It's 3:00 am and I'm beat, but the r/t drive from NYC was worth it! I have some pics from outside the Stone Pony, but once I got inside and the band came on stage (they started with Ultrasound, went right into SAAA, then a couple of other songs back to back, without a break) I got so totally swept up in the Marty Magic that I didn't even take my camera out. I couldn't take my eyes off him.
They came on at 10:45 and did all the songs you'd expect them to do based on reviews from the other shows ... Ring of Fire, Wish You Were Here, Paint it Black, Trees, Low-Life Insurance, This Town, The Tunnel, Throw My Head, Call of Distress, maybe Hold On ... who knows? It was one and a half hours of intense energy and frankly, I didn't care which songs they did. They're all great. It was absolutely cathartic. I'm completely drained.
I'll say the same thing I said six months ago after Mohegan Sun ... Marty is IT. I've been to a lot of concerts over the years, and I've never seen anyone take total command of the stage and the audience the way he does. I was at the show at CBGB's and he was very intense and focused for that show ... all business. He was much more playful tonight, and yet at the same time his ability to absolutely dominate the entire room and move it any way he wants is un-f***ing-believable.
There was no encore, and I couldn't stick around for the m & g, but I know that there will be reports coming in over the next day or so that will fill in those details and maybe have a couple of surprises in them, too.
I feel honored to have been there. I can't wait for Tuesday at the Canal Room. This band is like a drug ... the more you get, the more you want.

And one other thing ... I am also amazed at what great fans MCLH attract. I've made really good friends through this band, and I can't think of a better testimonial to the energy they put out into the world than that.

Thank you so much for getting your review up so fast Wendy. I know exactly what you are talking about 'getting totaly mezmorized by Marty' that you forget about cameras & phones and anything else outside of that zone. ;D I can't wait until Tuesday. I hope to get to meet you there I'm so sorry you can't make dinner. I agree the friends I have made are priceless. And he is unf***ing believable!!!! 2 days Sharon

Wendy~~~I agree totally w/you about Marty commanding the stage, he such a great performer, here is my review:
WOW another great show!!!!!!!!! Were do I begin~~~~i really don't remember the set list so maybe someone else can help me out. I think they played over 1hr 1/2. the venue was kinda cool, roomy w/outside area to sit w/bar. it seemed to be not as many people as friday night but it still Rocked!!!!!! Marty was more of a comedian during this show which was cool, he was so funny! They had off today and were excited about that so they wanted to really party and party they did. bobby was amazing on the drums as usual. dino was awesome, he was throwing his pics in the front row. marty was using every inch of the stage and was totally amazing, nowhere to climb here either but he did manage to find a pipe on the wall to lean as far as he could over the crowd! Billy kicked ass on gutiar!!! At one point in the show Marty made comment that he wanted more hands pumping in the air and less "" click, click"" and to put the cameras away LOL There was no meet and greet but they mingled around the bar and talked to the fans and take pics. That was frigging cool!!!!! well my memory is still a blur from the rush of this weekend so if i remember anything else i will post later........ROCK ON!!!! And I recommend anyone who has never seen them live, get off your ass and see them! You will not be disappointed!

This show was a last minute (decided at 3 pm ) road trip for us. Since it was an all ages show we decided to bring our son-10 and niece-11, and opted not to bring along 7 yr old daughter (good idea since it was an exhausting night) We arrived at the Stone Pony shortly after 7 and got in line. We met up with some friends from NYC and really enjoyed seeing them again(Wendy, Gineen, Ken,Ron). Fast forward through the 2 opening bands, they were good, but not entirely my taste in music. We were right up front on Dino's side of the stage. This show was of course amazing but also very playful too! Marty was in full conductor mode and very intense at the beginning, but became very playful and chatty. I think he forgot that it was an all ages show at the beginning but hey, I like it when he says f**k!! I always tell the kids not to repeat these words, I know they hear them when we walk throught the mall so I was not at all offended. Dino gave my son a pick after he finished using it and also ruffled his hair. Very cool! Marty also came over and grabbed his hand a couple of times as well as the other kids that were on the side of the stage and also my nieces. I love how they interact with the kids. Of course that meant no contact for me,but as a mom we must make sacrifices Set list said but I'm not sure they were all in this order: Ultrasound (intro) SAAA Riddle (do do do and yes it do..) Call of Distress Throw My Head Rain on the Brain Hold On Eyes Can't See Ring of Fire Clouds WYWH Tunnel Clinic Paint It Black Trees This Town Somewhere in there they threw in Face to Face No encore The venue was not packed, sadly since they put on such an incredible show. The m&g was very casual, no tables in between or lines to be rushed through. Bobby and Billy were the first out to the merch area and we were able to speak with them, introduce the kids to them and take pics too. I can't say enough about how pleasant they always are to speak with. Marty joined the area soon after and when I turned around my niece was already having her Marty moment. No shyness in that girl!!! He also met my son and after taking a group shot he said he wanted to picture with just him and my son. Very cool and he made some comment about him being a punk rocker or something (big blur there). We were needing to leave to hit the road for our 3+ hr drive home, it was already aroung 1am, but the kids did not want to leave without meeting Dino. We found him hanging out on the patio and spent a few minutes chatting with him, pictures etc. Finally got on the Garden State at 1:40 and rolled into the driveway at 5 am. I was glad to get a chance to meet some people from the boards. From LH board, (and here too I guess YNOTME, Tooks, Chayla, it was great to meet you finally Tooks was great, she gave my son a LH button but he had to sing the chorus of Trees for her. He seemed painfully shy at that moment but he was able to get some of the words out!!! Thanks for making him feel special Tooks! I also met Jodie who asked many to get their reviews posted (right after you do yours sweetie ;D) who was very nice and also gave the kids some mc.org wristbands. I had given them some LH bands but now they are representing both boards! Nice to meet Yak again too. I know I was introduced to a few other people, but it's a blur. Once again another great show. Counting down the hours till the Canal Room and meeting up with friends again.

I know we were forced to sit thru the most godawful back up band ever, but it sure was worth it.At least as good as CBGBs,and thats saying alot.Amazing energy! I brought my two boys, who loved every second of it. A nice lady who works at Pony gave them THE setlist. Ultrasound straight as an arrow riddle call of distress throw my head rain hold on eyes cant see ring of fire clouds wish you were here tunnel clinic paint it black trees this town(theyalso thru in a song from ultrasound?)I think Marty had a good point when he said fans should just put the cell phone cameras away and just rock out. I cant wait for Canal room.

SONG LIST FROM STONE PONY just got home from jersey(the best time of my life).........It could not have been any better it was all I hoped for and more!!!!!!! The band was absolutly in top form everything they sung blew me away to see it live and by the way I have a sore throat from singing every song, I don't know how Marty has any voice at all singing almost everynight. MY JERSEY ADVENTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My day started quit early and had a long drive to airport to pick lisafaith up, it was my first fangirl face to face meeting and I was thrilled to finally see her is so sweet to talk to on the boards and is more sweet in person. We had an iteresting ride to Jersey, blasting LH all the way!!!!! As soon as lisa got in the car we hugged and she told me about this interview at a radio station that is near the Hotel she said do ya wanna see if we could go there? I said yeah!! and i started getting butterflies so lisa decided to call the station and she asked if we would be allowed to go to it and the guy said who are you and she said lisa and my friend bernadette and he said ok if there is only the 2 of you yes!!!!! WOW!!!! so lisa suggested bringing them something like coffee and donuts we were stuck in traffic and was hoping to make it there it was suppose to be like 1:00 and it was like 12:40 when "js" called me....we were stuck in traffic and she said what the hell are you doing? ? "frantically" I said what do you mean what am I doing? I said I'm driving why? ? she said Marty just said your name on the radio.........( almost drove of the road) I was like WTF how could he we are on our way to the radio staion and we are almost there.........she said they just finished and he said were is Bernadette.........and she said that he was singing my name!!!!!!!!!!I was cracking up telling lisa what js said and we were in shock and mad that we missed the interview it would have been so awsome the next adventure will have to wait till I eat and drink something as I was up very early again today and need "REFRESH"!!!! TO BE CONTINUED next I almost ran over the LH (bad fangirl )

continued.......... MY JERSEY ADVENTURE.............. so we get to the radio station to find the boys were gone so we proceed to the Hotel...........and we get to the jersey shore where the beach is and pass the stone pony.......and just then lisa says thats Marty waking over there .........I'm like what and i look and see the four guys walking through a dirt field. I do a slam on breaks and do a U turn (on a one way street) so i pull up right next to them and they freak out for a second (like deer in the headlights) and they start to back away and then we start yelling out the window that we were sopposed to meet them at the radio station, and I said I'm Bernadette..........so Marty starts singing my name and says oh we were talking about you this after noon on the radio........ so then Billy was talking on the phone and said who"s Bernadette and I said me.......so he said Hi Bernadette, why didn't you show up? so we said we were stuck in traffic........and then they seemed to realize i wasn't going to mow them down . and then they said they had to go unpack the truck.......and we said see ya later..........I was in disbelief that I had just actually seen the LH and spoke to them I proceed to drive and I just came to a stop........and could not drive I was like all LH flustered so finally I pulled myself together and drove to the hotel.......... later to come................ the show!!!!!
