The el is close and at a distance of 4 miles it wouldn't be a bad cabfare. Can't wait to meet up with you all!

Yea, just talked hubby into going it was not too easy, so airfare is 99 each way right now, but they don't have Oct up yet, this is southwest going into midway. He thinks I am losing my mind, and I am but so are all of you, so I am not alone. but my hubby's sister lives in chicago so we can visit her also so that is how I convinced him. hope its all worth it. hope I see you there.

What has this band done to us?

We booked our hotel Saturday night. We will be staying at the Sheraton near O'Hare. I guess we will be getting a rental to get us around. Should be fun!

Does anyone know does the subway system go all the way to the Metro? Or does it run by the metro? It's an above ground subway and me and my husband have been on it quite a few times. He's real good at figuring out how to get around on it. I just wonder if we would be able to take it say from the Howard Johnson or Travelodge or holiday Inn. I haven't made reservations yet. I can't walk very far because of my back and I notice most of these hotels are at least 4 miles away. I'd have to use a stretcher if I walked that far...lol.

See y'all at the HoJo's! That's where my hammerpal and I will be staying too mchell, not sure about how close the station is to Metro, though I think I remember hearing that it's within a couple of blocks. But I'm sure someone familiar with the area will soon tell you for sure!

My understanding is that the Red Line goes right near the Metro. Since it's near Wrigley Field, I'd be really surprised if it isn't easy to get there by public transportation. I'm see if I can download a map of the El and let you know.

Okay, here are the details for the El. The HoJo is four blocks from the Chicago stop on the Red Line. The Metro is three blocks from the Addison stop on the Red Line. Including the Chicago stop, the entire trip is six stops on the train. So as far as I'm concerned, mass transit is the way to go, unless we find out that if we all pile into cabs, the per person cost is cheaper. Or maybe we can rent a Hammerbus! (Just kidding ...)
