and then next thing you know i'm 100 miles from work...talking to rockfan & penny & mishelle from toronto at various stages of my sanity. WHAT in the world was i going to say to them IF they stopped?? Lordie.
fast forward to OH MY GOD THEY ARE GETTing OFF THE FREEWAY! (at milliken off the 10, for those of you in ontario area!! sorry!) & had no idea what i was going to do. were they going to get taco bell? subway? sodas? LOL so i confidently went to the OTHER side of the truck stop as i figured out what i was going to do with penny's help. my delusions of "they are watching me through the windows" was out of control. finally, they started inching forward, for what i thought was to make a break for it! when i finally realized that the other side was the bus/big truck gas area. so penny talked me in to walking over there...& i proceeded to chicken out! i mean i was pretty confident the other times i met them but this was ridiculous! i FOLLOWED them for 100 miles! for crying out loud. so i went back to my car, went back over to the store & just watched the bus. when i finally decided, ok i'm going for it, i saw billy walk around the corner of the store to the other entrance! i said to penny "i can do this! i can TALK to billy!" so i went in, told him my story, they are great, ISHDFHEQ)%&)(* V*(#UJQKLJW#EQ, i wasn't a psycho but i came this far, won the tickets, can they sign my CD? blah blah blah. billy said of course! let me get a few things & i'll be right back. then i turned around & bobby was in line buying snacks (didn't even look at what!) & then came over to me & said "hey! i see you have our cd!!" he is soooo nice (& god what beautiful man!) & we just chatted about the bus, the tour so far, i asked him about pictures at viper room & he said as far as he knew there were no cameras allowed so be careful...i asked him where they were staying in vegas & he said they didn't really have a room, other than to get ready in & "they" (epic) don't really tell us anything!! then billy came back & they said "Let's go!" so we walked to the tour bus (i was so calm & collected at this point - NOT!!) & bobby said "dino & marty were sleeping so not sure if they are awake yet!" & i just said it was ok, they were so nice to talk to me for this little bit, blah blah blah. so then i stood at the door of the bus & was going to wait, & bobby turned around & nodded his head up & said come on up!!
OH MY GOD.
i'm going crazy at this point.
bobby walked past the bus driver & then he saw me & was like, uh hi! (& thinking WHO the F are you???) LOL
& then i saw the bus...very dark & just kinda casual. i asked them if they rehearsed in there (before i saw the bus) & billy was like WHERE?? (gosh billy, not like i frequent band tour buses!!) LOL
& then i met their sound manager who stopped eating his taco bell to hear my crazy story...& then dino came out of some secret door i hadn't noticed before! & he came running out with arms outstretched...saying hi!!! congratulations! (cuz bobby told him i had won the tickets) & we hugged. they were all soooo nice. bobby then broke the news that marty was sound asleep & they didn't want to wake him. as sad as i was not to see marty it's just as well cuz i think i would have fainted or peed my pants right there. this was all still too insane for me to wrap my head around! i was on their freakin tour bus. so i said it's ok! just tell him jodie from l.a. said hi! & then i got their autographs on the cd cover (dino said "i can just sign marty's name, no one will know!") lol & then i asked for a picture. when i realized my disc said 'no memory available' & i had to erase some pics...i still have the one of marty & me & showed them. they were like "where's your pictures with us?? deleted!!!" & they started cracking up. i said nooo!!! they are on the mc.org website!! go look! honestly!! lol
so we took a picture...i thanked them profusely for indulging my insanity...told them i'd see them friday night at both shows & then again in vegas & they said "hey we'll be seeking you out in the audience so make yourself seen!" (uh hmm, as IF) ;D
sooo...i wobbled off the bus with my legs like jello & drove back here. i hope i remembered everything. sorry for my babbling but it was the craziest thing i think i've ever done & WHAT A BLAST!!
