I'm thinking about bringing my 11 year old daughter to the Oakland show, but after seeing the RAW DVD I'm not sure if it will be OK for her to see it. There was porno and F words all over the place on the DVD.
How were the recent shows in Chicago? Were they OK for an 11 year old? She's mature but I don't like to subject her to porno and F words, only great music.

I think there was a little swearing ("hell" maybe). But nothing too bad. The shows were nothing like the DVD!
The only nekkidness I saw was Marty's chest when he took his shirt off........
.....what was I saying? Oh yeah, and the infamous buttcrack incident. Overall, I think they were relatively clean.

Very, very clean for a rock concert. Almost like going to church.

The F word was said in the last song which was This Town and in Throw my Head Around.

Lovehammers have been very good in the past about telling people if their shows are "all ages" shows (i.e., clean) or "21 & over" shows (i.e., not clean).
But I don't know if the INXS shows are designated one way or the other. If you want to bring your daughter, maybe it's best to prepare her for some language just in case. If you're really worried, maybe it's best to go without her.

I was at the Aragon, and I thought the show was clean. A few "f words", but that is about all. I think I heard more profanity while waiting outside in line!

I'd guess that, since they are touring with INXS and not on their own, the show will be clean. They have to play to both bands' audiences.

I have 3 boys that have seen the Lovehammers many times, starting even younger than 11. By all means, bring her to the show. She will have a great time.

It really just depends on what you consider "clean". Marty was extremely sexy and working it...when he took his shirt off, he was showing a lot of skin (very, very low pants). A little bit of the F-word, but I'm sure your kid has heard it before. Personally, my 11-year old self would have loved the show. It was fun, energetic and sexy. I imagine the INXS shows will probably be a even "cleaner" but then again who knows?!

Thanks to everyone who responded to my thread about the Chicago shows. I'm no prude, I just wasn't raised to appreciate the "F" word and I'm not raising my two girls to either. I was surprised when I saw the RAW DVD with Marty saying the "F" word A LOT! I don't mind my daughter seeing the guys shirtless or rowdy in concert, just not images of girls making out on a table (that's on the DVD) and tons of "F" words. Marty Casey is incredible and I want to see the LoveHammers soar to the heights of success.
New Question - How were the shows on a performance level? Marty's voice, band sound, energy? Can't wait to see them in Oakland on the 23rd. Let me know what to expect. Did it blow your mind?

Performance level was a 10 at Aragon. Marty's voice is very strong and clear and he sounds just like he does on the CDs (as opposed to most singers who are much weaker live). Incredible energy....Marty is all over the stage and just so in the moment. He made the psycho faces and everything...he just completely gives himself to the music and the audience. Dino is very sexy onstage and gives such a cool vibe...he totally connects with the audience. He made a lot of eye contact. Billy was on fire...he totally ripped it up. You can't see Bobby at all (boo) but he sounded amazing. They are all very in synch with each other and seem so together...once you see them live there is no doubt that Marty is meant to be with them and vice versa.

I, for one hope that Marty and the Lovehammers keep a clean show. The really great bands seem to have a clear picture of the fans and what they are about. Every day language always includes a few swear words, but the bands , and I am thinking about one in particular , are sometimes too much in the gutter. Who wants to hear a Howard Stern band? ? UGH I would feel perfectly ok to take a youngster to their show. Jean

Absolutely awesome!!! They blew the roof off the Metro, for sure! Aragon would have been even better without the stoned and stupid OAR fans getting in the way, but the band could not have been better that night, either. The only other band I can compare their live show to is The Who, and that's saying a lot! They are all superb musicians, and Marty's voice is a true powerhouse! I had gone to a taping of RS:INXS, and discovered when I watched the broadcast later, that they were turning Marty DOWN, and the others UP, for the broadcast. His voice is so clear and powerful, it's like a laser cutting through everything else. You will love their shows!!!!!!

BBE -
I loved your description of Marty's voice. I don't think I can wait until Feb. 21 or I might explode. ;D

I didn't realize that Lovehammers was hard core rock 'n roll. It's gonna take some getting used to.

Clean? Cant remember any rock concerts that I've been to that were clean. Hmmm. I went to both the Metro and Aragon shows and loved it! The F word a few times, very sexy energy, guess it was clean enough. Par for the course but family friendly G rated fun? Doubt this is what you're looking for but hey~its your call.
