eyeswideshut - you'd need to ask the band questions about their promotion and gigs. We don't have answers to those type questions.

I did go to this show and it was great!! We almost did not make it between the bad storm and the car trouble!! Even being really late we were still only four people from the stage. Marty ran out into the crowd and when he ran back he pushed the girl next to me so hard that she almost fell on the floor--in Marty's defense it did look like she grabbed him and it seemed that she was very drunk!! I can not remember the set list but they rocked for well over an hour and 1/2. They did more interaction with the crowd then they normally do!! The best part of the show had to be when the guys can out about 30 mins after the show and just hung out in the club. We were able to talk with then and did not have to feel rush because it was so informal and most people had already left the club!! Overall the show was really GREAT!! Sorry I am not good at the big long reviews!

Amy - I don't know why you replyed to a post intended for Ceeje. I thought street teaming was all about promoting the band. That's what I meant when I asked why no promo for the show. Something on this board doesn't smell very good. Ceeje locked my first post and now I see it's been removed, hmmm. I have to say that your response to me Amy, as well as Ceeje's(but you can't see it because it's gone) feels very cool as in cold. When I first posted here about the show there was nothing else on here. I posted either the night of (8/24) or next day and There were no other posts. The second time I visited here, same thing - nothing. I noticed tonite that Nicole26 posted regarding the show. The date of her post 7/30, two weeks before the concert. Also her post is #3 and mine #1 and she posted two weeks b/4 the show. I hung around for more than a half hour that night I never saw any of the guys. todays date: 9/20/06 1325

eyes, now you can get upset with me for replying. All of us Mods do what we can to keep an eye on things and to reply to posts. If you have a specific concern for a specific person, you should put in a personal message, which you can do by clicking the user's name i.e. chk, ceeje or Amy.
I am sorry you are feeling that the board is cold, I think if you read posts in other threads, you'll see that that is pretty much the opposite of how most members feel. I am not exactly sure what your concern is about the show in question -- all fans of the band know that they have struggled with lack of publicity for all of their shows and we work hard as street team members and as a fan site to help the band out. That doesn't mean that it always works perfectly. But we have fun trying and all of us have made new friends because of our common interest in the Hammers.
Certainly, we at mc.org do NOT have access to every decision the band is making nor can we tell you why you didn't meet the band at the concert. I'll tell you, I have been to 5 Hammer shows and still haven't met Marty! I've learned to manage my expectations and still have fun.
Lastly, we also have no control over who posts reviews of the shows or when. We are really happy to get all of them, whenever they come in -- so happy that we even created an archive of fans' reports. I hope you'll read them and decide to come along to another show.
Best, ~chk

I've decided to copy my review from another board about the Mpls show. I was there with my sister.
Lovehammers took the stage around 10 and played til about 12:15. They got a rousing welcome from the 200 or so people that were there. It looked as if there were as many guys there as girls. And most of the guys were singing along and cheering, too. Lovehmmers appeal to everyone who hears them. They need more/some press.
Set List
This Town-Marty asked how many people had the cd. Big show of hands. Marty was impressed. Then asked how many people were from out of town. Commented on how much energy he was getting from the fans and thanked everyone for coming out on a Thursday night and braving the rain. It downpoured in the afternoon.
Hold On
Call of Distress
Ultrasound (mini version)
The Tunnel-Marty went out into the crowd during this song.
The Riddle-Marty said to the audience - now you know I'm not afraid to come out there and grab you by the face and get you to your feet. This is a rock show.
Clouds-my favorite song Woo Hoo!!!! Marty played the guitar on this one and WYWH. It was the only time he slowed down all night. What energy he has.
Wish You Were Here -he said the band chose this song from his Rockstar experience but he's not sure why.
Sky Is Falling-wish you could feel like I feel standing here in front of you while pointing at people in the crowd.
Eyes Can't See-my eyes, my eyes, my eyes, etc. Lots of eye contact with the people up front.
Morphine-Should have been there NDLuv! He said everyone always asks him about this song. He said he doesn't do a lot of drugs(must mean medication for colds or something). But then went on to say about how love is kind of like a drug. You get addicted and it can ruin your life. "Screwed mine up for about 4 years." Ouch, must have been a bad break up.
Clinic-Said he didn't really understand it completely until after his Rockstar experience.
Real Man-my second favorite song. Bonus, think I died and went to LH heaven!!
Paint It Black-I think this is how the song should be sung. Mick who?
Trees-A sing along. We knew all the lyrics and sang them loudly. Crowd sang most of the song for him.
At this time Marty said that most bands go off stage and sit on the side with their feet dangling until the crowd makes enough noise. They are of course going to do an encore so we should all pretend they left the stage.
Straight As An Arrow
We made a lot of noise but the venue brought up the lights and it was over. I mean really over, there was no meet and greet so I didn't get any face time with Marty. Boo whoo. We had to leave right after the show cuz we had a five hour drive ahead of us. Maybe the band came out later. Jomarty said they did come out later and mingled with the crowd.
At some point Marty mentioned that the venue had a great ambience and he took some pics to show his folks. So he could show them where they had played. Awwww, isn't that sweet.
Also, a woman jumped up on stage and humped Marty in the back (Marty said she had good aim cuz she got him right on the ass and it's really small) and then told everyone she was a concert violinist and Marty was awesome. I didn't catch everyting she said. Marty was touched and said he'd been humped by an angel. I wouldn't have called her that...annoying to me.
Oh yeah, he said he's just recently figured out how to keep his pants up and he gave a shout out to Bob for having to look at his ass crack all the time. I volunteer for that job. Note to self, learn to play the drums. LOL
As a former LH virgin I can agree with everyone else when they say he owns the stage and the audience. He was in form-prowling from side to side, jumping. spinning, and conducting. He is riveting. I couldn't look away. Not that I wanted to. Unfortunately, my pics didn't turn out. Old camera and too dark. Sorry.
I did get a chance to chat with Dan for a few minutes. Poor guy looked and said he was exhausted.
I'm sure the guys will enjoy their time off. They did a lot of traveling on this leg of their first headling tour but from what I've read never short-changed any audiences.
Forgot to mention Marty was wearing his zipper pants and red tee. Wonder if those zippers lead anywhere.
I posted this on the other board on 8/27. I knew there were other .org'ers there cuz I saw some wristbands. I was surprised no one else had posted and then it seemed kind of late to post here. But since there seems to be some controversy I thought I would post this.
This is something I will never forget. Hope I get the chance to add more memories in time.

Eyes,
We LH fans and members of MartyCasey.org are really open, rocking, and fun! If I have learned one thing, it's that when you are a Lovehammer fan you are never alone at a show! Between this site and my concert travel (seen them 12 times) I have made so many friends around the world! Give us a chance!

Amy - I don't know why you replyed to a post intended for Ceeje. Amy is an admin here. She can reply to any post she wants. We mods, admins, and Street Teamers are volunteers. No one pays us to spend *hours* each day on this board, helping fans and doing what we can to promote the band. No one pays us to put up flyers, design flyers and graphics, or do any of the other stuff we do for Street Teaming. In fact, we buy ST stuff ourselves, out of our own money. No one pays us to do any of the stuff we do. We do it because we love Lh and we believe in their music. That said, we can't control what promotion the band and their album get from the record company. We can only do what we can do. And, the board smells just fine to me. I locked your thread, because this one was already created. It is a rule that we have one thread per show. Everyone else who has ever created a thread when one already exists has had their thread locked to. Oh, and the thread you started (under another name apparently) is here: martycasey.proboards62.com/index.cgi?board=tour&action=display&thread=1158102333See, it didn't disappear. You just had to look for it. If you think our responses are cool as in cold, look at your own. You attacked Hammerheads for not being at this show. Yes, I'm going to jump to the defence of my Hammerhead friends. Go look at your thread (link above). « Thread Started on Sept 12, 2006, 7:05pm » Now, look at the top of this thread. « Thread Started on Aug 25, 2006, 9:21am » Which one was started first? If you're really interested in Street Teaming, try looking at the ST board or by answering Street Team roll call for the next show in your area.

"wish you could feel like I feel standing here in front of you" while pointing at people in the crowd.I love when Marty does this, especially because he means it. I have NEVER been to a show (other than LH, of course) where the lead singer seems hellbent on making eye contact with as many people as he possibly can and getting them into the show the way Marty does. That's one of the main things that distinguishes him from everyone else, including Bono and Bruce. He breaks down the barrier between performer and audience. We all become one giant organism, with him as the head. And yes, he is absolutely riveting, with his shockingly beautiful looks, physical grace, intense energy, and willingness to take risks. He's like a drug ... the more you get, the more you want.

Thank you, Nicole. I had fun typing it and re-reading it. Almost like being there again. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I know we did. It was worth the 5 hour drive. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
